The "I gotta do something to pass the time"pre-trip report

I wish I was going to DL 1st too. My whole life I have wanted to visit DL and now it's going to be after DW I'm afraid it will be a bit of an anti-climax and that I might be all theme parked out by the time we get there :guilty: I couldn't come all that way and not go to both Land and World, though, and I couldn't go all that way and not see my family 1st in NYC for Thanksgiving, so really there was no option as I couldn't leave any early due to job commitments. Still, if that's my biggest problem in life aside from Vegemite eating through my skin, I guess I've got nothing to complain about! :lmao: Vegas would have been fun with you too, but maybe not quite as much fun as DW :sad1: Maybe one day DH & I will get to have a non-theme park visit to America, but I have a feeling it will be England, Africa and Egypt for us next time round (DH's turn to pick, but I'm pretty sure if DH won big at poker he'd be buying himself a BIG BOAT!!! :scared: ). If that happens, we'll send you an invite to try it out with us :thumbsup2 Off to see Wall-E at the cinemas with a work colleague now (here it's 11am on Sunday) :goodvibes

You can never be theme parked out,
Thanksgiving with family is very important.
As for visiting us if you are in the mood we do have a fairly large theme park here called Paramount Studios(Kings Island) and not to far away we have a Six Flags Theme Park.
Our next big vacation hopefully will be to go back to Hawaii we went there for our 30th anniversary but only got to see 3 of the Islands and of course I want to go back to Alaska I was fortunate to have gone with a patient of mine who had Parkinson's Disease but I'd love to be able to go back and see it with my DH since there was so much I didn't really get to see.
But of course I'd love to see England,Africa or Egypt which I know my DH would love since he is into history so much.
Boating what can I say other then "CALL ME' I'll meet you at any port.:thumbsup2

:rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow:

Plus it will be my 1st ever Thanksgiving (we don't celebrate that in Australia!) I lived in NYC until I was 4, but I don't remember Thanksgiving, so I'm counting this as my 1st. :yay:

It's official - now I'm TOTALLY JEALOUS of your travel history. Please stop inspiring me, friend - it's REALLY EXPENSIVE!!!! I didn't see Australia anywhere on your wish list, though - hate to tell you but the boat will be in Port Melbourne (Victoria, Australia) when you join us for that cruise :goodvibes

It is so funny that you are on posting when I am.
Than I truly will being saying my prayers that you will have the best ever Thanksgiving. I am learning so much about Australia from you that I didn't know.
I would love to see Australia.
As for being jealous, don't be ..it took us sometime to save for our 30th anniversary trip and the fact that several of my patients were quite generous to us helped. And when it came to Alaska I didn't have to pay a dime for that trip it was paid for by the couple I went with, like I stated he had Parkinson's and they liked to travel but couldn't go without a nurse so that is where I came into the picture.
Even our Disney trip has been acquired by saving over the last 5 years from having garage sales and also with some generous donations from my patients and their families.
Vegas is truly our only cheap vacation we use our sky miles to fly down and use our free night they offer us to try and get us down there thinking we will gamble alot ,which we don't and of course I know the ins and outs by using Vegas coupons that are out there to use.I can literly do Vegas on a dime.

Thanks for your Thanksgiving prayers and best wishes! :flower3: It will be special to meet my dad's brother and my cousins for the first time. My cousin has bought us tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on our first night in America. :yay:

I'm only jealous of your travel experiences in a good way :) DH has never been out of Australia before, so he's in for an amazing experience and I think he'll get bitten by the travel bug pretty quickly (pretty sure he has Alaska and Canada on his list too). I read about your garage sales to fund your trips in your previous posts - you work hard and deserve every minute of fun you've had and are still to have! :goodvibes

:cheer2: BRING ON THE FUN!!! :cheer2:
ps (looks like you've finally gone to bed, so when you wake up and read this, have a great day!!! ;) )

I'm back up can't sleep. 5:30am
Radio City Christmas Spectacular sounds like fun..this will truly be a year of events for you to remember.
I know you both will be doing alot of traveling in the future, it is contagious.

Holy cow the one night i get some sleep and i'm missing all the fun! Usually i'm up posting in the middle of the night by myself!

Aussie Bambi Girl i'm glad you enjoyed "Presto" too. That had us howling through the whole thing, we so loved it. i can't wait to get the DVD for Christmas so i can watch it again :)

Yes, come to Canada!!!!

Vickey the cockroach is just cute, not icky at all. And he's not in the whole film. He's Wall-E's pet. If you can handle animated mice.... ;)

England is spectacular if you're into museums and galleries and old buildings and incredible architecture. Also if you like to walk up a lot of stairs. The Pagoda at Kew Gardens has 253 steps, the monument to the Great Fire of London has 311 steps, St. Paul's Cathedral has 530 steps... While they're all spectacular and worth the climb they just reiterate that London is all about walking and climbing! i don't want to hijack here, so i'll post some England pictures on my PTR in a little bit. But definitely go to England, both of you!

Geeze Vicky! Your PTR is a happening place!!

I'm glad your knee is feeling a bit better and that you made it through the store with no major incident! You could of ended up on the 11 o'clock news "women in ECV wrecks grocery store" :lmao:

Aussie Bambi Girl, it sounds like you have a great trip to the states planned!! Radio City Christmas Spectacular is a great show!! DH and I took the kiddos, minus our littlest who stayed with Grandma, to see it last year! It really Spectacular! They show TV commericals for it like crazy here in NY and my kids keep asking if we're going again this year. I have to remind them that we're going to WDW right after christmas, so no trip to the city this year.

My Grandfather, who died when I was 12, was a world traveler. he went to all sorts of amazing places, Africa, China, Russia all over Europe etc, etc. He did it just for the fun and enjoyment of seeing the world. The only place he wanted to go to that he never to got to before he died was Australia. One day I'm going to take a trip to Australia in his memory!!

Sorry you missed the party, but if we have another one you are definetly invited as a matter of fact I make sure Aussie brings you some nice YUMMYVEGEMITE
I would love to see your England pictures one of my friends married a man who was born and lived in England until he met her and moved here.I love his accent, I would love to be able to have my DH borrow it for a night of romance.
I also love the Australian accent too I had a contractor who worked on our house a couple years ago and I think I was actually breaking things just to keep him around, had to let him finally leave since we were running out of money to pay him for the repairs.:confused3 It also helped that he had a knock out bod to go with the accent:woohoo:
I will give the roaches a chance I promise.

Yeah:cheer2: my knee is feeling better. Headliner would have been crazy lady in ECV runs over little old ladies and children trying to avoid knocking over displays. Falls out of ECV and damages other knee.:scared:

You definetly have to go to Australia in your grandfathers memory.

Better idea why don't we all get together and travel ALL over the World:dance3: :dance3:

Well I have my laundry:laundy: all caught up and am working on updating my Disney folder.

Well voting is done and we did manage to get breakfast out. No Mickey Mouse Waffles but it'll do till we get to WDW.

Since I was out anyway today on my way home I decided to stop off at Walgreens to see what bargains they had let over from Halloween it was all marked down to 75% and I found some good bargains first was a tube of glow sticks that contained (2-8"glow sticks...3-4" glow sticks...1-3" glow stick pendent and 2 glow stick earrings) I picked up 6 at .50 each thought it would be nice to add to the stash we had already bought from the Dollar Store we want to hand them out during the parades and fireworks to the wee ones.
Plus I found Disney hard plastic plates (not even a Halloween design) for .25 each got 6 of those,6 Disney cups to match also .25 each and a huge 500 pc Disney suckers for $1.25 to give to a friend that mails her family that lives in the Phillipines a Christmas box every year.
Of course they had all kinds of candy that was Disney related but my Pooh sized butt doesn't need any more to enhance it.:scared1:
