Sunday 22nd Feb 2009
Alarm went off at 6.45am, we were up and checked out of the room by 7.15am, took suitcase to baggage room and walked to Cafe Mickey, we had booked the early 7.30am sitting and was the 3rd family to arrive, so much to choose from to eat, and this is where I confess to really going over board on the eating front. Max appetite came back with avengance too, he ate lots of fruit and cereal, then at 8am Genie walked out:
Shortly followed by Pluto:
Then Eyore:
Which one is Goofy?:
Then the top man himself, to which all the kids screamed:
Max was so happy, it made my day and I was so glad we had decided to take the bullet and still go for the weekend:
We left around 8.15 and went into the park for EMH, quite a queue at the gates to get in and then some more hassle showing our passes to get into Fantasyland, we then rode Dumbo, spinning cups, peter pan ride, walked through to Aventureland and walked up to the top of the tree (think its called Swiss family Robinson) it killed my legs!!!!!! we then walked through and got some more water for Max who was quite weak after climbing the tree, so ended up being carried around on OH shoulders, we then waited for the Molly Brown Paddlesteamer and had a nice 15 min cruise around, the weather turned a little colder about this point and we had to pull our hoods up, a few photos around park:
We then walked back through main street to go to the Disney village for lunch at this point, my phone went off and it was my sister in law calling to ask me to have her kids for a few hours, she had forgotten where we were lol my bruv in law had been rushed into hospital after getting an electric shock whilst at work! it was a bit distressing not being able to help them.
On the way through we saw Mary Poppins:
Short video clip (click on pic to watch):

We went to Rainforest cafe for midday and had a lovely meal which ok was expensive but it was our blow out meal that we had allowed for, here is a pic of the 17euro dessert we shared which really didnt look anything like the picture in the menu:
Max loving the atmosphere in the restaurant:
We then went back into the studios and went on Disney Cars:
Magic carpet ride, oh and the crush had a waiting time of 100 mins so we avoided that one lol, we then went to Stitch Live which I thought was fantastic, then my favourite the Star tours ride, little Max loved this as last time he was really young and didnt understand what was happening. Some more pics:
We then walked back to the Disney Park and watched the parade which was beautiful, then went to the Cable Cafe and had fantastic Cheesecake and Hot chocolate, we then had a nosey around the shops and brought some gifts for neices and then made our way to the station for our journey home.
What a nightmare, we collected our case no problem from Disney Express, but then found a huge crowd had gatthered for check in, check in was supposed to open 7pm, it didnt open until 7.35, there was distressed children and babies crying, the train was supposed to pull out at 8.13 and didnt leave until 8.35pm in the end, the train actually made it back into Ashford 10 mins before it was supposed to, so infact made up a good half hour on route home and boy did we know it, we seemed to be flying, going at great speed, OH went to the buffet car and said everyone was having trouble standing up!!!! Max slept the whole train ride home, but then woke up in a foul mood and wanted a drink - which we didnt have, he then continued to cry for the whole 1 hour journey home in the car, sobbing for a drink.
The weekends had its ups and its downs, but was still a truely fantastic experience and I am sad its all over (for now lol) it still cost us a lot of money for one night but I feel we packed a lot in and had just as much fun as going for longer, we will return, hopefully later this year. My biggest recommendation is the Cafe Mickey Character breakfast as we spent so much time solely with the characters and then left it to everyone else to queue in the parks to see them.
Monday night I was in bed by 7.45pm my legs shot through lol oh and when I stood on the scales Monday morning I was devastated to see a 5lb weight gain
Thanks for reading x
