Yep. So I really cant believe I completely forgot it was my 11 month window. I mean I can book at 7 months with other points elsewhere but really wanted BW

Don’t beat yourself up. I’ve been trying for a 2BR resort or Boardwalk view for our trip next year with zero luck. Even if you had been up not sure you would have gotten it. Good luck!

Im hoping someone is walking to the holiday weekend following the weekend I want and I can pick it up tomorrow morning. To book P/G I have to cancel another trip or borrow.

This is probably the situation. You watched me switch from BW view to resort this past week. It took a lot of stalking. I think you would probably get what you want with some serious stalking and waitlisting. By waitlist I mean 'sometimes' it works.

Right now the 1 bedroom is not the problem. And tomorrow's room could be gone before 8, or whatever it is in your time zone. But - the day before may show up. So you need to start checking earlier (hate to say that). This timeframe is your best overall shot at getting what you want. People are always walking. (I never seem to manage that! Anyway people are walking into next years spring break, easter, and those cheap May nights.

With the time difference, I know it's more difficult for you, sleep wise. But, good luck and best wishes!

Oh, and this is nothing quite as bad as early December.

On another note, I was able to extend my early December by another day as I was checking my early February stay. Just using up my extra points! Still have a few so will continue checking to take me into the next week. You never know! And @Genie+ has me checking out CL level all over Disney as an added temptation. Nice way to extend and fill in gaps.

Im lucky enough that I have the ability to stalk so I will do that. I was hoping the day prior would open up because someone was walking but it didnt. Went through our options yesterday for our just in case and was shocked again at how much cheaper BW resort view 2 bed is compared to every other resort, the only other that comes close is AKV standard for a 2 bed. Even my CCV with the great point chart is 43 points more than BW. I justified BW 2042 due to the better point chart just didn't realize how hard it would be, I do think if the 2 bed were not a lock off it would have been easier. This is my first year needing this reservation, maybe my luck will fare better in the future.

I've been pretty bummed with the difficulty getting resort view in studio or 2BR. I'm not even sure how it's possible. Fortunate that we do like the 1BR. Do love Boardwalk though!

I firmly believe it's how popular the studios are for resort view. They really should even though it's technically a lock off have some set aside as dedicated 2 bedrooms dedicated like astro said. That would help the problem immensely imo. And I believe this will help owners for stays for themselves. Most owners are not renting 2 bedrooms, but many rent studios. Big brokers also rent boardwalk resort view studios at an alarming rate too.

Well I’m throwing in the towel on my 2 bed for next Feb after realizing time changes tonight, I’ll keep my waitlist and just see what happens. I scoured my points and decided if no WL fulfills I will try my luck at 7 months somewhere else and just save my Boardwalk points for another trip. Also going to put calendar alerts prior to my 11 months windows from now on.

We will be at Boardwalk next month though and can’t wait to be home!

I only realized the time changed due to your post. I mostly avoid 'news' as much as I can, so when I woke up and went to my kitchen for some water it was a few minutes later that it registered the time had changed. When I wake up, I always read for a bit to get tired enough to go back to sleep.

Seriously, I think we got one in 2022 for DD's graduation trip, but I'll have to check. Probably just settled on P/G view. We bought DVC hoping for 2 bedroom stays, and the lock off situation at BWV has not allowed for standard views. DH was walking/stalking standard studios for his upcoming 2 trips. Never got it for the Nov 2026. trip, but by some miracle, did get it for the Feb 2027 trip. But it's so beyond frustrating that we'll probably never get a 2 bedroom standard at BWV without all of this hassle. Please just give us some dedicated 2 bedrooms!!

The studio bookers would absolutely riot. “You knew what you were getting into when you bought Boardwalk!”. This exact situation is why I was seriously considering beach club over boardwalk….. however the family fell in love with boardwalk.

I think part of this as well is because there’s so much inventory that’s in the pool garden view that a lot of people feel that you don’t even need to have home resort advantage to book that particular view and the only reason to buy Boardwalk is for the boardwalk view or the standard view….. but that just means there’s even more competition for those specific views….

Whether they could declare some 2BR to be dedicated, I don't know, but I wouldn't expect it at this point. OTOH, that might be one of the first changes made to BWV2 in 2042. Take out those connecting doors, cover the openings with sheetrock, and install a single Murphy on that wall, at last!

Well, I don't want them to hold back some lockoffs if it means I can't get my 1BR!!



(When we've come with family and needed 2BR, we just planned on P/G view. I guess we remember the time when BW view was just a request, and we accept not getting it.)
