I have reservations to stay with my family at the Pop on May 14-22. I can't wait to get there! : I've read so many good things while searching this thread, it has been a lifesaver! I do have 3 little questions that maybe you guys can help me with


1- My mother made the reservations on the phone but they never asked her if she had any preferences. Should I call now and ask if we can have a room on a specific section (I've heard nothing but praise for the 50's area), or should I wait till I'm there and see if they can place us?

2- Can you ask for a cot?

3- I've searched this thread for more information on internet access. I've read they do have dial-up. This is the first time I'm going to need to connect while on vacation, so this is my first time doing this. If I use DSL at home and don't have a dial-up account, does that mean I can't connect?

1. You can call and request the area you want, but remember it is just a request.

2. There wouldn't be room in there for a cot.

3. You can access your account from dial up. Just make sure you know the email address - i.e. I have Verizon DSL and to access my email from anywhere I use www.netmail.verizon.net

Pop is actually in the process of installing high-speed into the rooms. It's not 100% yet, but they're working on it!

Welcome to the DIS!! We'll be at POP the same time you are...5/15-20!!! I've stayed in the 50's area twice now, and really liked it. My dd, 12, is a bit upset with me since I didn't request the 50's bldgs again!! I'm taking my chances and let the pieces fall where they may, so to speak. I did request non-smoking, higher floor, facing the lake. We'll see where they put us.
You'll love POP..it's a fun resort!! If you see a family of three...tall, almost grey haired dad, tall redheaded dd and frazzled mom, say hi!!!!

Okay here is question. I have never put in for a request accept for non-smoking for my son because he has asthma. Who do you call to make a request for like 4th floor and etc. Also we are arriving probably about 9pm to the hotel. I assume this will make it hard for us to get a request met.

Just wanted to post because I will be there in just over 14 days!!!! WOOO HOOOOO!!!!!

When do you arrive? I'll be at Pop for the first time on 5/19.

We are going to be at Pop in June and was curious as to how big the fridges were? Does anyone have any photos of these? (Yes we know that you have to request these and that they are $10 a day.)

They are not big but will hold a gallon of milk and a couple of water bottles in the refrig section, the freezer holds a couple of water bottles. Of course you can jam a few things on top of the milk, but sometimes the items freeze.
I might venture to guess it is around 20 to 22 inches high, and the capacity, well it holds (barely) the gallon of milk.

My DH and I plan on getting the refillable mugs for our morning coffee fix. Does anyone know if Everything Pop has real coffee creamer or half and half, or will we have to use the powdered stuff ?

Thanks everyone for all the great advice, I'm really enjoying this board and everyone here is really nice and helpful!

I think I'll call this week and see if I can make the request, just in case. I'll probably take an air matress with me just in case. I'll give my ISP a ring this week too to make sure I'll be able to connect from there too.

Howdy everyone,

We will be at POP June 11 - 21 and my wife is already making the final preperations.

She was wanting some conformation the there is actually 'real' bar soap and shampoo in the rooms.

We stayed at the All-Stars a couple of years ago and they did not have actual bars. Why is this important? :
I don't know, but it is so I am asking those with the knoledge.

My question would be if the broadband is up, and if they allow for VPN passthrough. I don't want to while I'm there.

Hey - We'll be at POP for the first time on the 19th also! My DS will be celebrating his 7th birthday!
It's our 2nd trip to Disney World, but the first was almost 3 years ago. Don't know who's more excited, our kiddos or DH & I!

Just trying to figure out the plan for morning coffee and milk for cereal that we're taking. Are there ice machines at all the buildings? And is there a separate hotel shop to buy milk at?
