i've so far stayed away from all the post-Halloween sales by working constantly (being broke at the moment helps too). i'm still pretty proud of my Halloween candy count: 3! And none of it chocolate either!

Sounds like you're getting things back to normal, and that's very good to hear.

Great job on resisting temptation.
I can honestly say the candy doesn't appeal to me (not really a sweet eater don't care much for chocolate)it's the other bargains that I love.
Besides I'm ALWAYS broke, remember I just had to take a week off, and no one pays to warm the couch.

I GOT MY DISNEY PACKET TODAY


I am so HAPPY, I came home after a very hard..trying day ready to call it a day and go to bed my knee hurts, I have a sinus migraine lingering.
When I went to the phone to listen to my messages there was the ONE saying my trip pkg from Disney was in. YEAH.

I also got online to check messages and had a good deal from Disney saying book 4 nts get 3 free in 2009. Looks interesting.

Congratulations on the packet! It always means it is getting close. I know what you mean about the new deal that came out. It got me thinking for a few minutes too. But, when I priced it out, it actually came about to what we had for our fall package which was about 30% off rack rate for the room including our DDP price. If we go next year, and that's a big IF it would be as a few days add-on to our cruise after Thanksgiving.

It looks like the economy is really hurting Disney and I think we'll find a lot of deals there for next year so if you can't go from Jan through June, I'm sure there will be great deals for the fall as well. I don't include summer because it would have to take the greatest deal in the world to get me to go to Disney World in the summer.

I told my DH to keep his germs to himself but no he loves to share(he has had a sinus infection for the last two weeks and was just allowed to get his flu shot)
Th deal did sound great but I can't act on anything yet so we will just have to see.

I really didn't expect it for another week or so as most posters have been posting that they waited forever for their packet to come in, so it was a surprise. My migraine was to bad to read through it last night so I have glanced at it today.
I am just so anxious to put the luggage tags on and put my bags on the plane and get to Disney.
The deal sounded really nice but I think we will wait to see what the fall specials are also, and our finances.

I know it is looking GREAT

Woke up this morning with a stuffed up nose,earache,sore throat and a massive migraine.
I know it is from the nasty weather here it is raining out today and getting colder (I hate the cold).
I am glad I have a couple of weeks to get this under control before vacation.

What else could go wrong, being ladid up with my knee and now a sinus infection...All I can say is......

Thought I'd share a little gift I got today from my sweet dear cousin, she knows how hard this last couple of weeks has been for me so she stopped by today with a gift.....she bought me some Mickey shaped pasta ( she found it at an International store we have nearby) and she also brought the makings for chicken/pasta soup for my sinus/cold infection. Which I will have DH make for my dinner tonight Also some wonderful teas...peppermint and orange/cranberry spice. I just love it when you get nice little surprises when yo least suspect them
And she found the cutest soup mug that has Disney related charactors on it.
I am going to have to have my son help me fiqure this photo posting out so I can share all my goodies with you all.

It is cold outside today here and it is a reminder that winter is on it's way

My migraine has let up after taking some Esgic plus for two days, but my nose is stuffed up and unmentionable junk is coming out of every orifice.
My DH and sons know and love to cook(I TRAINED them right)
But my DH is a really good cook.
He did make the soup and what I could taste of it( taste buds are not cooperating) it was good.

My cousin and I are really close almost more so than my sisters . Her DH and mine get along so great we do alot of traveling together I wish they could've came with us to Disney but they had prior obligations .
My DH is so sweet (at times), after all he is the one who made me sick , he had it first.

How's about you both coming over tomorrow for lunch and we can sit down have a nice hot bowl of Mickey chicken/paste soup and talk Disney

Recipe for Mickey's Chicken/Pasta Soup:
as quoted abd shared by DH (he makes up recipes as he goes along)
1 cup Mickey pasta
3 cups chicken both
1 cup diced chicken breast cooked
3 stalks celery (diced)
2 carrots (diced)
3 green onions (diced)
1/4 cup kale (chopped small) I love kale in my soups as it spices it up alittle


Cook over medium heat celery,carrots and onions till tender
Boil pasta in chicken broth till done add veggies and cooked chicken add the rest of the chicken broth, simmer for about 1/2 hour. right before serving add chopped kale and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Serve with crusty buttered bread.

That nasty, rain, cold weather doesn't do anything good for the sinuses! I had a terrible sinus headache last night when we got home from seeing Thomas the Tank Engine! Luckily, a nice hot shower, 2 motrin, a decongestant and early bed knocked it out pretty well!

You can join us for dinner than...Meatloaf,potatoes, and green beans, I cooked dinner for tonight.

Have been trying to catch up on things that got under way when I was laid up. I don't want anything getting in my way when it comes time to pack so I have almost everyday planned with something to do.
Today was cleaning out my bedroom closet and winterize it.
Catch up on laundry.
Give DH haircut(he doesn't have much on top but it sure does take time triming the sides even) and a pedicure(he is type 2 diabetic and has THICK nails so I usually trim them for him).

My goal is to have my Christmas tree and house decorated by the week before Thanksgiving.
