I did, it was funny though. I have absolutely no idea why there are only 999 ghosts. My guess is bc it is 666 upside down and it fits a basic plot. Allowing that famous line "Any Volunteers?". If you have a question as to why 666 would be the number that Walt Disney would use read The Da Vinci Code.

i am astounded how seriously some of you are taking this subject. a kid (no offense) acts out with typical teenage braggadocio, and some of you react as if this is an important subject worthy of your repetitive posts. do you not have jobs or families that would warrant better use of the time you're wasting on this vapid "chatter." if you are so intent on educating this youngster who didn't ask for your "life lessons" ; how's about you get a job as a teacher or mentor and make a real difference in the world. otherwise, let's leave him/her alone and stop glorying in the fact that some adults with more time and resources to visit the haunted mansion can put a kid back in his place when he gets a little too excited about his favorite ride.

p.s. please don't welcome me to the dis. i've been coming here for years. i just usually don't post because i am not privy to the status of future crowds; nor am i desirous of repetitively posting my choice of favorite mountain.

Wolf, this is a pretty easy one, and it isn't because the Imagineers wanted a demonic reference created by Christianity. Try some of the HM trivia sites, do a little more searching on doombuggies, etc. and I'll bet you'll find out the correct answer.

I really am rooting for you to FIND OUT rather than to put out any old guess. You can do it!

Oh are you going to love this. The bride at the end of the ride is called "little leota". The voice of Madame Leota is Eleanor Audley the actress who lended her voice to Maleficent. The voice of Little Leota is done by Leota Toombs. Leota Toombs is the daughter of Harvey Toombs. You can see Harvey's credit in the opening of movies like Peter Pan. Leota Toombs provided the face of Madame Leota and the face and voice of Little Leota.

I have just discovered something while patrolling Google. It turns out that Leota Toombs is the name that the woman had when she did the voice of and face of little leota and the face of Madame Leota. Leota Toombs was MARRIED to Harvey Toombs they were not father/daughter. She then got remarried to a man named thomas and her name is now Leota Thomas. I think that Harvey Toombs her ex husband was a direction animator. Eleanor audley the voice of Madame Leota also voiced Lady Tremaine.

No I don't have anything better to do, I have a great job that pays me well, and affords me the time to do things like this.

Do you mean like coach little league baseball for 6 years??? I mean I have only been doing that and helping the boad run the league as well....but I wouldn't have expected you to know that since you don't post here as you mentioned.

Granted, I didn't monitor this thread too closely over the weekend, but I'm mad at myself for missing the CLASSIC message board lame post of, "Don't you people have jobs? Why do you have some much time to post HERE??" I love that one, one of my all time favs...somebody with enough time to post on a message board questioning others who also have enough time to post on a message board...

Then again, that same poster said they don't post here much because, "they aren't privy to future crowd levels," and won a lot of points back with me on that one alone...

I'm always amused when I post a ridiculous reply. It is really obvious (or so I think) that all of the content in the post is outrageous and nonsencical. However, someone will pick out one thing in the post and reply that it is incorrect. When ALL of it is incorrect. The CMs need to still be reminded to not keep the dust and cobwebs after 20 some years

That 999 ghosts is used because it is 666 upside down (read The DaVinci Code, he says -- I suppose that is what Walt told the Imagineers as well).

That there are 26 Doombuggies (can you imagine the lines?)

That the 1,000th ghost is some dead little boy or something

That the building is designed to be late 1600s, early 1700s (nope -- early 1800s)

All the while constantly bumping the thread to keep it on page one (oops, I guess I am doing that as well)

And then getting mad when he is challenged...
