Day 12 – Saturday, 11th August 2007 – Universal
Again we had breakfast in the Orchid Court, followed by a visit to Universal Studios.
At Universal we went on Shrek, The Mummy twice, MiB. Again we left the kids on MiB to perfect their high scores whilst we went off and did Jaws and ET.
We grabbed a coffee at Starbucks which was fine drinking it in the air conditioning café but decided to walk to catch the Fear Factor show and drinking coffee in the blazing sunlight is another matter. I had beads of sweat on my forehead by the time we got to the show.
Fear Factor was good. We especially like the bit where a spider is thrown out in to the audience. I never know why people put themselves up to eat the horrible stuff for the sake of winning a plastic cup. I never know if they are eating what they say or not.
The hubbie had a headache so we left the park and went to the Mall of Millenia. They bought stuff from the Hollister store whilst I browsed the net in the Apple Store. We popped in a Sizzler for tea for a Sizzlin Steak which was delicious. Then nipped across the car park to Congo River Golf.
The golf was fun and afterwards the kids fed the gators. They made the hot dogs last by only putting tiny slivers on the lines. The gators had grown quite a bit in the year. It started to rain a little bit as we headed back to the hotel.
We headed back into Universal, we let the kids go ahead and we stopped off in the Irish pub for a beer and a wine which was quite relaxing. We met the kids outside MiB and watched the fireworks from that point.
They legged it back to the hotel whilst we popped into a few shops and bought a couple of smoothies from the hotel before meeting us back in the room.
