Can some one please tell me where the King size bed are at? I am hoping there is one in the 50's building #1 or #3
thanks

The first post of this Groovier thread always has a link to a very handy room layout map showing the king bed room locations, along with a lot of other really useful information about room numbering and the accessible rooms.

This is the perfect place to ask that. :)

No. The rooms do not have coffee makers.

Really? I guess I'd been in too many hotel rooms this summer because I thought they did. I guess it was just in the DVC villas. However, you're not missing anything because the in-room coffee is nasty. I bring my Tassimo to our DVC villa, but Pop has great coffee choices in the Everything Pop. I even made my own mocha by adding chocolate from the hot chocolate dispenser. If you need non-dairy creamer, either bring your own, nor you'll have to ask the manager for some. They keep it, with the Lactaid milk, in the back.

Pop definitely does not have coffee makers in the rooms. Yacht Club does :goodvibes

I was thinking about bringing my small coffee pot. But I think I've decided to just bring my creamer, buy a refillable mug and have at it every morning! We all want the day to start off right, don't we?!? :thumbsup2

Excellent plan. I love my refillable mugs. I have quite a few. I have the ones from 2005 from All Star Music, before they went with all resort mugs being the same. I have the Year of a Million Dreams and I have the set from this past trip in August. I also have ones from Colonial Willaimsburg and Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. I'm running out of cabinet space for them all. Its worth it though. Did you know that Pop has the largest selection of beverages to put in the refillable mugs?! It does! :yay:

I'm going to be at POP for one day, arrival. Place looked really cool and my DH wants to experience it. So, we are staying for one day before moving on to AKL. (Disneymoon so we are going to live it up deluxe! lol)

The arrival day is just a resort day and maybe visiting DTD. That all being said, what are must sees and dos? Traveling party is me, DH, DD/17 and DS/2.

Thanks!

Not sure if you meant what to do at Pop and DTD or for the whole vacation !! But at Pop there are 3 pools plus a baby pool and Goofy jets!! In DTD there are lots of stores and entertainment !! Goofy's Candy store is GREAT!! You can also design your own T Shirt in another store !!
Hope this is a little helpful!!

Just back from Pop last night !! Had a refurb room in Bldg 1 !! The new dressers are bigger than I expected, I loved the new decor and the privacy curtain is GREAT!! The only bus we waited for was one to DTD !! We were surprised that the foodcourt wasn't a mad house at 7:30 a.m !! So we ate breakfast there most mornings !!

I tried to read through all this but couldn't find the info-

we are staying at Pop and flying home on Airtran- how can I print a boarding pass for Airtran for the trip home?

There's a Resort Airline Check-in (RAC) thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=944813) on the Transportation board that may answer your questions. If not, the Transportation board is a good place for more questions about boarding passes.

Nice! I'll be there very soon. By building "1" which one do you mean? 50's?

On what floor was your room in building 1?

Do y'all think the preferred rooms at Pop are worth the extra money? I'm learning towards spnding the extra, since we're traveling with my mom who is 60-something and has some minor knee/back issues that sometimes act up when she's doing a lot of walking.

We didn't get preferred rooms at CBR because we wanted a pirate room, and we absolutely ended up regretting that! So right now, I'm thinking that it is only $85 difference on a $2000 vacation so why not err on the side of knowing we'll be close to the food court and bus stop. Or is the resort really so compact that it doesn't matter?

Hi Colleen...I am sure you will get varying replies...(opinions)
My 2 cents:)

I was fortunate on our first trip to POP (mom turned 70/DD turned 10) and we were placed in the 60's. building 4..lakeside...NOT preferred, but felt it!!! However...we were fortunate!

For peace of mind....you may want to pay the extra and KNOW you will be guaranteed a closer room...especially if your mom has health issues and any extra walking could affect her quality of the trip:)
I still think Pop is situated nicely for its size.....so it will come down to is the $85 worth it for peace of mind to know where your room will be...
There are more Popper's here who have more stays under their belt than I:) I am returning for a Christmas trip with my DD's though and cant wait to see the new rooms:)

 I am in my 60's, have MS and have no problems walking around POP - that said, I might book a pref room, but some of those are not that close, so be sure to request bldg 4 or 5 (others may have a different opinion on bldgs). If you stay with std, I'd request bldg 5. Many of these rooms used to be preferred before Disney changed the rooms around....so even these would be a very short walk to Classic hall and the buses.

Check out the first page of this thread for maps of the preferred areas of the resort and even individual bldgs. Remember to put your most important request first....perhaps with your mom this would be good:
1. bldg 5 or 4
2. lake side

These are nice room locations and quieter than being right at a pool, but the pool is still very near. Do you have 2 rooms? Does your mom need a walk in shower or shower seat?

Hope this helps! Have a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

I am a HUGE fan of preferred, which is why we stay POP and not CBR (did it last trip, were WAY too far from everything). We usually have tired kids we're carrying by the end of the night! We've done POP standard (pool side by Computer pool), and preferred (pool side Hippy Dippy) and will absolutely pay preferred. I know people say it's not too far to walk to the 80's/90's-well, if you're carrying trays of food to the room, or have a sleeping 4 yr old, it IS too far-for us anyway.

do they really have peanut butter and jelly condiments at Pop food court? can you get anything like toast for breakfast?

At Pop, Jelly is a free condiment near the drink stations. Peanut Butter (like cream cheese) is available for purchase.

If you really like PB, you may want to bring a squeezable tube from your local grocery store to save some $.

We just left Pop this past Saturday. We flew Airtran and Pop automatically printed out our boarding passes for us and left them hanging on our door knob the night before checkout. I guess they had all the information they needed from our Magical Express reservations. We just brought our luggage down in the morning and checked it. It all couldn't have been easier!

I'm not sure if I'm posting this is the right place, but I maybe you disney dudes can help guide me.

My girlfriend and I are headed to POP in November 2010. We requested a King Bed and we'll be there for five days. I was wondering where I should request/shoot for/hope to stay within the hotel under these goals: I'd like to be close to the buses, hopefully have a quiet(ish) room, parking doesnt matter as we are using the express service and not renting a car, and lastly we are hoping for the room to be refurbished.

Is this even possible? I also realize this is a laundry list of demands, what would you compromise on? We are two able bodied twenty somethings who can totally handle stairs and walking in favor of views and quiet. My hunch is a lake view room on the 3rd or 4th floor of the 50's or the 70's? I say that with an unsure tone.

Thanks guys!
