Just curious. I remember seeing some for the kids last year but I don't know the official policy.:surfweb:

Prolly the 70's as there is no pool there and it is close to buses and foodcourt !! You could also request lakeside which would be 50's or 60's !!

Thank You! A couple of years ago we were by the lake but it was not preffered. It was behind the big Lady in the Tramp statue. We loved that location. I'm pretty sure it was not preffered. It was a little but away from the main hall.

We are going to MNSSHHP. This is the main reason I would like to be near buses.

Not a problem at all.

From Post #1
  • feel free to bring your own inflatables and noodles for the pools; Everything Pop does have a few pool toys available for purchase such as goggles, noodles, and small blow-ups for toddlers
  • there are typically beach balls floating around in the pools for guests to use

I am curious about what to expect early September (2-12) in terms of crowds at POP. Some people make it sound like POP has lines miles long at the food court. Aslo, if you were to select any building, which would it be?

Thanks!

We did have the ac issue this year at pop. It quickly got cool once we got back to the room or moved around. We also tried the bypass trick to no avail. It wasn't awful just mildly annoying because we sleep with it very cool at home.

:scared1::scared1: Which building were you in? Do you remember your room number? :hippie:

We were in 50's first floor first non-preferred room.

I'm not sure of your dates, but I do know that 50s building 3 main air conditioning unit was struck by lightening on Saturday June 19. At least this was the explaination we were given for the lack of air conditioning that night. I don't know how long it took to repair since our room was being switched anyway for other reasons, but this was what we were told when we told the front desk about the air not working. I believe it based on the really loud cracking sound of the thunder which was happening at the same instant as seeing the flash of lightening (it was definitely close).

I have booked a preferred roomat POP. We don't want a room by the pool because it is to noisy. What is the best buiding to request to be near the buses and the food court?

im staying at pop at the end of january i think i'll request 4th floor and facing the lake- sound good?

Here is the map of the preferred room locations. They're in Yellow. The first page of this thread also has googlemap photos of the buildings with the room numbering scheme superimposed on it. So you can see what buildings rooms are where. The first number is the room number is the building number, the second number is the floor, the third and 4th are the room number. So, I was in 0125 last time. That is building 10 (70's) first floor, room 25, which was a non-preferred location, but we liked it because it was convenient and shady.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I'll be aware. I have requested 70's building, first floor. Its our favorite.

I've stayed at Pop at various times of the year and have not found the food court to have miles long lines. Last time was at Spring break and it was busy, but no long lines. :wizard:

Are the preffered buildings all renovated :confused3

There's a thread about the renovations, here:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2397068

At this time the thread indicates that the 70s buildings 6 and 10, which have preferred rooms, are likely all done with renovations. 60s buildings 4 and 5 may or may not be underway; some posters are saying they saw work going on. 50s buildings (1 and 3 with preferred rooms) do not appear to be started yet.

It will be here before you know it. I look at my ticker and say the same thing. But after next week the begining of Aug I can say we are leaving next month. Sort of makes it seem sooner. I have alot going on in the next couple of months before I go. Lots of summer get togethers ect.

Still need to order my MNSSP tickets and do a buy a few things for the trip so that keeps me busy and this thread. LOL

I am the same way as well. I was telling my kids a few days ago that time seems to fly while paying on the vacation, but waiting on that last 45 days to get here seems to just drag on by. By the way, my 45 days will be next week... so I guess it is time for the slow count down...

Hey Everyone,
So I have a question. This is my first time staying in Pop. My mom and dad will also be staying in Pop in November. When my mom called to add room requests to their room, the lady that answered said that Pop has no elevators. Is that true?:confused3 Sometimes my mom gets information wrong so I am just checking. She has had knee surgery on both knees hence why she was concerned. Thanks!:)

It is absolutely not true, but I wouldn't necessarily blame your mom for the misinformation. CMs are notorious for giving out false information.

Thanks! That will make her feel better I am sure. And honestly, I am not lazy but hauling our suitcases back down 3-4 floors is not my idea of the end to a fun vacay. :lmao:

Even so, did you know that you can get bell services to haul your luggage for you? I am going out on a limb assuming (and we know what happens when we assume) but at the DVC resorts bell services will come and collect your luggage and YOU in one of their golf carts and take you to the main building. Since Pop HAS golf carts and there is one that looks like a 56 Chevy at the front, it looks to me that they offer this service.

I can vouch for elevators I posted before that I had the dubious distinction of being the first stuck in one in at least 4 years !!!:lmao:Don't worry the panic button works great even when you abuse it !!!:lmao:As I did !!!!:lmao:
