Other trip highlights:
1) MK was empty on the Sunday night EMH hours. It was Columbus Day weekend and I thought it would be packed but it wasn't. We stayed until closing at 1am . We did the Halloween party on Tuesday and it was empty too. We rode every ride in the park (except 2) at least once. We stood on Main Street, dead center in front of Casey's, for fireworks viewing and had so much room around us, there was nobody there. I was so tired (no lines to wait in) that I could barely walk by the end of the night.
2) The food was great. The only meals I wasn't blown away with were Via Napoli and the Afternoon Tea at GF, both of which were new for me. The others (Flying Fish, Ragland Road, bluezoo and Il Mulino) are all favorites and they were good again this time.
3) The crowds. Thank goodness I subscribe to touring plans and followed the days. Many reports on here about the horrible crowds but we didn't experience that. Longest ride wait we had was 20 minutes standby for Expedition Everest.
4) The weather. Perfect. In over 20 WDW trips, this was definitely the best weather. Warm enough to enjoy the pools but cool enough to not have to sweat. We spent almost every afternoon at the pool. I had my kindle, read some good books, really enjoyed the pool time.
5) La Cava de Tequila. It wasn't my first visit there but I think there is now a seat with my name on it. We spent an entire afternoon sitting in there enjoying pineapple margaritas on the rocks and eating quacamole. The place was empty (we were the only ones sitting at a table the entire afternoon) and it was a fun treat.
It amazes me how I've gone to WDW so many times and each vacation is so unique. This was one of the better ones, maybe even the best.
