We are down there from the 18-28 at Pop. Maybe the Phillies will be on one of the nights at Petals!!!! the Eagles play in the afternoon both Sundays we are there and dont think I will be able to make it to ESPN!!!

Go Phillies! I'm sure DH is thinking the same thing! ;) Luckily for him, we'll be back for the Eagles games...:happytv:

How are the hair dryers @ Pop? I'm debating on bringing my own but would love to not have to pack it if not needed.

I'm bringing mine. They're fine if you're just drying your hair a little, but if you're doing any styling whatsoever, bring your own. :thumbsup2

I thought the hair dryers were exactly like you'd get at nearly any other hotel chain. I usually dried my bangs quickly and sometimes a bit more just to try to keep it from frizzing and had no problem. I guess if you usually have trouble at a hotel or have a more powerful dryer (and longer/thicker hair) then you might want to bring your own. But they seemed like pretty average dryers to me.

I check in on the 18th...Is it too soon to start calling POP for our room request? We already booked preferred, so I know we will be in 60s(right?)...I still wanted to request 1st floor and maybe on the other side, rather than pool side...

Thanks

Does anyone know when Disney will enter the 21st century and upgrade the TVs at POP? I realize it's a value resort, but it's Disney World, not a third-world country. :)

What's wrong with the TVs? Ours worked in May

Just wanted to let you know that a preferred room does not mean you will get the 60's so if you would like to try for the 60's I would add to my ressie by calling disney or travel agent however you booked! There are preferred rooms in the 50's, 60's and 70's ! I just got back on sept 3rd! I had a preferred room in the 60's but was not happy because we are night swimmers and someone kept calling every night and complaining about noise and had the pool closed which was uncalled for but after midnight once they get a complaint of a violation of the quiet rules they close the pool it doesn't matter if they know who it is or not it gets closed! When we were in the 50's last yr we could swim all night and they would tell us that we could goto the 50's or 80's but this one was closing I was really mad because I paid just as much money as those complaining most times for no apparent reason ! Just FYI as it may not even effect you.;)

 Best is to have any requests added to your reservation. Even though there is a number for POP on your confirmation, calls do not go to the resorts -even from the rooms. All calls go to a call center.

As a pp said, preferred rooms can be in the 50's, 60's, or 70's, so if you would like 60's be sure to call CRO (or your TA) and have it added to your reservation. At check-in, ask if they would be able to accommodated your request as they can sometimes find a room in the area you'd like.

Here is a POP map with preferred locations hi-lighted:

Hope this helps! Have a great trip!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I think they are really weak. I didn't bring mine one year and regretted it every day. My DD has fine thin hair and it took forever to dry even her hair.

Don't call, like othrs said. Have it added to your reservation and you can then fax in if you like 4 days ahead of time.

Thanks everyone. Actually 50s or 70s look better, as they are not poolside, but close to bus stop and Classic Hall.

I have another question...Should I do online checkin?

Many of the 50's are poolside - some are on the back of bldg 2, 50's, but 70's would be a better location...so if you'd like it handy, but not poolside, 70's would be the best request. :thumbsup2 Most everyone I've read who has done on line check-in was very happy - almost always their room was ready. And if the room is not in a location you'd hoped for, it can still be changed - just ask at check-in. POP CM's are among the best! :goodvibes

We booked preferred but have decided to not make a request....am I going to regret that decision?;) Ps. We will not be arriving at Pop until approx 7pm that day.

I am leaving for POP tomorrow but am waiting for an important message from someone. I need a way to get this message....so I was thinking, I could have a friend call to let me know the message. If I were to have a friend call me at POP, would she just use the main hotel phone number? I have no idea what my room number is so I assume that if she just asked for my room number by my name, that would not be a problem for them to connect her? And last, assuming we are out at the time, does POP have an automatic answering machine hooked to their room lines so that she could leave a message for me?

They can connect the caller to your room through the name the reservation is under and yes you do have voice mail available in your rooom. You are fully covered.

Just wanted to add that calls do not go to the resort, but to a call center for all resorts and although your friend will be connected to your room (after you have checked in and as long as the friend has your name as registered), Resorts will not give your room number to any caller.

OK, but this is the number I give her, correct?
