Hello Everyone! I am checking in from the POP! Let me first say this place is great! For a value the POP is now my 1st choice! Their are lots of people here! My DH and I had our tie dye cheese cake last night and took a nice walk by the lake while the kids spent time in the arcade. The grounds are really beautiful out by the lake. I really hope the rumors turn out to be true and they build family suites across the bridge. We have connecting rooms ( that is another great WDW story:goodvibes ) and it has been great for the kids to have their own space. I have often looked @ the suites @ ASM but don't think the resort is 1/2 as nice as the POP!! The food court was busy by 8 am this morning. The only thing I don't like is that the gift shop is in the food court. I have never seen this at a WDW resorts before and I think it adds to the hysteria of the already busy food court. I know it is POP Warner week and Mouse fest the AK was packed yesterday although it was afternoon before we got into the park. We are of the the bus stop for DS soon. It will be our first time riding the bus; we have used our rental car for everywhere so far.

:) Tami

Thanks for the update Tami! Have a great trip and keep us updated. :thumbsup2
Can you tell me the hours for the arcade? What's the weather like?popcorn::

Thanks for the update Tami! We were just at POP last month and I thought the same thing about the gift shop.

I haven't heard that rumor about the FS, but I hope it is true. We have ASMu booked for October so we can stay in a FS, but after staying at POP, we may just cancel and stay at POP again. We really loved it.

Thanks for the updates! Enjoy your vacation. :)

Just back from a quick "girls only" trip to POP. I must say that this trip was alot more pleasant than the last 2 trips I've had to POP. Maybe it was our location - 50's in the Juke Box section out near the lake.

The resort felt quite full, but still manageable. The food court was an absolute zoo yesterday morning (it was about 9am) and we were checking out. By the time we left people were becoming table vultures - standing right at your table while you collected your things. That always bugs me to the max - almost as bad as when people wait for you to back out of a parking space or follow you in a parking lot to your car............:rolleyes1

CM's were great - we had to keep calling from the park to see when our room was ready - but that wasn't a big deal. We were only going to be there for sleeping anyways!

Bus transportation to the park was fine. We had a very lively group on our return to the MK in the evening. We were having way too much fun according to the bus driver - but we were having a blast with a group of 12 that had just arrived and must have have been NO Saints fans according to their hats. :santa:

Depending on which park the girls want to go to next year, we just might be back at POP.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear good things about the resort. We are staying at POP for the first time in January. We have always stayed at Movies (we thought we would give POP a shot this year). You’re not missing much in New York today (we live just up the road in Norwich), it was 5 degrees out this morning!

I never really thought about the gift shops location adding to confusion but I see what you mean. To me it was a good business tactic in that I seldom walked thru without at least window shopping !!!:rotfl2:

Wow! Thanks for taking the time to check in, Tami! Our trip is still 5 months away, but we are totally getting excited already!

Oh, that is my NUMBER ONE pet peeve of ALL TIME! I swear I drive my DW crazy doing this....but if I get in my car and another car is waiting for my spot, I WILL NOT leave! I will just sit there....and sit....and sit....sometimes, just for fun, I will put the car in reverse so the lights will be on, then put it back in park! Sometimes, I just get back out of the car - stretch - and then get back in the car - if they are STILL there, I do it again!! :rolleyes1 (i know....I am mean!)

Funny, we are just the opposite - we're happy that someone found the space we are leaving and try to leave quickly. We're very lucky and usually have great parking spaces. ::yes::

Now that's one of our pet peeves about POP - wish the shop and food court were not connected! Too loud!! It's true, usually cnanot help but have a peek in the shop as we walk thru.:thumbsup2

You're the same as I am.................I will put my packages in my car & if another car is sitting there like a vulture I will actually walk back into a store whether I plan to go back into that store or not. I will also sit in my car pretending to be on my cell phone. I did that just today........:lmao:

:confused3 And what if it's an elderly person or a woman with a baby waiting? Or a woman with child or someone with a disability you cannot see? I just do not understand this sort of thinking...it truly comes across as terribly mean spirited. :confused3

Hi Tami, thanks for the update, sounds like your haveing a great time. Ya I thought the same thing about the gift shop, kind of strange,I guess its another parent trap when bringing the kids Into the food court:rotfl2: more money, more money:goodvibes. Did the cheese cake off a off taste to you,I thought It did?:confused3. Watch out for the kids with helmets!:rotfl2:

I am definitely not a mean-spirited person. :hippie: I should have clarified, but the caveat about someone waiting on my spot is when there are cars waiting to get around the car that is waiting!! In other words, let's say we are in a parking lot, like at a Walmart of Target, where there is one-way traffic going up one row and down another. My problem is when people are in one of those rows waiting on a space for a long period of time while others are stuck in that same row behind them. In many cases, these same people are going to walk the entire length of a Super Walmart, but refuse to park 12 feet further back. Our local places have sufficient parking spaces for expecting mothers and those with disabilities, and I wouldn't dream of parking in those spaces.

Sorry to sound "mean spirited".....geeshhh...forget I ever posted. :sad2:

My girls say the arcade is open from 7 am till midnight. The weather has been warm for the most part. Yesterday it only got up in the middle 60's but today it was in the low seventies. Tomorrow it will 80! It has been up and down on the thermostat! Wed is supposed to be 83 ; we will be off to the beach that day! I will check back in later we are of to the MK for the Spectro!

Tami:

Glad that you guys are having a whole lotta fun while the rest of us just get to keep countin' down the days!

Take a whole bunch of pictures while there so you can share them!

We were at Pop the week of Thanksgiving, we had a great time, Neonurse-while I was getting ready in the morning DH went to the food court and toasted me a bagle that I brought from home, also I saw microwave popcorn for sale in the food court.

Thanks! That is great to know!:worship:

We will be at the POP in 5 days. We are so excited. It's our first time. We just told the DD7 and 5 that we were going to Disney on Sat. They are soo excited. That's all they are talking about. We want to stay in the 70's section b/c mommy (me) has the Mickey phone just like that. I get laughed at because it's so old!!

Can I ask a question...what difference does it make? Your leaving...just get in your car and go. It seems childish to play games...like going back into the store. No offense but grow-up.

It's my pet peeve to have people get in their car and just sit there. If you want to fool around with your cell phone, radio, or make-up...back out of the space and move to an area where people aren't parked or waiting to park.

Yikes it's getting ugly is here...Maybe we should all act like adults and not get upset over stupid stuff...it's a message board...

But only 3 weeks 2 days for me! :woohoo:

Sorry...I just had to point out that I'm busy and don't have time to wait for others to play games in their cars.

Now I will go back to posting nice Disney things.
