The Haunted Mansion, Why NO gift shop??

I just don't understand it. The Haunted Mansion is IMHO the best attraction at WDW. Everything else has a gift shop but all the Haunted Mansion has is a small cart nearby with hardly anything dealing with the mansion, just a bunch of Nightmare before Christmas stuff. Come on Disney give us a store! Sorry for my ranting but I just needed to say this. I am sure I am not alone in my feelings. :hmghost: :hmghost: :hmghost: :hmghost: :hmghost:

Well, no, really - it may seem like every other attraction has an attached gift shop, but a lot of them actually don't. There IS a cart with some HM stuff on the left after you exit.

There is a rumor that they are adding a giftshop in the near future. Anyone else hear that?

Actually, for the rides that have no shop, you can find nearby shops that carry relatable merchandise.

For example: Peter Pan toys are carried in Tinkerbell's Treasures and Space Mtn. related "space" things are carried in the Merchant of Venus.

My only thinking is that the OP is maybe looking for collectibles/t-shirts/etc. based on the "actual" HM characters & perhaps, rooms. :confused3

The cart has a doombuggy tag, some pins and a couple of small items. No, T-shirts, Hats or any other type of collectibles. TOT has a shop, Rock-n-Roller coaster has one even Space Mountain has one so why not the Haunted Mansion. I was there last week and couldn't even find a t-shirt. Also what ever happened to 999 happy haunts?

You are right on the money. That is exactally what I was talking about.

I think there actually is a store that sells HM merchandise- at least I walked into one the last time I was there! It had HM t-shirts etc. I bought the HM Monopoly game there. I can't remember the name of the store- but it's right there- not too far from HM.

If you are referring to the Yankie Trader. They didn't have anything a couple of weeks ago and the CM said they have not had any in quite some time but did not know why. I am just trying to find a T-shirt in a 2xl or bigger that's all. :goodvibes

the kitchenish store right outside of the gates of HM used to sell HM/villian merchandise but when we were there in July looking for a t-shirt they didn't have any of that stuff anymore. The cart did have one HM t-shirt but they didn't have any size L and we checked back 3 different days that week and they never got any more.

I actually find it refreshing to get off a ride and not be thrown into a gift shop!

Yeah, its kinda funny isnt it, a lot of people complain about the gift shops after every ride now someone's complaining that there isn't one.

I can see the good and bad of each. Especially after the rain on Tuesday when i was at WDW, it was actually nice to be able to spend a few mins looking around a gift shop instead of just getting rained on

They don't have to have one inside the mansion but it would be nice if they had some place in the whole park that offered T-shirts and hats year round.

Never thought about this even though HM is one of my favorites. I'll be sure to pay attention next time.

HM is one of my very favorites, too! When we were there in June, the 6 of us wore T-shirts from our favorite rides/attractions one day at MK. I got my HM shirt on the first day we were there from the little cart outside of HM. When we went back in September, I went over to the cart to see if they had any new stuff I just "had" to have! ;) It was all Nightmare before Christmas stuff. I know that not every ride has to have a gift shop, but I am like you, I would love some more HM stuff! :thumbsup2

I have officially seen it all. Someone asking for more ride gift shops!!!!! Wow!

OP you may be in luck, a few weeks ago someone posted that the plans for the next HM rehab included a gift shop and improvements and additions to the ride itself (the spider room was mentioned). So hopefully you will get your gift shop! I'm sure it will be really cool.

WOW I just can't beleive that Disney is passing up a huge chance to sell us stuff!! :rotfl2:
As popular as HM is you would think someone would have put this into a plan a long time ago.

Perhaps we need to all get out our crystal balls and see what the future holds for this...

I love ride gift shops! I love all gift shops. I know that when we exit the Pooh ride I still linger in that gift shop for 20 minutes browsing and maybe buying and I am not even a big Pooh fan!
