The Hat begins removal Jan. 7th

I'm betting some form of earful tower will be the icon again. When we were there in June my mom bought a picture holder with those little alligator clips. Each of the 4 clips had the park icon on it and one was the hat. When we got home she ended up giving it to her mom because she forgot to get her something. Now I'm wondering if it will be a collectors item lol. I bought stuff from the Earport in December and the "extra buy" as I call it was either a back pack or a throw. (Anyone know what those things are called? Spend x amount and get this for only x more?) anyways it looks ike an old vacation/post card announcement and for the Dhs icon it is the tower again.

Was it a tote bag?

As I won't really miss it but it will be Different to see the area with nothing there. But a better view of the Chinese Theater. I am sooooooooooo hoping it is NOT anything to do with Frozen :worried: Sorry just so not a Frozen fan
I couldn't agree more.

They've lopped off the tip and it looks like the gold swirly is all gone.

I do care. But mostly because I'm curious.

Do you guys think it will be gone by February 1?

I'd say most of it yes but the walls will probably still be up around the base. I've heard it's supposed to take about 6 weeks total. So a little less than 5 weeks left.

Yes this all over night. Disney wouldn't do something like this during the day.
I'm a little surprised by that. They don't hesitate to do construction but I suppose that visible demolition is different.

Well most of the hub construction is during the night. As well as rivers of light at AK. Avatar is different because it's in an area not seen by guests so they can do work during the day. I think it really depends on the project. With the hat I don't think Disney wants machines running in the middle of a park in the middle of the day where everyone can see it. Especially because with that hat they are cutting pieces off so I'm sure it's a loud deconstruction with the metal saws.
