The Gross Things you see.....

Oh Geeeeeze!!! As if my germ-a-phobia was not bad enough!!! :rotfl: I have been freaking out (a little) about the upcoming trip and wipes and purell and such. Ditto on the peeing kid thing. I saw a Mom take her little girl and hold her up over the grass in MK and let her pee. I was horrified!!!

My DS (who at the time was 1 year old) became very very ill on our last trip to DW. He ran such a high fever that we had to call a Dr. to come to our hotel room. Did you know Disney hotel services has someone they call to do this??? It was heaven! Anyway, the Dr. came and $250.00 later we discovered he had picked up a fever virus from somewhere in the parks while we were there!!! :scared1: I sooo don't want this to happen again, but I guess you either go and have a good time or you let the fear dominate your trip.

I will be stock piling wipes and purell and those little spray bottles of Lysol LOL!!!!!

I was telling DH about this thread, and he asked me if I had posted the grossest thing I had seen. I said that I didn't think I'd seen anything very cross at WDW. He, DD and DS looked at me as if I'd lost my mind. Then they said, "The boat..." That spurred my memory.

On our first trip, our family was getting settled on the boat back to Fort Wilderness. An older couple was sitting in the seats ahead of us. All of a sudden, the gentleman turned to the side of the boat. Projectile vomit followed. Not just a bit, but an enourmous amount. This happened several more times. My family had a hard time controlling our many emotions--shock, disbelief, empathy, and giggling.

I guess I must "turn a blind eye" to gross things at Disney... maybe I'm too wrapped up in the magic and fun, because on my two 7 day trip in the last 2 years, I've seen nothing like anything others are describing. :confused3

Although, on my trip last November I was probably the source of something gross that other people saw.. and it was surely gross for me. I caught a stomach bug of some sort (thought it was food poisoning at first) and tossed my cookies in the Virgin Megastore washroom. I wasn't too fun kneeling on the grimy floor of one of the stalls. The next day at Animal Kingdom, while waiting in line to catch a bus to Epcot.. the bus was seconds away from pulling in, and I had to say to my friend "just a minute, wait there" while I ran out of line and lost my lunch in a bush. That was a horrible feeling... I'd rather not be sick in public. I'm glad that it did not happen ON the bus. Luckily, the line for the Epcot bus was long enough that when I returned to line being ill, the bus had not left yet (immediately upon arriving at Epcot, I bought anti-nausea medication!!) Later that night, I again was sick in a bush... this time on the way back to our room at Pop.

Those few gross moments of my trip are ones I'd rather not remember. I hope no one was too disgusted at the time... or now reading my story.

:hug:How terrible! Glad you powered on! Did you continue onto Epcot after that?!? Impressive!

This story just proves that people shouldn't be on here explaining how 'grossed out' they were about people 'getting sick.' If I saw something like this I would feel so bad for the person who was sick. It's not like they can help it.:confused3

I think that's more of a "I was sick at Disney..." story, rather than a "gross things" story. It's not like you can help puking!

This thread has made me terrified for our trip....I have a "phobia" of other people vomitting.....have a panic attack. Ive been to disney twice and didnt see anyone throw up!!! Now im worried disney suddenly became vomit capital fo the world!

Me and my mom were getting off the its a small world ride at MK, and when were crossing the bridge, there's a piece of baby crap half covered in baby powder! It was GROSS!!!! it must of fell out of a dipper

My son's the only one I've seen barf at WDW!

Here goes. Standing in line at TOT at HS and this guy standing near us had some wax in the edge of his ear. No big deal. But it was July so as we are standing in line in the hot Florida sun, this small piece of wax starts to slowly ooze out. By the time we were at the loading area it was no longer a small piece it was a long, green trail of slime. It almost looked like he had an earring! :scared:

omg :scared1: that's disgusting!

I am a pretty laid back person... not a neat freak at all...and the only time I even carry hand sanitizer is when we're at the soccer fields with porta potties... I always get so grossed out by the countless women who use the bathroom, come out of the stall, maybe fix their hair, but never bother to wash their hands... Especially in a public bathroom , this is just the grossest thing to me... and you would think that they would get the hint if there are 5 other people lecturing their kids on the importance...yuck!!

You can't always be sure what you see is the whole story. I don't usually wash my hands after using the bathroom.....at least not at the sink. I carry a package of wet wipes in my purse everywhere I go. Too many times when I've gone to use the sinks in a public bathroom they have been dirty, no soap, no paper towels, water everywhere and nowhere to put your purse down without it getting soaked. So, if you saw me come out of the bathroom stall you might assume I hadn't washed my hands - but you'd be wrong. I washed them while I was still IN the stall and flushed the wipe away. ;)

My workplace has one bathroom stall that has the sink in it. I usually use this one since it has a counter to put my apron on (it is heavy with change menus etc. since I waitress). However I always wash my hands in the main sink because I don't want customers to think I did not! Anyway I am glad you do wash your hands :) but you probably aren't the norm.

Agreed. I usually use a bottle of hand sanitizer after I get out of the bathroom and I always get nasty looks from people. I still wash my hands but some of the sinks that I have seen, well I could deal with out it haha.

Once I got off of Space Mountain at DL, and I saw throw-up everywhere. It was so gross.

Another time, I was at DCA, in the Redwood Trails. I went down a slide and it was a little wet, but I'm like,"OK, no biggie." But then I get to the bottom and I landed in a puddle of pee!!!!:scared:

The same day, I was climbing around that place, and I stuck my hand in a HUUUUGE puddle of drool!!!:worried:

Fun fact. Hand sanitizer is only 99.9% effective AFTER washing your hands.

Just arrived at Castaway Cay, as we were walking to the restroom, some very drunk teenage-looking kids walked up and puked all over the sidewalk right in front of us. So disgusting! We told a cast member and they came and cleaned it up and talked with the offenders. Lovely sight for my then 3 year old (and not too appealing for me being pregnant and trying to battle morning sickness!)

Also, one time a few years back we were eating pizza outside Pizza Planet at DHS, and suddenly we noticed a young boy standing on the fountain peeing! The parents noticed and were horrified and quickly rushed him to the bathroom. It was actually more funny than gross.
