The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

Everytime I see an hourglass timer I think of soap operas..

Like the sands thru an hourglass, so are the Day of our Lives.... crescendo to moody 70's music,

sniff mmm spray starch, sound of sizzling...

That's my childhood memory, my mom had every Monday off.. watched soaps on the tiny black and white in the bedroom while ironing all of dad's shirts. :cutie:

I finally got a shot of Mickey's face! I always get his side or the back of his head or Minnie, but this time I got a nice pic of him! :)

ooo I like it, no more giant glass cases to walk around.

The table lamp is pretty, I like unique but old styles. Nicely done.

I noticed some purses they had but they weren't my style. It looked like that brand Betseyville with Tink on it but I didn't like any of the styles. They also had a plastic/vinyl laminated type of material bag with Tink printed on it. It cost $28!! Two CM's were trying to get me to buy it (they saw me looking at it) and I said: "It's cute but it's expensive for such a small size."

:goodvibes Isn't it fun to try to get certain shots?
There were some trips that I went with no camera, others I wanted to take pics of everything, searching out those littel things that make DL special .. like that one I had of the bell hanging in the seating area at Rancho.

boo hooo hoooo... oh well, I gotta find new places to take pics that are close to me.

I accidentally broke a bracelet (it's ceramic I believe or plastic). It cost $15. Someone was moving through the store to escape the parade I'm guessing, she swung her bag around and it hit me in the back and I dropped the bracelet. I tried to catch it but was too late. :( I took it to the CM and said I accidentally broke it. She said not to worry about it and that it wasn't a big deal.

Gosh, first I break that Stitch figurine last week and then this bracelet. Ughh... :sad1:

I was a little embarassed because everyone around me gasped and one person said: "Well that wasn't good!"

Yes it is! I like taking pics of things that people don't really notice. It's really fun and I do it without hunting for it. I just look around and voila! :goodvibes It's really fun, especially on a weekday when it's not busy and early morning. :thumbsup2 <sigh> I haven't done that in a long time!

On a happier note, before my parents left for their trip, last night my dad gave me a free 2-day park hopper. I was thrilled and asked why and he said he had an extra and to give it to my bf. :yay:

I know what you mean. I offered to pay for the bracelet but the CM insisted it wasn't a big deal and that it wasn't necessary. :confused3

:grouphug: I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your DH finds a job soon. That's not good that the principal didn't call back. :sad2:

Yesterday I was given my review by my supervisor. She said my work has improved and gave me excellent and outstanding marks. She said she likes that I always do my work and don't leave anything for "later" or the next day and that my customers say positive things.

Later on the big boss gave me a 6% raise. I told my bf and he said his work only gives 2% raises a year, no exceptions. He text me earlier and said that they laid off 2 fillers tonight.

He can sub instead of full time work. Actually works out better financially to stay on disability and work part time.

Makes no sense-- but okay whatever. :confused3

I hope he finds a good school where he will be happy. :yay: Not like that evil lady he worked with here. :sad2:

Congrats on the good review and the raise :goodvibes

Are you worried that he will get laid off too? What's the point of doing a job well done if everyone gets the same raise, basically a cost of living increase?? No incentive-- dorks.

My bf's work is strange. They don't offer you a raise unless you quit. :sad2: It's tough though because his pharmacy is owned by a big corporation and they have several offices. I told him that he may want to consider going elsewhere and somewhere where he could earn higher pay.

No, they have made it clear that they need him and that he is one of the best workers they have. He started training some new techs. One pharmacist likes to say "wah wah" after every sentence. It has no meaning but she keeps doing it and the people she trains don't understand her. He said it's just a habit of hers. My bf said that she is terrible at training people and that every single person she's trained has been fired or ended up quitting after a short period of time. She's not clear and doesn't know how to train people. :confused3

:lmao:

Oh I know! She was a horror, none of the staff liked her.. except her brown nosers tattling on others. :sad2:

The interview was out of the blue.. he didn't apply for the job, they pulled his name from the district pool and asked him to come in.
we thought it meant he was qualified and would land the job.. since they seeked him out?? guess not.
