The Greatest Trip There Ever Was!

My DS14 so shares your sentiment about feeling like a VIP using FP even though they're free & for everyone. We make a game of collecting as many as we can when we rope drop & then when we return to the park after our pool break we like to treat ourselves to our little VIP treatment walking right on all our FP rides :goodvibes

Ahh, I remember the days when DS loves playing in that little laughing place tot play area. Seems so long ago.....:cutie:

Love all of the Splash pics!!!! I need to remember to take some redneck pics next month, even though we never do anything fun in our pictures.

I just love Splash Mtn. It's a nice long ride and so much fun. I love the FP line and I still can't believe people don't know it's free. The info is in the park maps people!!!!

I love riding the train, but we've only ridden it from Frontierland to Toontown. Maybe we'll stay on it next time.

Just found your TR & enjoyed reading it. Your Landon is the cutest thing & I love your princess shirts!
I'm going to the World next month & looking at your pictures has made me even more excited!

Splash Mtn is the best-- I agree with you, just magical! Steph got a great picture of you and Dustin. She timed it really well!
Glad Landon loved the train-- definitely only a "once a trip" thing for us, but I can see how it would be sooo fun for someone his age to ride over and over and point out the different little details!

good update kimmy, we had a very funny group with us on splash as well, they went nuts every time the little water drops would hit them.

i love the music on the trains it is so relaxing when they play it.

choo choo:thumbsup2

haha the 'redneck' picture actually made me laugh out loud, I take those all the time. The picture you took of big thunder mountain while you were on the train is really good...it makes me miss it so much more lol

I loooove Splash! Great pictures. I see you turned around in that one pic. It helped to know you were sitting in the front! :)

Whenever I go on Space Mountain, since the stand-by line and fastpass line are right next to each other, I hear people all the time say 'It must be nice to be able to afford not to wait in line' in these really snotty voices. So therefore, I never pretend I'm entitled to it. I say 'You know it's free with admission right?' and leave them there feeling dumb. Is that mean? :rotfl:

Splash is one of my favorites too! Glad you got to ride it twice :)

I also like walking through the fastpass line. It's fun to feel like a VIP, but my favorite part is getting dirty looks from people who don't realize they can do it too :)

Your Splash pictures turned out great! I love how you throw your hands up in the air. I am always holding on for dear life. I love the ride, don't like the drop so much.

The picture of you and Landon by the train is so cute. He's a cutie pie!

LOVE SPLASH!!! Now I am always going to think "booty juice" when I go to get into one of the already soaked logs :rotfl:

I loved the train pics as well, my nephew is the same way about not smiling in photos even though he is having fun

Hey Kimmy!! :)

Just joining in!! I love all your pictures!!

you are so right about the Poly..it smells so good in there!! I Just love that place, it is my absolute favorite!!:goodvibes

Another great update!

I really wish I could like Splash Mountain...but for me, it's a combo of getting wet and walking around with wet undies all day, AND the drop....I hate drops. :scared1: But I really wish I liked it, cause it always looks like so much fun!!

I am praying for you and your job. BELIEVE ME, I know how you are feeling. I left a job in February and it was the best thing I ever did for my own mental health. I hope it all goes well!!

Thanks!!

That stinks about Splash Mountain. I bet if you don't like drops, you don't like my favorite ride either. :sad2: Oh well...the more people like you, the shorter the line in my favorite rides!! ;)

Thanks!! I will definitely update you all on my interview. I'm so scared about the potential the future holds while being so excited at the same time! It's nice to hear about what a good thing it was for you to leave a job. Sometimes I wonder why its so hard/scary to even think about leaving a job that I'm not crazy about it!

How funny!! Your VIP treatment sounds fun!! That's definitely a good idea!! Eventually we learned to milk the system for all it was worth, using parent swaps and fast passes all together. It was great!

A part of me wants Landon to hurry up and be big enough for all the rides...but a part of me really enjoys him still enjoying little toy play areas. :goodvibes

Thanks!! I hope you remember to take them! I never do anything except scream and put my hands in the air!

I love how long Splash is too!! It's amazing, I love every single part of it! I think its funny when people don't know its free either!! That info is seriously everywhere, its not kept secret at all! I can't imagine going on vacation ANYWHERE and not researching enough to know things like that.

We only went one stop further than you on the train, but it was nice to be off our feet for a little!

Just found your TR & enjoyed reading it. Your Landon is the cutest thing & I love your princess shirts!
I'm going to the World next month & looking at your pictures has made me even more excited!

Thanks!! I'm glad I'm helping get you excited!! Do you have a ptr?

All this Splash talk is making me go through serious withdrawal! Oh well! Steph did get a great shot!! I was impressed! She was so proud!! LOL! We just rode the train once. I think it'll be a "once a trip" thing for us too!

good update kimmy, we had a very funny group with us on splash as well, they went nuts every time the little water drops would hit them.

Thanks!! I love listening to people's reactions on rides!! So funny!

The whole train experience is very relaxing!!

haha the 'redneck' picture actually made me laugh out loud, I take those all the time. The picture you took of big thunder mountain while you were on the train is really good...it makes me miss it so much more lol

Redneck pics are the way to go!! I actually bought a grand total of 3 pics this trip though! I LOVED them!!

I miss Big Thunder Mountain too!! :sad1:

Thanks! Glad you found me, even though it was tiny!

You're hilarious! I could just see you making people feel pretty.

"It must be nice to be able to afford not to wait in line."
"Whats nice is not being too dumb to realize it's included in admission."

HAHA...jk I don't think you'd be THAT mean. ;) You'd have me cracking up though!

Splash is one of my favorites too! Glad you got to ride it twice :)

I also like walking through the fastpass line. It's fun to feel like a VIP, but my favorite part is getting dirty looks from people who don't realize they can do it too :)

Thanks!! I love re-rides of my favorite rides!! So fun!!

People need to research a place before they go!! Its truly shocking how uninformed people are about fast pass.

Your Splash pictures turned out great! I love how you throw your hands up in the air. I am always holding on for dear life. I love the ride, don't like the drop so much.

The picture of you and Landon by the train is so cute. He's a cutie pie!

Thanks. I'm a throw-your-hands-in-the-air kind of girl!! The drop is my favorite part. Okay, well I truly love every second I'm in on Splash, but I'm a drop fiend!

Thanks!

LOVE SPLASH!!! Now I am always going to think "booty juice" when I go to get into one of the already soaked logs :rotfl:

I loved the train pics as well, my nephew is the same way about not smiling in photos even though he is having fun

You and me both will crack up every time we step into those logs as we think of "booty juice"!! :rotfl2: Hilarious!!

I'm pretty sure I got like 3 pics of Landon smiling! Kids!! ;)

Hey Kimmy!! :)

Just joining in!! I love all your pictures!!

you are so right about the Poly..it smells so good in there!! I Just love that place, it is my absolute favorite!!:goodvibes

Hey girl!! Thanks, glad you are here!!

I dream of staying in the Poly one day and getting to smell its aroma every day!

So we made it to all the way to the front of the Magic Kingdom…what on earth could we be doing here?

We were returning to the place where Landon got his first hair cut…Harmony Barbershop!!

I’m pretty sure this was one of Dustin’s most anticipated events! Why, you ask? Well...earlier this year he was a youth group intern. He and the youth pastor told the kids that if they got a certain number of kids signed up for winter camp, they would shave their heads. Well, the kids reached that goal. After that, Dustin pretty much let his hair grow out. Then I informed him that he and Landon were getting their hair cut together in Disney World and he wasn’t allowed to cut it. So, he had refrained from cutting it even though it was way longer than he liked. He was complaining about it ALL the time and really looking forward to this hair cut!!

Just so everyone knows, I researched Harmony Barbershop last year and most places I read said that you have to go first thing in the morning or it gets really busy. Well, this is my second year in a row, I show up randomly in the middle of the day and there is only one other person there each time. There are three chairs (but only 2 hair stylists), so there was no wait! Landon went first!

Here is another blast from the past picture:
P1020996.jpg

She put about a million stickers on him, even though you can’t really see in this picture.

This year, the lady just gave him a bunch of stickers instead of putting them on him.

This lady was nice enough. I asked her if Janet from the Bahamas still worked there—she gave Landon his first hair cut! She said that Janet was still with the company but no longer at the barbershop. Oh well.

I wanted her to give Landon another faux-hawk. Freaking FAIL. Look at how much gel this woman put in my baby’s hair!
DSC00378.jpg

See how it’s sagging in the middle? And she’s still brushing it up? She kept having to do that because there was so much that she was weighing it down! And there was so much that it wouldn’t dry fast enough to stay in a faux-hawk and so when Landon would touch it (rolling around in his stroller or whatever), he would go down all awkwardly. I tried to fix it like 3 times in 20 minutes and the gel still wasn’t dry…and then it finally dried down so in every picture the rest of today, my sweet boy has awkward hair. Oh well. I’m over it, but now you’ll know why when you see those pictures!

Anywho, before she was done with Landon, the other lady started on Dustin. She was funny. The guy before Dustin had asked something about it raining in Florida and she told him that Mickey Mouse and Mother Nature had an agreement so that it never rained in Disney World…all they ever got was some liquid sunshine!! LOL!

Here is Landon and Dustin together in their chairs!

While Dustin was finishing up, Landon was rather upset by having to give the light-up Lightning McQueen back. We left so I could go change him. We went back just as Dustin was finishing. Landon was being kind of grumpy so I didn’t even think to get a picture of both of them with their haircuts together. He even refused to go in his stroller. Fantastic.

We were ready to hit the gift shops next. I really, really, REALLY wanted to go to the Emporium (I think that’s what its called?) where they have all the little cut-outs of classic Disney scenes that you can take your picture in. Well, we went over there and I saw all the signs proving that they used to be there. But a CM said they were closed for now for whatever reason because of the Fantasyland refurb? I think they are eventually moving something from Fantasyland to this place because otherwise closing that for that refurb doesn’t make sense!

So, I was disappointed and Steph was busy looking at pins and Landon was getting mad over EVERYTHING. A very clear indicator that he was tired. So I tell Steph she can finish looking and that I’ll just walk around until Landon is done throwing his fit and falls asleep in his stroller. I seriously walked the stroller out of the stroller parking right in front and he was out. Haha. It was great.

So I just took him back inside. Steph was still looking. She was obsessed with the princess pins. I really had NO IDEA she would be so into pins! I wouldn’t have left mine at home if I would’ve known. She got a princess lanyard and a bunch of cute pins. I even got one cute carriage one!

Dustin was very bored. I don’t even know what was going through his mind when I snapped his picture. Haha. Goofball.

Then we crossed the street and went into the big connecting gift shop. Hmm…now I’m kind of thinking this is the Emporium? I have no idea. If anyone wishes to enlighten me on the different names of the Main Street shops, feel free!

We looked at lots of stuff! It was so fun. Such a nice, cool, break while Landon napped! Sadly, the only picture I got of this ordeal was this one:

I LOVE those hats. They crack me up! Hilarious.

While in the gift shops, I not-so-silently oogled the fabulous Dooney & Bourke Disney bags that tink_gurl has. Sadly, I was not able to purchase one this trip. My dad told me he would not make me give him the money I owed him (for rent) if I didn’t buy that bag. So that was like a TON of extra money. I took it. Do any of you remember any of my other goals for this trip? Hmmm…I wonder if I made those ones!!

I LOVE the Splash pics. Especially the one Steph got of you and Dustin going down the big drop! How'd she know when it was your turn?

Aw..he got his hair cut. So cute. :)

Yes...you saw the purses. I just can't believe how much they are! :scared1:

The Emporium is the shops on the left side of Main Street (when looking at the Castle). One of my fav places to shop besides WOD!!!

I love the Harmony Barber Shop. We got Madison's 1st haircut there (just a trim) and then they added lots of gel and pixie dust. So cute!

Aww sorry the woman put so much gel in Landon's hair! He still looked cute!
That picture of Steph and Dustin in the hats is so funny-- Disney is the best place for ridiculous hat pictures lol. Glad Steph got into pin collecting. They're definitely fun souvenirs.

Harmony Barbershop is really cute. I love how old fashioned it is. I am glad you were able to get Lando to fall asleep quickly.

Great update!

Aww love the picture of the two boys in the barbershop chairs! It really does look like that lady put way too much gel in his hair though :sad2: bummer

Well that is a fail that the cut outs will be gone when I am there next month, I have pictures from last year when I went with family, but this will be DBF's first trip
