The Hill Family's Surprise Vac(PICS)*NEW*Final Thoughts,Tips & Pictures **4/25

:sad1: I'm so sad it's over. Thanks for sharing this perfectly fun trip report. And for the helpful tips. I can't even BEGIN to imagine how long it takes you to get ready!!

My only wish is that we could take a vacation long enough to spend the first day relaxing... someday...princess:

Can't wait til you start your pre TR on your upcoming 20th anniversary trip!

And I WILL be in GA in July... My sister lives in Peachtree City... close enough for tea?

Susie

Hi Sooze...
Thanks for reading.

As far as relaxing on the first day...I know what you mean. I thought it sounded good in theory anyway .;) The first day of this trip was beyond exhausting and we all never really go over it. My first trip to WDW was in 05 and we went to DTD and to dinner (Chef Mickey's) and then back to the resort. I think part of the problem this trip was we didn't get to do much pre-trip packing because of the surprise so we ran around like crazy people the day before we left and hardly got any sleep. It was embarrassing dosing off at CM's..we could hardly keep our eye's open. People probably thought we were drunk or something. At least I didn't start snoring...

Funny, my dad is a barber in Peachtree City...you won't be too far from me...about an hour and a half. I am east of Atl going towards Athens.

So let me know when you'll be stopping by...
You do like sweet tea...right?

:wave2: Darlene

What a great trip report! I really enjoyed reading it! Your family looks so nice, kind, sweet, and excited! Especially your children--I can just tell that they are good kids. I love that your daughter seems crazy (in the best way!, spontaneous and funny) and that your son isn't "too cool" for Disney. And about that lady who got spilled on twice? Maybe she was really grouchy and angry because she had gotten spilled on all day every day? Haha... but seriously, that's no need to overreact when people apologize! Oh yeah, I also really loved your poem and your clue hunt! That was so cool and it was the best ever! I loved it! :)

Hi and welcome to my TR...

What sweet comments about my family. Thank you!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
I think my kids are great but they each have their own "issues" we have to deal with. You know you get one straightened out and the other ones goes crazy. It is a conspiracy, I think. Luckily, we are not outnumbered.
We do have a lot of fun together though.:cool1:

I am glad you enjoyed the surprise and poem. It was so much fun to do but it was very hard to keep the secret. But it was all worth it to see their faces  . On a sad note, my memory card was defective:mad: and I didn't get any pictures from the scavenger hunt. I kept trying to take the picture and I was getting this error message. I didn't know what it meant. I had never seen that before. I was so caught up in the moment I didn't pick up the film camera either. :confused3 So I only have 2 or 3 pictures from it and they aren't very good. Hopefully, I will be able to always remember it.

By the way, I read your TR from DLP (Easter) and I really enjoyed it. Loved your pictures. It is so cool to see other parks and hear about the similarities and differences. Do you live in France? You could be neighbors with Johnny Depp.....

Thanks so much for your tips. We actually pack 4 pairs of socks per each day and use two pairs at a time to prevent blistering! So sad that it's over, but before you know it it'll be time to go again!

Hi serendipity

Oh my, your wedding is getting so close. I know you are so excited. :yay: And you are going on a disneymoon too! :thumbsup2 Well, I can't wait to hear all about it and to see your pictures. Yesterday was my 20th anniversary. I can hardly believe that 20 years have passed. We really wanted to go somewhere...just the two of us, but we couldn't afford it. (We have had many unexpected bills lately.) So, since we couldn't do something for us and have a family vacation we decided to celebrate all together during our WDW vacation in Oct. :cloud9: Our kids want us to wear the bride and groom Mickey ears...that ought to be a hoot!:lmao:

I wish you and your (almost) hubby all the best with lots of love & laughter.
I am sending you many blessings and pixie dustpixiedust:

Hey GlendaMax...

I TOTALLY agree with this one :rolleyes1
So funny that you were as nervous as I was. I was REALLY worried that it would be weird for me since I was the only single one there. But I had a GREAT time, and regretted that we didnt arrange to meet up again afterwards.

It is funny that we were worried and feeling the same things. I had decided if you were all really weird or something; I would excuse myself to the restroom and escape.:rotfl:

This September, I'm going to meet some DISers 9/13 at the Tower of Terror (no, I'm not gettting on), and I'm hoping to meet some others as well.

I want to come....
OK Glenda...like I tell my kids, you really must face your fears. This is an awesome ride. I know you will love it if you do it. :scared1:

When you didnt come back for a while, I was afraid that you wouldnt finish it! To me, you have some of the best photos overall, especially of the FOOD :cloud9:

I know, I know...it took me forever to finish...6 months or so. YIKES! But I did finish and that is the point isn't it? :rotfl:
I am glad you liked the pictures...next trip I probably take even more...I have acquired more memory cards :yay: :yay: .

So sorry it's over, but hopefully you'll write another one for your next trip in October!

I am going to try and take some notes this time...
I can't wait to hear about your first DVC experience. I will try and not turn green;) with envy. Perhaps I will win the YOAMD DVC giveaway...yeah, that's it!!:rolleyes1

Keep in touch. Send hugs and kisses to Ms. Delores for me.

I just finished up reading your trip report, and I loved every second!

You children are adorable, and the shot of your daughter the last day in the MK got me a little choked up, poor thing!

We're actually arriving at WDW the same day as your family this October, and leaving one day prior, if I see ya'll I'll have to give you a big Disney hello!

October won't come fast enough!
At least I have some great trip reports to pass the time, and keep my excited.
:cheer2:

I so loved your trip report. You have kids the same age as mine(except I have an extra one 2 1/2 yrs old). Its always fun to read when you have something in common. Although, your kids look so much more well behaved then mine are...

We are on the countdown to our trip in Mid June:thumbsup2

Thanks for such a wonderful trip report and your list of hints and tips,It will come in handy :)

Hi sunlver,

I am glad you enjoyed the TR. As far as the behavior goes...my kids are wild, stubborn, loud & argumentative. Quite frankly, I would worry if they weren't:rotfl2: . Like I said before...we all have our 'issues' Some of us just hide ours and some don't mind displaying them for all the world to see:rotfl: .

So...are you going to write a TR in June? I hope so. I hope your trip will be full of magical pixie dustpixiedust: . I look forward to hearing all about it.:woohoo:

Have fun,
 Darlene

Thank you for a wonderful trip report, the great tips and especially the fantastic pictures. I couldn't always read the report directly when you posted the next installment, but I always catched up. Thanks for sharing - I really enjoyed the trip with your family.:thumbsup2
I hope we'll get to read another sometime...

Hi TinkerFairy,

So glad you found our TR and thanks for taking the time to read it.

Yes, my DD did look so sad, didn't she. As you can tell from the pictures she has a million different faces and a million moods.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. What fun!!! Are you getting married at WDW? I will keep my eyes open for some newlyweds. :goodvibes I had posted to serendipity (who is getting married next week) that my DD wants us to wear the bride & groom ears since we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary at Disney. I am very excited about our upcoming vacation!!:woohoo: I have never been in late Oct so I am hoping for low crowds and perfect weather!

Where are you staying? Are you guys doing the DDP?

Well, I will be looking for you... Maybe we'll see each other...I hope so!

I am sending you some pixie dust and my best wishes!pixiedust:

Hi Toony,
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the pictures. :goodvibes I appreciate you hanging in through the end...never thought I'd make it. You probably didn't either.:) I think I will write another in Oct since we are going to do some different things. I will try and be more efficient.

Have a great summer.

Great photos and wonderful trippie, I love that photo of Wishes over teh castle, what camera do you have? Wonderful pic!! :)

We are getting married at WDW, my dream come true!

10/24/07 is the big day and we can't wait.

I say you guys go ahead and wear the bride and groom ears!
I had to have mine in advance, so I ended up getting a set off Ebay a few months ago. It's taken all my self control to not wear them every day.

We're staying at Pop, and doing DDP for the first time, which I'm really excited to try. As soon at my 180 days hit last week I was up at at em making ADR's to try to start planning around where I want to eat.

We're also trying to plan on some costumes for MNSSHP, which I'm really looking forward to!

Hi cherokeemamma!!!

I now know that I have you to blame:

#2 Carry your Drivers License everywhere!!! Double Duh!!! (as well as a Credit Card.)

If you had finished your report in a timerly fashion, I would've never left my DL at home instead of taking it to the airport!!! :lmao:

Seriously, I loved your report. You and your sweet family are so much fun to follow through Disney World! I hope you're going back soon so we can get another tale.

Treacle44 Thanks and I am glad you enjoyed it. (I have the Wishes picture as my desktop)
As far as my camera goes...I have a Nikon D50. I    photography. It is a great camera if you are in the market. It is a digital SLR.

Funny thing is I just got the camera about 3 weeks before the trip. I really had no idea how "the digital" stuff worked (I had only shot film) but I was really pleased with most of my shots.
FYI - The photopass photographers use a Nikon D70...the next step up from mine.

I am hoping to take a class before we head back to WDW in Oct to at least have a clue what some of the settings mean.;) Thanks again!:goodvibes

Littlekid58 Thanks so much for reading! Glad you enjoyed it.:)

TinkerFairy Congratulations!! I know you have to be soooo excited!

We stayed at POP on our last 2 trips - I am sure you will enjoy it. This year we are trying ASMo. We may change to POR:confused3 .

I wish you guys all the best and I hope your Disneymoon will be especially magical. I be looking for you!:)

BTW Where have you made your ADRs?

kpk89 Hi Mean Mama!

I must say that I really like the wisecherokeemamma title. Yeah!
 I will start having my kiddos refer to me in that manner:rotfl2: .
Yeah Right:rolleyes: ! They would love that!

I really do enjoy the role of scapegoat. So, whatever helps you feel better works for me...you can always count on me!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks so much for reading my TR and for hanging in throughout the looonnnggg process. I have to get caught up on all my reading now. I have yours and PrincessV's latest to read.

I am so looking forward to my trip in Oct...When do you all return?

I have to tell you this one little tidbit. Every time I think of RnR I think of your Conner. I always think of the "saladhead" comment. It makes me laugh every time. :thumbsup2 Don't ask me why that stuck in my mind, but it did.

Have a great summer. TTFN

Wow. I caught up! I love it. You did an awesome job. In fact, I included your name in my trip report as one of the best trip report writers I have read. :)

I am so glad I came across your trip report. :cool1: :cool1: I just read it from start to finish. I am also going to print out all of your advice and use it for my November trip with my dbf :wizard:
Unfortunately I will not have the option to relax when I go in July -- It is only for a long (or rather short) weekend!! :sad1:

Awe, you are so sweet. :goodvibes Thank you for such a nice compliment. I am glad you enjoyed it. I wondered what had happened to you because I haven't seen you on here.:confused3

I'll so happy you wrote a TR. What is it called? I'm going to look for it.

Well, I hope all is going well. Have a great summer!:thumbsup2

snowbell: Hi! Glad you found me! Thanks for reading.:goodvibes

As far as the relaxing day, it sounds great in theory. I have yet to actually experience it.:rotfl2: I am hoping that my first day for the next trip will be somewhat restful. I don't think it matters what you do; I just think the first day is exhausting.

I see you have two trips in the works...you're a lucky girl.:thumbsup2 I hope that you write a TR. Would love to hear all about your adventure to WDW.

Have a magical time and a wonderful summer. pixiedust:
