We usually visit in January, so now I’ve noted all these closures for 2026 and 2027 on my calendar. Thanks, Disney, for the advance notice.

Dammit, I’m at BWV from 26th-29th. :(

At Boardwalk now - Boardwalk view 1 bedroom villa. Checked in yesterday at 12:30pm and the room was ready - plus I had requested 10 specific room numbers on my reservation and got one of my specific room requests. For those scared to request very specific rooms or sections, try it - can't hurt...and you might get lucky more often than you think (I'm running 4 out of 6 at Boardwalk with specific room numbers on my recent stays).

Glad to see things are improving fingers crossed for my trip in a few weeks

that is great to hear.

those 2 times you did not get what you wanted, can you think about any reason? (like you did not make the request right on time, the request was too unrealistic, etc)

Nice!! When you checkout can you post your room number and how you liked it?

I mean… there are only 9 dedicated BWV 1 bedrooms and 30 total one BWV bedrooms… so if you put in enough room numbers relative to the overall total at some point statistically speaking your going to have a high chance of getting the room… It doesn’t actually mean that putting in a number does much…

In my case, I had requested 10 specific Boardwalk View 1-bedroom villas that had the fully enclosed and private balconies. Out of 30 total 1-bedrooms, my chances were about 1/3. 3 of the other times were garden/pool view, so out of a possible 188 room matches, the odds were much lower to get one of my specific rooms. I don't specify dedicated vs connecting.

I think the two times I didn't get a specific room request was just down to odds/availability - when I checked in, those room numbers were already booked. But I was able to get 2nd general area requests both times - croquet lawn area which I prefer over the pools. So request-wise, I'd say close to 100% lately, but regarding the specific room number requests, still pretty good.

I had room 2039 this time - my 4th time staying in that room (I have gotten 2011 5 times). The thing I like about those rooms is probably what some others dislike - the huge covered and enclosed balcony - because it doesn't have a rail-type balcony, you don't see the Boardwalk if you're sitting in a chair - to see the full view you have to be standing at the end of the balcony (or do what I do - bring one of the kitchen bar stools out on the balcony and sit right along the rail with a drink on the nice, side ledge - it's like sitting at a bar overlooking the lake - great for people-watching, fireworks, etc. The balcony is 3x larger than any of the regular open balconies, and you can sit out there in pouring rain or lightning.

Plus, 2039 is only about 1/2 way down the hall, so it's nice not being as far from the lobby area. The ice machine was just 2 rooms away which was perfect - and being on the 2nd floor meant no elevators needed walking from the lobby area. And there's a nice staircase that few people seem to know about that's right in the 'bend' of the hall where there's the little cut-out from the floors above - that stairs takes you down to the boardwalk level right between the gallery and general store - so you don't have to go all the way to the lobby or elevators when leaving, especially if you're planning on hitting the Boardwalk, walking to Epcot, or grabbing the boats.

I was able to book a 7 night garden view BWV for April into May! I am hanging onto a 5 night Kidani just prior in hopes to switch it over to Poly for after the BWV stay.

I am forgoing the HA studio this time as there was no availability. The height of the tub and bed are my biggest challenges so I might buy a footstool when we shop for groceries LOL. We always seem to be near the elevators near the laundry on the first floor and I absolutely hate the lack of privacy with the pool. The kind folks at the desk have not been able to relocate us. Being from NH, I want the drapes open and to enjoy the balcony and good weather (yes, it snows at our elevation in April yikes!).

Okay, BWV owners and lovers, which studio should I request please? THANK YOU in advance!!

If you request Village Green you will have a very good chance of getting it because that whole first section of hallway is studios on all 4 floors. You will have partial boardwalk view and be close to the elevators.
