INTRODUCTION
So, youve clicked on the link and youve read the title of this thread. Youre thinking, Who spends their whole SUMMER at Walt Disney World? Maybe youre thinking that Im really rich or really crazy. Well, guess what? Youre right!
No, just kidding. Im neither (well, I might be kind of crazy). I got the most awesome opportunity to spend the summer at WDW because I was chosen to be a part of their college program!
I know that its almost a YEAR since the summer of 2006 (oh my gosh, already?), but I have a couple of reasons for posting this trip report now:
1.) I just rejoined the boards and so I just found out about trip reports! I used to be a member before, but I forgot my password. Anyway, I love trip reports and reading all about other peoples experiences.
2.) Ive already posted a couple of trip reports in the Disneyland Paris section.
Thats because Im currently studying in France for a semester and I got to go there twice! YAYYY! It was great. But
that forum is a little quieter than this one
yup, this one has all of the action.
Basically, I have been dying to post a thread in this section because I love WDW and I had the craziest summer there. I want to be able to share my experiences with people who I know would appreciate them (you loyal DIS board readers). Theres so much to share: photos, experiences, memories. I am really excited about this! So, lets get started!
First of all, Ill introduce you a little bit to me. Im LaMagique and I am 20, but at the time of all these crazy shenanigans, I was 19. I have always loved Disney. My earliest Disney memory is one of my first memories ever. I was four years old and in pre-school and it was a rainy day. Our teacher told us we were going to watch The Little Mermaid instead of play outside and I was super-excited. I was obsessed with The Little Mermaid. I loved Ariel and pretty much wanted everything having to do with her. I remember my favorite little outfits when I was younger were all Ariel. I even had three Ariel barbies! Yup, I was a Disney kid from the beginning.
My first trip to a Disney park was when I was three. It was Disneyland, but unfortunately, I dont remember anything from that trip. I do know that I went back a couple of times when I was five, but it wasnt until I was 7 that I was able to go to the biggest, the baddest, the coolest Disney Resort in the World: WALT DISNEY WORLD! I had a great time, of course, but it wouldnt be until I was 17 that I would make my journey back there again. I did go to Disneyland many times in-between that, though.
Me at Disney when I was 3 and 7
So, all of this background is to let you know that I have adored Disney since the beginning of my life. I dont know exactly when I knew that I wanted to work there, but it was probably around when I was 10 years old. I got the idea and knew that I had to work there.
Well, I got to college and got the best roommate ever, who we will call Kahne. We hit it off so well and she loved Disney just as much as me. Her family went there very often and stayed in the resorts. We both talked about how we wished we could just live there forever. Well, our second year of college, we decided that we wanted to plan a Spring Break trip to Disney. It was right before this Spring Break trip that we started tossing around the idea of possibly working there THAT summer. And with that, my journey to WDW begins
