THAT"S IT!!!! The 70s -- Aaaaahhhhh.

:rotfl:

So, should I be sad that I'm not included because this was before my time? Or, should I gloat that I'm too young to know?

And, Pakey, please use 1 or 2 syllable words only? Remember, I've only aspired to be a homemaker.

I think gloating might be best. :)

I'm so staying away from the "only aspired to be a homemaker" comment. Did I mention I read the other thread and did NOT post?

That's it, I'm sad to not be included. :sad1:

While those of us who were there look with nostalgia, I think you're better off. Have you seen the clothes and hair?

You know, I used to be offended by those who think they are better than others, but I'm not anymore. I chose the life I have and I'm happy.

Wickey, I may not remember the 70s, but I was a child of the 80s and I remember the clothes and hair of that decade. I came of age in the 90s and had a grunge faze. Flannel and combat boots... :lmao:

I would love to see you in flannel and combat boots! :hippie:

I don't know that many pictures exist. That's when I met DH, though. I, also, loved bright red lipstick. Oh, the fashion choices of the past...

Wickey, I did not read the whole thread, but I probably wouldn't have posted either. But, I do understand the necessity for ignore lists.

A little OT but I was cleaning up my spare room last weekend and came across an 8 x 10 photo of me when I was 21. I can't believe how old I've gotten. I looked at that picture and thought "wow, I was pretty". Then I started crying.

I hardly ever think of my age in those kinds of terms but it really hit me when I saw that picture.

Wow, I'm sorry I missed that Cluster ... :rotfl::rotfl2:

I would have been president of the unejamucated, secretarial, Northeastern, no college club! They were just yearning for a leader and I let them down. :sad1:

Pakey, I'm sorry you're feeling old but I know exactly how you feel. Big hair aside, I used to be smokin'. It's been a loooooooong time since I felt good about myself physically. However, I am one heck of a funny person, a great friend and under all this AquaNet I have a heart of gold. I'd like to think some day I'll get back to working on the physical aspects of myself, but in the meantime I try to remember that I'm a good person. There are plenty of attractive people who are less than nice people. As for getting old, it's ALWAYS better than the alternative. You've been through a lot healthwise. Cut yourself a break. You are one of the mentally strongest, upbeat, optimistic people I know. It's okay for there to be a crack in the armor once in a while. :flower3: And FWIW, I think you are a beautiful person, physically and mentally.

Now, everyone, join in for a verse of...

Kumbaya!

My next song is dedicated to Pakey

You are so beautiful, yes
You are to me
You are so beautiful
You are to me
Can't you see? Can't you see?
You are everything I hoped for
And you are everything I need
And you are so beautiful to me

Sorry Kimmar, doesn't ring any bells. Then again if it's supposed to be the late 70's, I was only 11-13 then. :rolleyes1 I was listening to disco and I was into Tiger Beat magazine, Shaun Cassidy and Scott Baio. I don't recall this song playing on popular radio stations either. Sorry to let your Jersey inside joke go to waste. :(

I'll second this! Pakey :hug: None of us are getting any younger, but we can stay young in our minds. You are at a wonderful time right now, look at all the places you are seeing, you have a great job, etc.

If you see the thread I started about my grand-niece you will see that age has nothing to do with self-esteem. I told my DH last night that I am going to stop worrying so much about my looks, because normal aging is nothing compared to what this little girl is going through.

Sorry, off my soapbox now - just want to tell you we all love you and think you are beautiful!!

I was one little step ahead of you - I had DAVID Cassidy on the cover of my Tiger Beat! :woohoo:
