Thank you! I am calling AAA now. I am heading down 8/31 - 9/4. Just a quick weekend trip.

Good luck with AAA!! Only movies came up on last minute travel....who knows, maybe you are meant to try someplace new...but I know how hard it would be for me to stay at Movies rather than POP. Fingers crossed for you!! Keep us posted!

This will be my first time staying onsite. I thought I'd check out the boards to see how big the safes in the rooms were and saw a bunch of nice people chating!

My little ones are DS 3 and DS 2 and they have been to DL twice. We haven't been to WDW with them so we are wondering how they'll do with that much stimulation.

We were booked at the ASSports but we changed after some friends had some issues there. Our friends said the POP was the best place to stay with little ones. I hear good things about this resort from so many people I hope it holds up to the praise.

I've been to WDW many times with one stand out trip my wife calls the death march through disney were I made my relatives hit all the major rides in the 4 parks in 2 days.

How much do those caricatures cost at POP (approx)? I didn't know they did that!!

We paid $34. It was $30 for a caricature with full body (my daughter's was a volleyball theme) and in color. We also paid $4 for a cardboard "protector" so it was safe in our luggage. You could also get just the face and/or black & white for a bit cheaper. We were very happy with it!

We picked up our "Mickey Mail" from the TA today!!!! :yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

I can't wait to be there for our first trip.

Welcome to the Dis !!! I stayed at Pop for the first time in 2007 , that was our first family trip !! We are leaving for our third family trip next week and all 3 have been at Pop .We love it there !!The foodcourt is awesome , the buses are great, and the pools are amazing !!The staff are always friendly !! While this is the 3rd family trip I have been both solo 3 times since and once with a group of diabled and evry time at Pop !!!

Stayed at Pop in May of this year, first time and loved it. We were there for 12 nights. We were facing the lake. The only thing i did not like was the weather. It was 95 to 97 almost everyday. I knew it would be hot but not that hot. I have been to disney different times in March and April and it was not to bad then. I am now planning a special trip with my best friend. We have known each other for more than 40 years. We are thinking of going the first or second week in Dec. Want to see the decorations. She has been to disney once, about 15 years ago. I am wondering how the weather will be around this time and if all the decorations will be up. if someone can give me a heads up on this, it would be appreciated.

First couple of weeks in December are pretty pleasant from what I've read and so you should pack for warm / cool weather where sometimes you might need a sweater, but the way the weather has been lately it's unpredictable.

You got that right!! It has been very unpredictable the past few winters down here. In the same day, it can be 40 in the morning and late evening and 80-85 in the middle of the day. I must agree with packing both
warm and cool clothes.

Woo hoo! This makes me feel even better about where we booked!

Hicat, :welcome: to the DISboards  I hope you have a magical trip :tinker:

Thank you! This is going to be a good one. We always have to leave last minute. My company quite often will only give me 2-3 days notice for vacation time, so almost every vacation is last minute. I'm so happy they gave me 3 weeks notice this year so I could book a resort!

I always go to disney the first or 2 week in december. Very low crowds, weather is super, but pack both summer and winter, the nights get chilly. All the christmas stuff is up and running. I would do for sure is the Mickey Very Merry christmas party at MK. And for sure see the Osborn lights at HS. All the stuff is up in all hotels so make sure you plan a day to just tour the hotels. I can't remeber the hotel but they have a carrsol ride (Misspelled) that is made of nothing but Choc. and the ginger bread house at the Grand Floridian. it to is had made.
Have a wonderful time, you and your friend will love it.

Just over a week to go! I was wondering if anyone that has returned recently could tell me if the Goofy jets are working? Thanks!:goodvibes
