The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

I called my mom this evening, to find out how the visit with my brother and his family went, and if they're planning to come over on Saturday.

Turns out there were still there, having shown up just before dinner, and I called after dinner. She said the baby is "fat!" around 28 lbs, and he's only 10 mos. old! I was thinking DS4 weighed that around age 2! :scared1:

Thats NOTHING. Mikalah weighed FAR more then that! :lmao:

She out grew her 20 lb car seat at 7 months. Alex was even around 30lbs by the time he turned one.

Honestly, I can't wait to see him! I could hear him cooing in the background, I think he must have been sitting in my mom's lap when i called. :cutie:

I don't remember, but I was thinking both the boys were just over 20 lbs. at one year (maybe 22 or 24 lbs.), and they only gained 4 lbs or so in the 2nd year. :confused3

Me too!!! I have BIG babies... Little babies kind of scare me. Mikalah was 2 weeks early and still weighed over 8lbs.
my kids were born cows...all these tiny babies sounded like mice when they cried...mine came out sounding like men....:lmao: my smallest was 8... my largest was 10 and he was only 19 inches long:scared1: he was freaking huge...my doctor kept calling him a texas baby...because he had a big head...:lmao:

Both boys were born 3 weeks early (taken via c-section) and DS8 was 8 lbs 3 oz, and DS4 was 8 lbs even. The doc said they would have been over 10 lbs if they'd gone full term.

Alex STOPPED growing after he turned one. Well.. Stopped gaining weight that is. He still only weighs like 45 pounds.. He is almost 7! But you know Mikalah. She is a moose baby. She is 3 and a half and pushing 55lbs. I cant even lift her right now. But you know... She is tall enough to carry that weight. Her and Alex are only like 4 inches different in height.

Mikalah would have been HUGE if she was born on time. HUGE!! Im glad she wasnt. My sister and I were talking about how I am going to have gigantic 10lb twins. :lmao: :lmao:

I couldn't breath when I was pregnant...being 5 ft. and having a giant turkey kid in there...well it made me look like a weeble wobble.

They sure seem to be growing that way. But that's awesome! You should have less problem with babies with problems due to lack of development. Underweight is a bit scary, especially when twins tend to be delivered early.

:lmao: Thats why I am so glad I am tall. I have PLENTY of room for babies! I have never once had a baby get up in my ribs..

I know. From what I have seen.. Most of the women that go full term with twins.. Which is between 35-38 weeks, have 6-7 pounders. Which is still a healthy weight. But scary to me. I have never held such a small baby.

if that isn't the truth...my ribs never were right after that....I looked like I had a football team in me...the scarry thing is when DS (middle) was born he was sick for weeks...he had a bm in utero and they left me in labor for 17 hours after they broke my water...

One of my GF delivered at 31.5 weeks. THAT was scary. She had BP problems, so the baby was around 2 lbs, or maybe less? I can't quite remember. Tiny tiny tiny. Her skin looked paper thin, and she was just bony.

Thank goodness today you'd never know. She's tall for her age, on target developmentally, and just a very bright kid. :thumbsup2

ok, I am gonna jump off here and hit the pillow, and leave you guys with the baby talk...;) put the icecream back Staley....
