i'm waiting for my cabin number sailing 14th September , if i'm not happy with the cabin could i pay to upgrade (there is any fee for this) ?

The two 7As with undersized verandahs are 5188 and 5688. We're waiting for our 7A GTY assignment as well, and I'm hoping we don't get one of those!

I had a tease this morning - I actually couldn't log in to my reservation and I got the message that someone was making changes or was reviewing info. I thought - OOH they are assigning. Alas, no...not yet.

Yes you can. No fee except the difference in price.

I am crossing my fingers for you Sept 1 folks.....I am on the 8/22 Dream and although I got mine a couple of weeks ago, I was pretty sure I was going to be fired towards the end because I kept checking it so much!!! Here's hoping for pixie dust!!!!

Because they booked GTY rooms.

If you aren't familiar with GTY, this is a good explanation.

What is Guarantee Status?

Guarantee Status means that when you book a particular category, Disney is not able to assign you a stateroom number at the time of booking. As you get closer to your sail date, Disney will assign you a room number. You can end up in any stateroom that is in the category you booked. However, at their discretion, Disney may upgrade you. It's not necessarily likely that you'll receive an upgrade - but it is possible.

If you try to book a stateroom and you want to be next to or near (or maybe, even - far away from) a particular stateroom, you may wish to book a the next highest category so you can confirm a particular stateroom number where you need it.

This is just like any other Disney Cruise Line booking. There's nothing special about; other than the fact that you won't know which particular stateroom you're in. All the normal deposit, change and cancellation policies will apply.

On some confirmations/documentation, you'll see this referred to as "GTY". That's an abbreviation for Guarantee status.

Guarantee status is similar to a room assignment. Suppose you book category 8A. You go to pick a room, and you must select "guarantee status". You would then talk about this as "category 8A, guarantee status".

We are sailing on the Fantasy on 8/31 and just got our rom assignment. We booked a 5e GTY and ended up with room 10014 which is a 5a. My kids will be happy that we are near the pool and the drink stations. They are easy to please!! I am pretty excited to finally know where I am will be staying.

Ps. I should let you guys know it can get far "worse". For the OGT we booked for a sailing 30 days out, we didn't get our assignment until 6 days before sailing. I really thought I'd lose my mind then - ha ha. I know GTY's are different and typically assigned earlier but I'm having flash backs!
