Just curious what you think our chances are of actually getting the connecting rooms we requested at Pop. We will be there 12/16-12/20. How soon can I call to see if they have been assigned? Thanks.
Dawn
We requested connecting or adjoining rooms when we stayed at Pop last Christmas. We had three rooms in a row, two were connecting. Good Luck! :goodvibes

Hello again my favorite people.
I just returned from a lovely stay at Pop. First time there and I was impressed at how fun this resort is. I also had the pleasure of bringing a newbie, making the trip all the more magical for me. And she thinks the fun was all hers!!

Anyway, that's not what i'm writing about. I had an annoying experience and am wondering if I'm the only who has experienced this. It's about the photopass people.

I know that it is part of their business to strategically place themselves at the best places for photo opportunities. And, they do some nice work. However, when I attempted to take my own photos, they were very reluctant to move out of my way and often completely ignored my pleadings. I was not interrupting them while they were taking photos or even talking to prospective customers and I found their attitude to be both annoying and rude. This did not happen to me just once. It happened many times in all of the parks.
Am I alone in this frustrating experience or have others had similar experiences while trying to take photos?
For me it is so contrary to the traditional cast member attitudes and demeanor. And I'm thinking that they must be private contractors. In fact, I think Disney management would be appauled if a cast member treated me the way some of the photopass people did and they would soon be looking for a job elsewhere...perhaps Universal

Nope, never had that problem, but I'll tell you why. I had them take my picture with their camera and then with mine. But you aren't going to get them to move. That is spots Disney has set them up at, you can try to go around them, but basically it's "their" spot to work.

We didn't have that problem either. I even had some offer to take pictures with my camera.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

I thought I read somewhere that there were white noise settings on the alarm clocks at PC. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks. :)

I would ask over at the DISabilities board, BUT, I think they do not count food allergies. But it doesn't hurt to ask, and it is on the honor system. No proof needed.
[Disclaimer - I am NOT saying to defraud Disney. They may not fully understand the necessity of certain items when food allergies are involved.]

This is an interesting question. In September (I think it was Sept.) the American Disabilities Act started including a lot more conditions, including severe food allergies and digestive/food issues (such as Siliac). I wonder if this changes the fridge issue. I would just call and ask the hotel. Dh needs insulin, so we get a fridge for free each trip. Woo! A perk of being pancreatically challenged! :thumbsup2 "Always look on the bright side of life!"

I just booked our trip and staying in POP. We've been a to WDW a few times but this will be our first to stay there. We've stayed in Caribbean Beach, Contemporary and POFQ. We're excited to add another one to the list! Thanks for posting all that info!

You are correct. You can read about it in Post #1. Search (Ctrl + F) for "white noise", and you'll see it under Amenities, I believe.

guys, gals... i opened a pop century group page over at disfriends.
http://www.disfriends.com/group/mousepops
please join up & post these wonderful pics over there also. would love to have a place for us pop fans to hang

I found them annoying though. It would be like an ocean sound then all of the sudden seagulls would start up. Babbling brook with frogs and crickets. They needed to get rid of the annoying animal sounds. LOL!

Dumb meI wondered where the old thread had gone and as I was cleaning out some of my subs I realized what had happened !! So here I am !!

Wow 6-days to go.......

I was just on the 1st page with all of the info regarding the room info, etc. I read that it said there were NO coffee makers in the rooms. Is this true, I could of sworn that when we stayed there in Aug 07 there was one. Please let me know as i must decide on what/how to get my DW...:worship: her morning java w/o walking over to classic hall..:confused3

6 days for me too! I'll be seeing you.

4 more days.....

I guess everyone left or is in disney mode already. The extened forecast looks ok, upper 60's to mid 70's during the day im the mid to hi 50's at nite. My DW will be happy with that, although no coffee maker in the room, so I'll have to go get it before I go off to WWoS for the cheer/football festivities.

See ya real soon!!!!!!!!

Wee bit chilly down here this morning. (I'm a local) TV news showed 39 degrees in Orlando. Keep checking the local TV stations for the latest forecasts. Our weather's been all over the place the last few weeks. Shorts one day & bundled up the next. I'm planning for anything this week-end for our trip....:santa:

About 28 days till our trip. I am trying to finalize everything...well as much as I can from Iraq. I am little concerned about the weather and being there a couple days after New Years and the week before the WDW Marathon. Anyone been there around that time? I mean it says it is a NON peak time but when I worked at Disneyland it seemed like it was busy the week after New Years.

Hey Goofy41 may I suggest investing in a cheap coffee press? Not only will you have coffee BUT I personally think pressed coffee is 500% better than coffee out of a machine but it might just be me.

 In less than three hours we will be leaving for a hotel near the airport in Portland OR. Then, at six am tomorrow (hopefully) we will be on our way to WDW. We are so excited!:yay: :yay: I have been up for hours. I hope I am able to sleep tonight as tomorrow will be a very long day. See you there!!
