The HUGE Planning Resources Thread!

hi- love the idea of planning pages. My husband is so mad at me bc all I do is plan for our trip... but we are going in 2 weeks!!! so much to do.
Anyway, I like the idea of a planner- what size did you use. What kind of planner did u use? I tried putting pages into an old planner I had- but it is not working out. What do you suggest using?

I keep flip flopping from using just a outlook calendar page to a park itenerary for each day. I think I am really just looking for a one page/card for each day that contains everything. EMH, Dining reservations, must-do's, character meetings, parades, favorite counter service, attractions, entertainment- everything- anybody have something like that?
This is my favorite planning pages: http://www.touringplans.com/UG/freeorganizer.php?showtripplanner=

It's free and they show you how to make the cover out of regular folder. Used it twice - love it!!! They have maps, and info for each day! 'Hope this helps!

Thanks for the links. I like the idea of a little pocket size book- like 3 x 5 or so. Does anyone have a recommendation on what kind of book to put my pages into? I was looking at the Touring PLans pages- really like those) but they only show you how to make a 8 x 5 ish size book. That would never fit in my park bag.

I bought a 4x6 photo album at our local dollar store (sold me that it had Tink on the front :goodvibes. It worked really well for me - inexpensive, small but not too small to read, lightweight, fit into my bag, lots of pages, could tuck in MNSSHP tickets, receipts for purchases, etc. For the planning pages, I used some 4 x 6 index card type sheets that someone had posted here and they were awesome. I tried to move them from my old computer yesterday and am having some problems with that :sad1: but if I figure it out will post. I was just looking through it yesterday for our upcoming trip to DL. Will definitely be using it again.

If someone can tell me how to do it I can post a picture of the album so you get the idea. I am somewhat technically challenged.

great idea!! I get the picture. I have those index cards- I am crazy I think. I have put my info into several different formats- and am trying to decide which one I like- which one will I take iwth me. I keep updating all of the different formats too. I have lost my mind.:rotfl: I like certain things about the differnt ones- I have been trying to modify so that one will have all the things I need. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

I actually created templates that are business card size. I purchased a small business card holder (the one with pages) from an office supply store or you could use one of those wallet photo holders. I printed the cards, put them in the holder and it fits perfectly in my bag or pocket! I made 1 for each park that had the hours for the week we were there, including EMH, anything special going on (i.e. MNSSHP- with confirmation # in case we lost our tickets, Food & Wine, Fantasmic) and our ADR restaurant, time and confirmation #.
I also created 1 just for our ADRs.

Ooh does anyone have a link to the 4 x 6 templates?
That's just the size I want :)

Going today to buy a planner or binder for my planning book....any suggestions on what is best?

Lisa

I have the 4 X 6 templates that I got from someone on this board last year but am not sure how to post them. If someone could tell me what to do I'd be happy to post.

I don't think they do these cards anymore. My kids got them about a year ago on the bus. We were the only one on the bus and chatted with the driver and he gave them each one.

Didn't happen the last two times we've been to the parks.

My work blocks 4shared! I guess no planning on work time today! But I am counting the hours till I can go home and look thru the files! I am hoping to be email them work and print them! :thumbsup2

I may need a bigger binder!

I need those 4 x 6 cards too! The 5 x 7 ones are just not working and I can't get them to reformat. Somebody please share their creation. I only have a week to get everything printed out....aaaaahhh starting to panic.

OK Guys,
Here goes my first attempt at posting with pictures- so I apologize in advance if it doesn't turn out...

This is my newly created DisPlanner- I bought a DayOne black planner at walmart for about $20. It is the smallest style, measuring about 7.5hx6w" and contains sheets that are 4.25wx7.75h". It has a couple pockets and plastic holders and was filled with the day planner sheets divided in months. I took out about 95 percent of that and my DH made a template in word foor me to create my own sheets like plans, ADR's, important #'s etc. I am still working on filling those out and will probably take them to a Staples or something to print since I don't want to waste our ink.

I have finished creating some section dividers which I made by cutting some cardboard to size and wrapping and decorating with leftover scrapping supplies and clip art off the Disigns thread and google.

It has been alot of fun as planning for me is almost as much fun as being there.:rotfl:

Here's a pic of the maps I printed from the unofficial guides website, I just had to adjust the size

This exactly what I've been searching for on this thread.
I have a portable size day-timer that I wanted to convert to a Disney planner, but wasn't sure it would work.

Thanks for posting your pics. Did it work out well on your trip?

If I'm not mistaking.... the planning card templates that everyone is referring to are my disigns :confused3. All you need to do is make a request in my thread and I will email them out.
;)
