The Ideal Cast Member Job at WDW

DH would like to be on the Disney Police force, but I don't want to work for Disney..... I am afraid it would detract from the Magic that is Disney.....

Random thread hijacking ...

How difficult IS it to get a job at WDW? Do they hire people exclusively through the college program? I remember a recruiter coming to my university a few years ago, but they were specifically looking for Business majors, which I -- with my head firmly stuck in the Liberal Arts clouds -- was far from being!

Not that I'm about to drop everything and move to Orlando, but I was just curious about the actual hiring process ... It has to be INCREDIBLY competitive!

I'd like to work for Disney Cruise line as one of the coordinators you see at the resort hotels, answering questions and taking docuementation, or, at the airport directing people to busses when they come in on their fights.

I'd get to stay in the AC most of the time and I could do the job with an ECV.

Daisimae  :jester:

I would love to work at the PrimeTime Cafe. Part actress, part waitress, part tour guide. Just having a good time at work. Plus tips from happy people. :D ;) ;)

I have two dream jobs at WDW.
the first one would be a wedding planner...oh I could get in to that.

the second would be to be a person who designs the decorations and puts up displays, like the holidays, the flower and garden fest....etc.

something creative and fun!

I already stated what I'd like to do. Stephen would love to work in the flower gardens. Or anything to do with the landscaping. He just loves that (weird for a 6'4" Harley riding guy), but he loves gardening. Especially roses. He'd love to spend all day at Epcot taking care of the flower beds.

My wife figures that when I retire, we should move to Florida where she'll work as a WDW Florist and I'll get a job working as an engineer on a train at the Magic Kingdom. It's funny that I should come across this thread today because at lunchtime today my lunch buddy asked me what kind of job I could see myself doing at WDW.

That's my dream job, too!

Kungaloosh!
Mort.

Ah man basically ANY of the attractions at MGM would be right up my alley. Whether it be a morose bellhop in TOT or a host of the GMR I'd love it! Or better yet, if they still use the Streetmosphere actors that would be perect! I get paid to create characters anyway so I might as well do it in my favorite park!

One of the photographers in the parks--preferably Main Street:D

When I was on the WDWCP I drove the Friendship boats and LOVED that. I also worked at Alien Encounter also, but definetly liked the boats better. Much more guest interaction. My ideal job would probably be a VIP tour guide at one of the parks.

I would love to do at Disney what I do in the 'real world' - be a mystery shopper/diner. I am sure that they have some sort of program like that there and it would be a breeze. Getting paid to ride the rides, shop the shops and dine at all the venues AND the reports would be breezes since everyone is as near perfect as can be there!

Slightly Goofy/Linda

my son would like to be the "servant" at the Haunted Mansion that says "now kindly move your wretched bodies to the dead center of the room"! I, on the other hand, would like to be a gardener and cut all those topiaries!
