(by the way, did you know that there are 46 teacups - 6 brown, 6 black, 6 white, 12 rainbow colored, and 20 with big yellow happy faces...and the "drunken" mouse is Fievel from An American Tale)

Actually I looked it up and Dustin Diamond (Screech) really IS the yellow teacup. ;)

Are you SURE?

I think that just means he is the understudy for "Chip" over at MGM's "Beauty and the Beast: On Stage.

Many people don't know this but Johnny Depp is also the inspiration behind one of the dolls in Its a Small World. His likeness was used to create the blond doll on the ferris wheel.

Kevin Bacon is also seen in IASW, he is one of the Indonesian Princesses.

Topic?

We don't need no stinkin' TOPIC!

Wow, that's fascinating information! But I bet you didn't know that if you look really hard on Splash Mountain on your left hand side as you're about to descend into the Laughing Place, there's actually an audio-animatronic of Mickey Mouse strangling Bugs Bunny.

So if you are playing the Kevin Bacon game, can you connect him to Johnny Depp with one step --- IASW??

I don't even know what topic this is!!!

Last thing I read, Kevin Bacon was an Indonesian princess on It's a Small World -- I'm not sure that that is true, but it makes sense

I'm so glad this thread got interesting again!

Please! And if you wrote a little story about it, I'd love to hear that too!

On Topic:

Thurl Ravenscroft is well-known as the voice of Kellogg's "Tony the Tiger".
He is also prominently featured in the HM, but not as the narrator.

He's the BASS vocalist in the singers of the HM song (Grim Grinning Ghosts).
His image can be seen as one of the "singing busts" in the graveyard scene.
Thurl is the singer with the mustache, the one who is often mistaken by guest as "Walt Disney" (Walt does not appear in the attraction.

TonyThurl.jpg
Here's a "GRRRRRR-ATE" pic of Thurl and his buddy, Tony:

The HM's NARRATOR is the wonderful voice-over artist, Paul Frees.
He was also the voice of "Boris Badenoff" in the Rocky & Bullwinkle shows.
He is ALSO the voice of "Poppin' Fresh" the Pillbury Doughboy!!
(Hard to believe that deep bass of the HM narrator can create that high fragile "giggle" of the Doughboy!)

Mr. Frees is also MANY MANY of the voices in Pirates.

He was used by Disney for other attractions as well, and his talents are heard in countless movies and TV shows.

He was able to create such wide VARIETY of voices, he was hired to "dub" many foriegn-language films (some where he played MANY of the various roles by himself!)

If you buy a copy of the CD that features various audio versions of the HM (it can be found at WDW, DLR and sometimes on Ebay) on it there are rare "out-takes" of Paul reading the "narrator lines" for the original HM. Some of these are hysterical when he flubs and/or tries "different ways" of reading the (now famous) lines.

Sadly, Paul Frees died a number of years ago.
And Thurl Ravenscroft passed away just last year.

But these wonderful talents can still be enjoyed by millions in the Disney attractions we love.

Yes of course, I did know this. You can see this during the first 2 miliseconds of the free fall, the ride slows down ever so slightly (they slow the free fall so the pictures don't come out fuzzy), I believe this one made it into the latest Hidden Mickey book!

Thanks for the above post! I love listening for familar voices in different attractions.

Usually not -- hits about 75 most days. If it gets to hot, go to Animal Kingdom -- lots of indoor stuff there in the air conditioned cool. Check out the Safari -- tha animals look almost real!!!!
