I am so excited!!! We leave in 9 days for WDW!!! This is our first time staying at POP and I am super excited. I think my boys (5 and 2) will really love it. My 2 year old loves MR. Potato head, so he will be thrilled to see them there! LOL!

Well my next stop is the first page to refresh myself on all the new and old things...but a few questions. For those who faxed in their requests a few days earlier than your arrival, have they been honored? And exactly how do you word it? I made a request with my reservation and I want to fax it again to hopefully get what I want! :thumbsup2
Did you see the thread So, I faxed POP before I left...Looks like your best bet is to make the request on your ressie, but then also send a fax a few days before you go. At least that's my plan this trip.

A few question for those of you who have just returned from POP...are the menus on DIS and All Ears up-to date or fairly accurate? I noticed the all ears menu for the POP food court has not been updated since 4/07 and the DIS is even older at 8/06...We stayed at POR last May and LOVED the new pasta station (create your own pasta)...is there one at the POP or is it just certain pasta dishes? What about a station with Mexican food? What flavors are the frozen drinks (my kids would love this...not available at POR for your refillable mugs)? What are some of the snack options at the food court (I know they have somewhat limited snacks since we were there last year)?

We will be there Sept 4-9th for a short anniversary trip along with our friends who share the same anniversary weekend...our first adult only trip! :woohoo:

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

I can not help you with your earlier questions because we have never stayed there yet. We will also be arriving on Sept 4 and staying until the 11th.
I see your going for your anniversary.
My DH and I spent our 25th at CSR. It was wonderful. It was our first trip with out our children. (5 in all) We slept late. Went and seen what we wanted when we wanted too. We fell in love all over again. :cloud9: Our last night he took me to
Victoria & Alberts. It was so romantic.
We are planning on returning for our 30th in a few years. I cant wait.
Have a great time;)

and I decided this year NOT to pack as much. M yDH would be happy wearing the same clothes the whole 5 days. LOL! So anyways I am going to buy some powder detergent and just wash if needed and only pack about half of what I brought last year. When is the best time to do the laudry? I would liek to stay away from more crowded times if possible. And I'm sure it's on the first page, but if not, where are the yall located at again?

We have faxed our request about 3 days prior to our arrival and they have always been honoured, both at Pop and ASMo. We also make the request with our reservations. This past August, our request even included a room number and that was honoured as well.

That is so wonderful!! We just decided to go last week...I told my husband I wanted to take an Adult only trip for our 20th...he told me his plans already involve taking me to Belize for our 20th but we could take a short trip to WDW for our 18th!!! I was so excited!!!!! :cloud9: We discussed it further and decided to call our best friends that were married the same weekend 2 years later...we are all having "guilt trip" through the nose (for leaving our kids at home) so we have decided never to let the cat out of the bag...what they do not know will not hurt them, I guess!

Maybe we will run into each other...our flight is on Airtran arriving at MCO at 8:53am...we will be able to enjoy POP and the parks all day....can't wait!:dance3:

Here's what I know about requesting a room. It is a good idea to request you location with your reservation. I hear that they assign the rooms 5 days before your trip, so it might be a good idea to call that day to confirm that you have your requested section. That being said, we did not have luck after following those suggestions during our stay last year at Sports. I called the morning of our arrival to find that we were in basketball, not baseball as requested several times. The CM told me that there was nothing that could be done so I asked to speak to the manager. An extremely helpful CM went out of her way to get us our building. She wasn't able to make the change on the spot, but she took my number and personally called me back to confirm our location. The problem could have been that we asked to be opposite the pool and there were not any more available. We ended up with a pool view, which was fine b/c we were on the 3rd floor and the noise was not a problem for us.

As for something off topic Pop friends...there are still dates for a fridge swap for Pop...but dates are going fast! Check out the budget board under fridge swaps...ours is "anyone want to start another fridge swap at pop (or something close to that) Much of July and August had room for swappers:)

Hello All

We stayed at ASMo last May just prior to our 1st Disney Cruise. We loved it!

We originally had booked a Mod but backed off to a value to have more days instead. That was a great choice.

I noticed another thread where someone was really bashing Pop. My take on values is yes I do get what I pay for. I get a really cool pool, a nice clean place to sleep and eat, and the best part is I don't have to drive.

Last trip, my dh pulled his back out just hours before we left. We live in KY and we were driving down. He just got a new truck that is like huge, 2500 HD duramax diesel blah blah blah and a full size bed that you don't usually see on them. Anywho...he took a muscle relaxer and was out by the end of the driveway :cloud9: leaving me to drive this thing:scared1: Thank goodness the kids went to sleep.

Sorry to hopelessly ramble. Long story short, Hi my name is Karen and I need therapy for my Disney obsession. :grouphug: Coming here is kinda like group therapy right? LOL
:rotfl2:

We will be at Pop from Oct. 19th or 20th through the 24th.

I look forward to learning from all u other Pop'ers. :teacher:

No i didn't. Can you give me the link?

I did put my request on the reservations, but I just wanted to reinforce it.

How do you word it? I have only done about two faxes in my life, so I am hoping I can remember how to do it off my printer. Do you do a cover sheet too? Thanks!:flower3:

Just returned from Pop Menus seem pretty accurate! No more Twinkie Tiramusu. Snax single serve like a pastry , a bowl of cerael, piece of fruitetc. No more boxes of donuts. Frozen slushies I think were coke or blue raspberry! Hope this helps!!

I don't remember exactly. I think we just sent a 1 page fax that confirmed our arrival date and approximate time, reservation name and number, plus:

room requested: 50s Building C, 4 th floor, Illuminations view.

It has been honoured both times at Pop, same room in fact. Our stays at Pop were in early July and mid August.

Thank you for this info...I am a planner...I have to get my tastebuds in the mood for the type of food that will be available for late night (after park) snacks! :lmao:

This is from the Pop picture thread. Maybe they will get more thoughts here:

For all you POP experts....I have a ressie June 29 for 14 nights, which I'm soooo excited about my DH thinks I've totally lost it:rotfl: anyway I have a question.....

We are a family of 4, me, dh, dd17, and dd9, will we want to hurt each other after being shoehorned into that room for 2 weeks? I've been to ASMo with 1 kid but every time we all go we have stayed at a mod. This time in order to stay for 2 weeks it has to be POP. I'm really concerned about the size of the room and yes we will be spending some time there. This trip has several days planned for just relaxing at the pool and even on our park days we go back to the room in the afternoon for a break.

My other concern is the amount of people that could potentially be at the resort........2800 rooms = thousands and thousands of people :scared1: Has anyone been there during the first 2 weeks of July? This is freaking me out even more than the size of the room.

The rooms at the mods are not that much bigger than the values. The mods also have lots of guests and I believe the values handle the crowds better. The value resorts have queues for both the food court and the bus stops. I found the moderates a bit of a free for all without the queues.

I honestly have never been to WDW in July and I have only stayed 4 to a room in the value resorts one time (3 adults 1 child) for 5 nights. We didn't have any problems.

I'm sure you can have a great time at Pop!

hmmm when my family goes we have a connected room, one room for my parents and another for me and my lil sis so i dont know wat exactly to tell you but i would look into that next time you go for a wdw adventure

Ok, I just booked the Princess/Pirate Party :cool1: Doing the happy dance   :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:
they said it is nonrefundable, but no worries here, I thought it was a great deal:thumbsup2

Refillable mug questions.....
I am considering gettting one this trip, but will it be worth it? How much does a soft drink normally cost? I would fill my mug once or twice a day for 5 days, would that cover the cost? And once you got the mug, do you need to go through the line again or jsut fill as you please and go. And can you go anytime day or night to fill it, or just when the food court is oppen?
