Day 10 – Thursday, 9th August – MGM and Universal
We had another breakfast in the Orchid Court and then went off to MGM.
They went on Twilight Tower whilst I got some FPs for Rock n Rollercoaster. I then did a single rider on Rock n Roll. Afterwards I waited outside for them but they had gone on single rider too.
Next was the Muppets, then back to Rock n Roll with the fast passes, followed by Indiana Jones and the Backstreet Tour.
The temperature when we left the park was 103 o. On the way back we stopped in a Golden Corral for lunch, where we had a buffet lunch. It was okay is all I can say about it. The hubbie and eldest had wanted a steak but it was just the buffet lunch that was on offer.
After lunch we went back to the hotel pool. Me and youngest went down first, whilst the hubbie had a sleep up in the room because he had a headache. The eldest spent time phoning his American friends, shaved, showered, etc. I had a dip in the pool with the hubbie but the water was warm so didn’t really cool down till I had a shower back in the room.
Next we walked to Universal and went on Terminator, MiB (a few times). Whilst in MiB we saw a man we met last year who gets the top score 00000 on the ride. He is obsessed with the ride and gave us lots of tips, eg like just holding the trigger down all of the time and which targets gave the best scores. The kids loved talking to him and now get really high scores on the ride. The youngest’s high score was just short of 900000.
Afterwards we went on Earthquake and Jaws. The hubbie got wet again, watch out if you sit in row 7 which is where express passes get put first. On the way out we grabbed some chips and had a go on the fairground stalls. The hubbie won the youngest a Bart Simpson toy.
We went in the Starbucks at Universal Studios and had a much needed coffee. The eldest tried an orange mocha and loved it, it was a bit too sweet for me. Once the coffees were gone we went on The Mummy. The youngest said he was watching out for one of the CMs jumping out at him, so I turned round quickly and made him jump which was funny. However, just round the corner a CM jumped out on me, so the kids had the last laugh because I nearly hit the roof. Second time round we were expecting the CM to jump out on us, this time he waited till we passed then made a loud noise which made me jump and run up the line.
We had a browse round the Universal shop before walking back to the hotel.
