I'm curious to hear if anyone has gone to the The Holy Land Experience and what they thought.

My 9 y.o. son is very interested in that time of history and it looks very authentic, so we're going to check it out. But thought I'd see if anyone knew any more than what the guidebooks tell me.

Thanks!

I've been a couple of times and I think that it is quite successful at what it sets out to do. Of course, what it sets out to do is provide an experience for committed, mostly evangelical, Christians, so if you don't fit that description, then HLE might not be for you.

However, as far as history is concerned, one of the best things at HLE (IMHO) is the model of Jerusalem as it was in 66AD. Every hour they do a talk that relates the geography of old Jerusalem to the Bible stories, most particualrly the Passion of Christ. I thought it was very well done and while the emphasis is on religion it should be of interest to anyone, not just Christians.

Is there a bus that will pick you up at your hotel?
Where is it located and how much will it cost me?
How long did it take you to get there from your hotel?

Thank you for your information.

Here is the website link for the Holy Land Experience: www.theholylandexperience.com

It doesn't look like it has any type of bus that does that. It's up near Universal Studios. I found that through the Magicard website (www.orlandoinfo.com/magicard) that they have a link to get discounted tickets.

We're going to go there on my son's birthday, he'll be thrilled...he'll actually enjoy this place more than any of the WDW parks! :D

Here's the website for the Holy Land Experience. It has ticket pricing, location and other details. Don't know anything about shuttle buses, sorry. We really enjoyed our visit a while back. According to the website calendar, the new Scriptorium exhibit area is supposed to open in August 2002. Seems like it's about time for our family to return! :)
