Cast of Characters
Michele - 40, The Disney Crazed wife
Have been to WDW 6 times but not in the last 10 years.
Jeff - 41, Wonderful husband who let his wife go crazy with
planning this Trip! Has never been to WDW and didn't really
Know what to expect. ( I think his wife scared him a little bit
with all the planning hee hee)
We are off !
Our Plane was to take off at 6:30am on 11/15 (mon) so we we were up and out by 4:30!!My father took us to the airport and dropped us off( and surely went home to go back to bed)
We were leaving from Syracuse NY where we have had snow already and it's just damn cold here!!!! Soooo..... Sunny Florida HERE WE COME!!!! We could not wait.
I really wasn't looking forward to that little puddle jumper plane that we were going to have to take to Pittsburg but we were going to WDW!!!
All went smooth!!! My first sigh of relief!!!
No problems with the 2nd plane ( nice big one with jets!!!)...... 2nd sigh of relief!!!
Here we are... you can feel the warm weather as soon as you get off the plane.
We head over to get our rental. Months ago I started looking for rental deals. We got a deal from Dollar $138 for the week. Well
We went to get it.... no line.... walked up..... fast service ... and out the door to get the car. Wow, that was easy. Go to get the car and we were upgraded to a nice big 4 door. The first sign that this was going to be a magical vacation.
Well , we head on over to the AKL where we are going to spend out first two nights.
What a feeling when you enter under that nice big sign that says WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!
My husband could not get over the roads and how large it was.
And you gotta love the purple road signs!!!!
OK... so we pull into AKL and loving it already.
We valet parked the whole time so we felt very spoiled.
We head into to check in
what a lobby!!
We just had to stand there and check it out . ( and smell... ymmmm)Chistas tree was up and looking Great. ( Although, now that we have entered into the land of sun it is feeling like summer again, so why is there a tree all decorated? hee hee)
Check in was a breeze.Once again. No one in line so we got right up there and everything was done in just a couple minutes.
So up to the room we go
Very nice room. We looked out our window for some animals but none were around to be seen. Oh well, It was around 12:30 so maybe later in the evening.
We did the usual settling in and then had to go off to explore. What a fun resort to walk around inside and out.
We went down to Mara's to grab some lunch. My husband had the African stew which was very good. I had the Chicken pizza which was also quite good. This was a nice little counter service.
After more walking around and exploring we rested a bit.
Dinner that night was at Boma's. Yummy!!!! It was fun trying the different foods. Now, I have heard people say that the food was sweet. There were a couple dishes that I found to have a sweetness but NOT all of them. Many different things to try.
The desserts were to die for ! OH MY GOD. Zebra domes... just as good as we were told. Then they had a cheescake that was great, then they had....... ohhh who am I kidding ... we tried almost all of the desserts and were loving them all.
Here is the problem...... we were so full we were feeling a little sick. So be careful when you go there. We surely over did it.
We made the mistake of heading over to DTD after dinner.
( Just a reminder that we woke around 3:30 that morning to get on our flight, and now we are so full we can't move) We thought we would like to try and walk off this dinner. AUGHHHHHHHH
We did look around but we were pretty quiet and finally just looked at each other and knew we had to head back to get some sleep. We were off to Magic Kingdom tomorrow!!!!
So far the start of one Magical Vacation!!!
