There are free jelly packets but no free peanut butter packets. We bring a jar of peanut butter with us and grab the free packets of jelly. I was corrected this evening by my better half. I must have lost my mind...the new jar of PB is sitting here looking at me, ready to be packed.

We just got back yesterday from 2 weeks at POP. I know in the mornings in the fridges where they keep the desserts and such there is a tray w/ cream cheese and peanut butter on it.

Welcome back - sorry it's over. But 2 weeks, wow That's a nice long vacation :thumbsup2 (wish I could stay for 2 weeks!) How was the weather?

I have a refillable mug question about POP!

In the morning we like to take our coffee on the bus with us to the parks, but don't want to lug the mugs around the parks all day. Is there a way to bring the mug to the foodcourt to show that we have it, but then pour our coffee in a disposable cup?

At boardwalk, you show your mug but they hand you the coffee in a disposable cup anyway, which is how I got this idea!

Perhaps I'm just overthinking this! LOL!!

Just wondering how to get around lugging the mugs to the park in the morning! Thanks!!!!

Not sure if this will help but I think Pop is the only resort that having a mug is convenient. The food court is right on the way to the bus. I fill up with my diet coke in the am and head to the bus. I may sip it on the bus but of course I'm extremely careful with it. I usually finish it as soon as I get int the park. I quickly rinse it out, snap the lid back on, and clip it to my purse or belt loop with a gigantic carabiner clip. It's wonderful when I get back to the resort. I can refil on the way to my room. If the cups were in my room, they'd stay there after a long day on my feet. I also admit that when I visit other resorts for lunch or just to relax and shop, I'll use my mug. It's not that big a deal to carry even if you go bagless and it's more feasible to refill as often as possible.

I kind-of cheated a little bit (sorry if it offends anyone). I filled up my mug and my husband's mug with coffee in the morning and took it back to my room and poured both in an x-large disposable coffee cup (I brought a dozen or so from home). Then we would head out to the parks and I would stop one more time and fill up our mugs with soda for the parks - coffee in hand.
I know it's kind of cheating, but in actuality, I just filled my mug with coffee then soda. :confused3

Since you would bring it with you to show that you had it anyway, if you can get your hands on disposable mugs, you could fill it, go back to your room and leave the mug.

Well, we check in to Pop for our first stay there--or any other value for that matter--on Saturday the 4th.

We are driving down, and are planning to leave tomorrow afternoon and get a few hours down, and then have a big day of driving on Friday. We'll prob stay somewhere around Jacksonville Friday night, so we should get to Pop pretty early Sat. am.

Did the online check in, so hope our room might be ready when we get there. My wife is bringing her laptop, so if we have time, I'll post some updates/ pics of what is going on around the resort.

Thanks to all the Pop vets who have given me info over the last couple of months.

Talk to you guys soon!!:thumbsup2

When I was staying at Pop in 2005 after my first CP, on our check-out day, my dad went back and forth between the car and the food court with the mug so that he and my mom could have coffee for the drive back to Chicago. He was trying to fill up two 64oz thermoses :lmao: So no, you're not the only one who "cheated".

ETA: And no, at the time, I wasn't aware that you couldn't do that. I didn't even know what he was doing until about the fifth trip he made back to the food court. He still has the mug, even though the design is almost completely faded off and there's a big hole in the lid. He calls it his 'Disney mug'.

Does anyone know if they sell single serving cream cheese at pop? And if so how much are they? DS has autism and is a very restrictive eater, so bagels are a way of life. I didn't want to rent a fridge to keep it in, so I was hoping that I could buy it each morning. Thanks!

I stayed in POP from June 13-19th and LOVED every minute of it, I even went back for a night on the 26th to use up my last park hopper.

The food court was great, I loved the grapes and ate them so much. I didnt eat too much other food there only a cheese pizza which was great(loved the whole grain crust) and I had the big breakfast platter, which was great too. I also liked the pudding that had the worms on it. It was nothing like the real dirt my aunt makes, more of a good chocolate pudding. I had the refillable mug too, which was nice, I drank the white tea mostly. Bad part was the drinks come out warm so you have to get plenty of ice.

My 1st stay I was in building 1 and it was prime location pretty much. Very close to the buses and such. My one night return trip I was on the backside of building 7 and it really sucked. It was far to walk to buses/ main building and I always got lost trying to walk back.

Both of the rooms were refurbished and very clean. You can hear a some of the louder noises from the room next door but only loud bangs and such, nothing to worry about.

So IMO the hotel is great and I wont be spending my extra money on deluxes and mods anymore, unless I get richer some how. Just my little 'report' on the resort. Feel free to ask questions and I have a few pictures to share too. Thanks for reading.

Assuming prices are the same, cream cheese at the allstars, individual sizes were 25 cents maybe 50 cents. I think I remember 50 cents because I would always get two! One just isn't quite enough.:rotfl:

Thanks so much for the info!!! He would definetly agree that you can never have too much cream cheese. :) Carrie

To all the people that are getting ready to leave for WDW, :cool1: I hope you have a great trip and don't forget to let us know how it went when you get back. I wish our trip was closer! Once the holidays get here, time will go by faster.

tammiDZ have a BLAST!!! Just got back the other day!! Let us know what area your room is in!! :goodvibes

I'm thinking of staying at Pop Century for my upcoming trip with DD (13). I figured we would not be in room very often so value resort would be fine. However, we are staying for 11 nights/12 days and I wanted to have a couple of days at the pool. Not sure that I'm that impressed with Pop's pool. Any opinions out there?

Thanks,

we love the hippy dippy pool...I gave DD option to stay at a mod this time, she choose Pop due to the pool!

They hand you your coffee at boardwalk? They make it for you? How is this set up? At Pop, its a food court. The beverage stations are on an island on the seating side of the check-out lines. You fill your own mug with whatever you want. My kids like to mix soda flavors. I mixed some hot cocoa (which they don't have at Deluxe resort refills) into my coffee and it was extra yummy. People also refill old and out of date mugs. I'm not passing judgement on those people, I'm just saying they do it. I've NEVER seen anyone get busted. Now, at Saratoga Springs, which is DVC, the refill station is in the cafe, which is not food court like. Its next to the check out. There are far fewer beverages to choose from too. There are also beverage stations at the pools at SSR and GF, but they're next to the bar tender, so he can see what you're doing.. not that he's necessarily watching.. but he could. Pop doesn't have beverage stations at the pools and also doesn't have food at the pools like they do deluxe. Maybe because the pool is so close to the food court. But Petals Pool Bar has the same drink menu as Saratoga and Grand Floridian. That said.. whether or not you bring your mug, if you fill a disposable coffee cup at the station, nobody is likely to even notice. You're entitled to the refill as long as you have/have paid for the mug. If you'd be more comfortable, keep the mug receipt in your pocket or purse!

The refillable mug is yours. You are free to refill it as often as you like. Its your beverage and you can do with it what you want after refilling. I would drink my coffee first, then rinse my mug and fill with soda to take on the way to the parks. I could then attach the cup to the stroller with a caribiner. Sometimes, I would run the cup back to the room. I had to return to the room anyway to put away my Tupperware cereal keeper and bowls. I was in building 6, and I didn't think it was far.

I want to say the cream cheese was 50 cents. We didn't rent a fridge, but we had food in a cooler that we refilled with fresh ice daily. It was a pain, but it worked. Next time I'd use a cooler with wheels.

There is nothing special about the Pop pools. They're just pools. The Hippy Dippy pool has some giant flower petals that spray water into the pool and there is a small water play area with water jets shooting up from the floor. There are no slides, but the life guards do toss noodles and beach balls into the pool for kids to play with. The 50's pool and the 90's pool are highly themed pools in their shape and design, but they are just ordinary pools. The 90's pool in particular is just a big square pool with no shade at all. It was kind of boring and the lifeguard wouldn't let my daughter bring in her inflatable Bruce the shark. The moderate pools, at least the CB main feature pool has 2 slides for added fun. The moderate and deluxe pools have spas. The deluxe feature pools (Saratoga at least) has a DJ who plays and entertains the kids with all sorts of fun during the middle of the day. The Deluxe feature pools (and a few quiet pools) have pool bars featuring both the free drink refills, alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic drinks such as soda and smoothies, and sandwiches and snack food. Saratoga Springs and Old Key West have great pools, Saratoga's larger feature pool has a zero entry side and a rocky outcropping slide. OKW's pool has a giant sand castle and slide. Beach Club has that super duper sand bottomed pool with a lazy river. It also has a ship wreck slide. They control access so only resort guests can use it. I've seen the drawings of the pool at Kidani Village. It has a dump bucket (oh, so does CBR's). It depends what you want in a pool.

Just wanted to share a picture of our room decorations from last week. I miss POP. :sad1:

I took the picture before I flipped the letters around.:)
