We are set to stay at Pop, Jan 15-20. My wife and I are surprising our 15 and 13 year old daughters. I have only reserved a standard room, but asked for upper floor in the 70's building. Any other areas that are relativly close to busses and food court? I'm not planning on swimming in Jan. and I guess walking isn't a huge issue, but why add if you dont have too.

Thanks

We were in Building 1 ('50s) last year (and '70s the year before, preferred) and didn't find it any less convenient than the previous year. I mean, MAYBE 2 minutes longer getting to the busses/food court, but even that is a stretch. It was just fine!!

Nothing is more than a five minute walk. It's a very small resort.

Hi everyone,
know it's Disney but I am a 22 year old femle travelling alone..the thought of walking through a dark parking lot or really quiet buildings near the back of the resort late at night kind of worry me...What would you recommend??

TIA :lovestruc

Wow, kudos to you. Makes me nervous just reading it....gosh, what would I do alone LOL I've had kids around for so long I think I'd feel lost for the first few days, plus I'm a talker....who would listen to me LOL (or in my case, act like they were listening to me LOL).

I applaud your independence though.....I need to master the trip with just my husband and myself and then maybe (huge maybe) I'll take one by myself one day LOL

I know the feeling - my kids are all teens now, and we were planning something and it would have worked out that I spent a night alone at a hotel (I think taking one of the kids to or from camp). I tried to think about the last time I spent a night in a hotel ALONE - without a kid or DH (or mom when I flew out for my brother/wife's shower). Determined that as far as I could tell it was in 1989 back when I was in the Army! Yeah, just been a little while! And it still hasn't happened!

I like the 50 building #3 ground level this past trip I was on the back side looking at the lake, LOVED IT....

Take your swim suites the pool at the Pop are heated and when I went in the end of December at night it was great, it felt like bath water, warm :woohoo:

We've been down there for the last 3 years in Sept but one year I was there in Nov. and the pools were heated! We've also stayed in the 70's twice and the 50's once - and we prefer the 50's because id you have a room facing the pond you can see the fireworks at both MK &Epcot at night!:thumbsup2

Unfortunately we found the same thing when we went in August. The warm, bath water type water didn't feel as good when it was 95 degrees out!

Hey there everybody. We are staying at POP for the first time this November. I was wondering if they have added coffee makers to the room. If not can I bring one from home? I can't stand their coffee at the Disney resorts. Thanks all!! :thumbsup2

You would think that they would turn the heat off or down during the warmer months. Just makes sense to me. Would probably save a little money too.

Still no coffee makers and Yes you can bring one from home.

I'm sure they do but I think it's just too hot to do anything (except maybe dump a truckload of ice cubes in the pool mid afternoon?! ;) ). We stayed at Royal Pacific (Universal) a couple years ago in early August and it was even worse. We'd have to come back to the room after swimming and take a cold shower just to cool off.

We are leaving tommorow for our first stay at POP. Thanks for everyones help. This will probably be my last post as we need to leave the house tommorow at 330 am. I wil post when I get back in 9 days my experience.

We stayed at POP Sept 29-Oct 6th. We were 4th floor Jutebox in the 50s building. We opened out door & watched the fireworks from Epcot & MK when we weren't at a park.

The MK halloween fireworks were great from there too.

Well, we originally booked the Fort for Jan 31-feb 5, then upgraded to POP, then upgraded to POFQ and now we are back at POP. I just did not feel comfortable staying anywhere but POP and I am so excited
