I think of our bodies as a machine, sometimes the parts wear out. And sometimes they just don't work as expected, no particular reason why.

Doctors are the Mr. Fix-it people of your neighborhood.
Dialysis is basically an oil change, except we do it eco friendly by washing it and putting it back in.

At least my urgent care up here is good - hope they can deal with pediatric patients

I googled it, and couldn't find one. Most of the links take you to autism - seems right now they lump the two together - while there are similarities there are way more differences

I read that about the doc saying school didn't matter at this age?? what the heck ??
Any stressor at any age, doesn't matter where.. could cause problems. (oh and Alex, I get eye twitches too. I read that it is likely due to stress.)

Since you did say there was nothing new and home life was okay, he should have done a full assesment and history.
I really detest docs that don't bother to do their job. They make an assumption and throw down the attitude to boss patients around. It's suppose to be a partnership.

I get irritated at clinic visits, the doc and nurse chat about E like he isn't even there.

I make a point of moving the chair off to the side so it is obvious that I am a bystander, not a person in charge of his health decisions.

I made the mistake last visit of sitting close by and the doc would talk to me and barely a word to hubby.. I was like uhhhh , you have to ask him since he is the one dialyzing..



But we don't this doc that well yet, hubby is still building that partnership.

I miss the nephrologist he had years ago-- she was awesome! He would ask for med changes, she would counter with reasons why those choices could be good or bad. And together they would hash out a deal .

Nice give and take. She would draw diagrams and explain everything.

Sadly she moved on to a new clinic and less patient load -- understandable as she had young children at home-- that was funny too.. hubby thought she was getting fat-- nope she was preg.

Hmm, our neighbors downstairs are playing their music. Really loud Middle Eastern music.

Earlier it was a baby screaming its lungs out for a hour.

Interesting, we hardly ever heard anyone inthe building in daytime when we lived here the year before-- times are changin.

It was the place for young couples, roommates, college students-- now it's young families from around the globe.

Believe me, I was in utter shock, and will never go back, even if they are the only pediatrician on the mountain

The immigrant families are getting smart about where to move for good education.
Our building is one of the cheapest places to live in a very good district. Watch out suburbia-- here we come!

*Dizzy- I'm sorry to hear that your arm was hurting. I'm glad you went to the doctor and that they were able to find out what was causing the pain. I never heard of bursitis but just read about it on google.

*Alex- Sorry to hear that your DS didn't tell you about his book report assignment. I hope he does well on the poster.

Hello Pixie and Sarah.. flying on thru the hyena thread today

Today we had a cheapskate's vision of the perfect day:

Taco Bell is offering a free crunchy beef taco from 2-6 pm in honor of a player stealing a base. (4 tacos $3.65 free)

Barnes and Noble has coupons for a free latte, cappucino, coffee or tea in the Starbucks cafe. (3 lattes @ $2.65 each, screwed up as we were one coupon short.)

E and J played chess while we sipped our free lattes. Then we looked at a chess book to check the rules on a strategy that E claimed was legit.. it wasn't quite correct.

Drove back home, the boys were very chatty with caffeine and sugar fueled synaptic firing. Asking lots of "what if" questions and puzzling over alternative fuels.

For the price of a bit of gas (ours has dropped to $2.09), it was the perfect cheap family outing.

Oh and hubby bought his weekly lottery ticket because, as the commercial says, "it could happen" .

Halloween night will be another family outing, free burritos at Chipotle.. just need a bit of foil to decorate ourselves. The deal is after 6 pm until closing, come dressed as a burrito. I've been reaidng of people just wrapping their wrists in foil and that is fine. YYYYYYYYYUMMMY!!

Well this machine has a problem, it's wearing out and it's only halfway thru it's lifetime warranty!

Yes, I said it...today sucks! Actually yesterday sucked, but today sucked even more. So today is suckiest!

Yesterday printer at work is flashing ink out messages, but I know it's not really out of ink...go to Office Max get stuck in there for over an hour because idiot people don't know how to order copier toner. If they worked for me I would fire all 4 of them!

This morning printer still won't work even with new ink...go to Best Buy and get new printer, which of course doesn't open until 10am. What idiot manager thought that idea up? In the middle of a bunch of offices that open at 8am and they can't be bothered to up until 2 hours later. 8, count them EIGHT people standing at the door at Best Buy greeting and checking everyone's receipts. Do you think there is anyone to help carry a heavy printer box for me? NO! So I go to customer service and she apologizes because it's only 10:15am! WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you open at 10am, yes but everyone is usually late getting on the floor. Don't even get me started. I ask if one of the "bozos" standing at the front door can help...NOPE! They are apparently busy treating everyone like a shoplifter. FINALLY they get some guy to help carry the printer up to the register for me. Then he says, do you want me to get you a cart so you can push it to your car? I said, I just had surgery and I can't lift over 20 pounds, so I will need help lifting it into the car. He informs me that he can only carry it to the front door, I will have to carry it the rest of the way, due to liability and safety issues. WTH!!!! I'm 5 feet tall, do you really think I'm going to attack this 6'5 tall guy in the parking lot? I ask him if he's ever heard of the ADA (American's with Disabilities Act)? I require assistance with my shopping because I am disabled. The clerk overhears me and tells him to carry it out to my car (wise lady), the only smart one I've run into.

Anyway I stuff the receipt and change in my purse and about get mauled at the front door because they want to see my receipt. I look at them and tell them NO! They watched me pay for it 5' away at the register. If they try to stop me I will assume they are trying to assault me, I will kick them you know where and I will call 911 if they put a finger on me or the employee carrying it out to my car...SO GET OUTTA MY WAY...I'M HAVING A BAD DAY! The sea of Best Buy Bozo's parted and I was soon on my way!

For 2 days now I've been dealing with a computer virus on one of my bosses computers (finally got it fixed this afternoon) and trying to get things set up for my new printer.
