Hi everyone!

My little family will be in Orlando the 23r of Jan - 29th. My husband will be at a Convention there and my 3 year old and I are tagging along because we got free air and hotel stay. Unfortunately we don't get to pick the hotel and his job chose The Hilton Orlando on Destination Parkway. My son and I will be on our own going to the theme parks and I am trying to find the easiest and least expensive way to get there. The Hotel offers a paid shuttle to Disney World but its $21 for each of us (So $42) a day round trip. I was wondering if anyone had stayed here and had found a less expensive way to get to the parks? At the end of the day if this is our best option we'll take it but I'm just looking for options. I called their concierge desk but she wasn't very knowledgeable and I didn't find much on google or TripAdvisor so I though you great DisBoarders might be some help. Thanks in advanced!

According to the Mears Taxi Estimator website, the cost from the Hilton Orlando to Disney's Contemporary Resort is $36.29. (I picked Disney's Contemporary Resort because that's the closest drop-off point to Magic Kingdom. Otherwise, you'd have to go to the Transportation and Ticket Center and transfer using the monorail or ferry.)

Starting Address: 6001 Destination Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32819
Ending Address: 4600 N World Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL, 32830

Note: I have no clue how car seats in cabs function.

I'm sure someone will eventually stop by with direct experience about ride-sharing companies. I don't agree with their business model, so I can't help with Uber or Lyft.

Not too many less expensive ways. You could rent a car but still have a $22 a day parking fee.

We used Lyft and Uber, and they were great, quick, and easy.

I had not used either of them before Orlando, and because of the promos when I signed up - I did not pay much at all.

I do not know about the car seats for Uber of Lyft.

If you brought an all in one car seat/stroller, that would solve that problem, and help you with your 3 year old in the Parks. Have fun Cari!

Hello Cari. I am wondering what you ended up doing with regard to transportation to the Disney parks. I will be at this hotel in July for a conference and bringing my two teenagers. I was also surprised with the price of the shuttle from the hotel. I am thinking about using Uber. Do you have any advice? Thank you!
