hi guys! ive looked through the first post- and ill never catch up with the rest of the thread. im in a quandry. dd has cp and finds it very hard to go long distances, she also wears an eye patch which gives her vision issues. i have discussed this with my ta and she has suggested that we get a preferred room. since this would be for medical reason, can we not ask for a closer room for ourselves and not be charged? i know you can request it, but that doesnt gaurantee it. we cant use a hnadicapped one, as there will be hubby and i her and ds in a crib. im just opposed to paying for a preferred room when a they aren't nessicarily any closer and b it is for a medical condition. thoughts?

This is the special needs number, You could call and see what they say.

Woo hoo! I just booked our free dining trip for the fall--Sept. 12-17th. It will be dd (3) and her first Disney trip!, me, my mom, and my cousin who is also a Disney fanatic.

Now, I booked a standard room. I haven't read through all 188 pages, and I'm sure this question has been asked a zillion times already.

What building should I request? We want to be close to the food court and buses, as close as we can be without being preferred, and not with a door facing the pool, but close to the pool.

I'm not asking too much am I??? LOL

This will be the first time I am staying at a value.

Hi - Your going to love POP -it's such a fun hotel.

For buildings, the closest to the food court and facing the main pool are the preferred rooms. Our favorite spots are 50's & 70's facing the lake - pretty much as far away as you can get from the main pool and food court. The way the hotel is set up you really are not far away from anywhere no matter where you are. We drive, so being in the 50's & 70's lake view, not only makes it the quieter area facing the lake but also gets us closer to the parking lot.

Does anyone know the current status? I suppose I'll find out firsthand tomorrow, lol, but I'm impatient.

We have a Garmin StreetPilot c580. Anyone know how to go about entering the latitude and longitude in order to get to Pop Century? It's new, and we're not very adept at using it yet. Thanks for any help!

Hello everyone, Last time I posted on the thread it was back in the begining of winter....

So much has been going on...I have booked another solo trip....Tuesday, Sept 29th until Sunday, Oct 4th Free dining :goodvibes
Going back to my 2nd home the Pop but this time I will be staying in a Pref. Room and asked for the 50's building....LOVE IT.

Hope everyone is doing good and happy planning. I will be doing my Pre-trip report soon, most likley in about 2 weeks, still undecided about places to eat.

Nice to see everyone..

OMG!!! Is the kiddie pool closed?! When is it supposed to reopen? My kids are going to freak out if it isn't open in June!

So I started a pre trip report - I'm excited! If anyone wants to pop (haha.....) over and read it, I'd be much appreciative....

:woohoo: I leave for Pop in 9 days! I'm super excited. :cool1: Thanks everyone for all of wonderful info and pics that you provide here on this board. I greatly appreciate it. :thumbsup2

I hope it's open July 31st when I arrive, not because I have kids but because I want less kids in the big pools.

I don;t think it would make that much of a difference. At least when we've gone there is never THAT many kids in the baby ppol.

Hi everyone, we are going to be staying at POP for the first time this Sept and i am getting very excited the more i read this thead. For those of you who are POP experts, we are trying to figure out where we want to be. We have 3 kiddos, 7, 6, 3 and my mom who needs to use a cane with us. we will have two rooms and have requested they be connecting. We dont want to walk too far to get to the car (we are driving and not using the WDW transportation) or the food court area, would love to be on the ground floor, but would be fine with a upper floor as well. We have have heard the 50"s with a lake view is nice. What would you all suggest? what is your favorite area to stay in?

Thanks so much!

Here is a link to a Pop Century property map that I found on the first page of this thread. http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PopCenturyMap.pdf

You can see how each building relates to the parking lots and Classic Hall. My family stayed in the 50s building Jukebox(building #2), lakeview, 4th floor. We were able to see the fireworks at Epcot and Magic Kingdom from there but we did have to walk about 3 or 4 feet around the bend of the "T". We were really close to the parking lot but since we were on the 4th floor we had to walk down the bowling pin stairs to get there.

Also on the first post of this thread are maps of each building.

Here is a link of a map showing room layouts showing connecting rooms and rooms with king size beds. http://disneyworldlinks.com/tools/PopCenturyRoomLayoutLarge.jpg

Hope this helps.

Hello Ifwhipp! My family just had a great stay at POP in room #8168 it was in the 90's on ground level, very close to the computer pool(for the kids) and very close to the parking lot. If you look on a picture it is just to the left of the computer moniter at the pool. The room is connecting to another(I remember the door). Good Luck! We loved the POP Century this trip.

If you go 50's lake veiw, you won't be close to Classic Hall and not very close to th parking lot either. But nothing is super far.

Pikester, I was looking at top floor, lakeview, either Jukebox or Tramp...my primary concern really, is quiet. (I love the energy of the place but notsomuch outside my room!) How did you find it for that? Good to hear the Jukebox building isn't too far from the parking lots. It's likely we'd rent a car and dh would be schlepping stuff... Thanks for any input! :goodvibes
