Don't know if this helps but last year we paid about $12.00 for a 6 pack of Bud. Not too bad at $2.00 per beer compared to $5 at the bar. (though, we are from Canada and are use to paying at least $27.00 for a 24 case at the beer store) Especially if you have kids in the room and can't go to the bar. We just got a 6 pack and put them in an empty bag in a garbage can filled with ice and they were nice and cold when we returned to the room and the mousekeepers did not touch them. Not to sure if they sell Rum in the gift shop, did see wine though I have no idea how much it costs. You can also buy alcohol in Epcot at the various countries. Actually when we were in Canada we saw some wine from our city, mind you it is good wine and very famous but still, we can buy it for $9.95-$11.95 per bottle here and it was $35.00-$45.00 there. Needless to say we did not buy any but did notice there was wine in Canada, Italy and France so maybe you can buy some rum in Mexico???? Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thats great info. Thanks very much !

For all fellow Canadian and Western New Yorkers....now if only we could convince Epcot to put in a Tim Horton's in the Canadian section of the World Showcase, my trip to Disney would be complete. :thumbsup2

They'd need one of every corner to make it authentic:lmao:

They should definately put a Timmy's at the Canada pavillion! We now have one right around the corner from us which is wonderful! Now, we don't have to drive the 5 minutes to the one in a plaza! :rotfl: A nice Iced Capp would be wonderful on a hot day in Orlando. Yum!

Did you guys read that Southwest is testing RAC at Pop during June? I'm psyched. I can't believe I actually picked the right airline, resort, and month for this little experiment; this stuff never happens to me. Maybe my luck is turning around since this is also the first time I've ever gotten an email pin-code for anything either! I'm checking in in 12 days!!!!

What's RAC?

Can you tell me more?? We are flying in on Southwest and are staying at POP in late June. Did you get something in the mail or email? I would love to be the "tester"!

Copied this from Southwests website, nope it helps, looks like Southwest is doing a pilot test for the Magical Express, let's hope this is still in effect in September...

""""Walt Disney World has finally reached a deal to add Orlando
International Airport's busiest airline to its popular Disney's Magical
Express shuttle-and-luggage service — at least on a trial basis.

Beginning today, Disney and Southwest Airlines will launch a pilot
program in which guests staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort and
flying on Southwest will be able to check in for their flights and drop
off their luggage before departing for OIA.

The goal is to eventually expand the service to Southwest passengers
staying at other Disney resorts, though a Disney spokeswoman said there
is no timetable to do so. "The purpose [of the pilot program] is to see
how our systems will work together from a technology standpoint,"
Disney spokeswoman Kim Prunty said.""""

It has been awhile, but if I remember correctly, Bud was the only kind sold in 6 packs - everything else was in five dollar bottles - anyone else notice anything different?:confused3

When I was there May 9-17 '09 I didn't see beer for sale by the six-pack. Individual bottles or cans were mostly $5.25 each. I think there were one or two brands that cost more.

This would be great as we fly sw all the time and I just switched my free dining trip from AS Sports to Pop. I love SW!!

Ugh! Of course they do this now that SW has discontinued direct flights from Metro Detroit!

We just got back from POP, and was very disappointed to see that the kid's "pool" was closed, was this announced anywhere?

For all you beer lovers out there if you have means of transportation you can go to the Hess gas stations that are around Dinsey (i went to the one outside of POP, Epcot, and Downtown Disney) and you can get a 12 pack of Corona for around $13.00. :drinking1 :drinking1 We ended up buying about 4 cases bacause back home in Ontario they would be roughly $30.00 for a 12 pack.

YAY! Thanks!

What's RAC?

That would be Resort Airline Check in you take your luggage there before you leave on DME for the airport and you dont see it until you arrive at your home airport! :cool1: Basically the same thing as going only when returning only specific airlines participate! Hope this helps ya!

Does anyone have any clue about getting an A pass doing this? I think I would rather lug my luggage around than have a C boarding pass with our family traveling. I wonder if we could get a pass at 24 hours and then still get our luggage tagged and sent on to the airport. Sounds kinda scary doesn't it?? I hope someone who uses it before us will report back!

LOL:lmao: That is exactly what my BF and I were saying on your last trip! But then we would have to get Park Hoppers as we would need to visit the Canadian Pavillion each morning!

For the smokers, cigarettes were real cheap at Hess according to my daughter-in-law who is a smoker.

How far outside of Pop is the gas station, could you walk there? Does anyone know?:confused3

For all those September DISers looks like Disney is in the process of putting up the September calendar. Epcot comes up but only World Showcase hours and Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom have the September link but come up with an error. So I would think sometime today or tomorrow it should be up.

I was beginning to get scared as I am depending on the hours to make my ADR's on the 12th. Also I am really curious about Disney Studios and Fantasmic as I have been reading nothing but nightmare's about it right now, as it is cut back to twice a week making DS unbearable on those days.:scared1:

If it is that way in September then the decision has to be...Do we go to DS on Fantasmic day and fight the crowds or not see Fantasmic at all.........also might change my ADR's as I have read nightmares about the Fantasmic dinner package also...:headache:.....OMG I'm dying right now....I need to know...come on Disney....hurry up!:scared:

Keep your eyes open, just as I posted the last post....ta da....the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom hours are up....still no DS or Epcot Future World hours though...also no fireworks or parade times for MK yet either....I hope Spectro runs on the day I am going as we are at MNSSHP one of the two days we planned for MK and the other I really hope to see Spectro....

I know, I know, I am alittle crazy right now:rotfl::upsidedow:eek:

Take the bus to Downtown Disney and it's just across the street but I'm not sure if it was just across the street from the first bus stop or the second bus stop.
