The Great VMK Debacle

I can't help but notice the amount of hostile negitive attitudes that this whole prize thing has caused, and you can say it is because I GOT the prizes and that is why I am not upset...but your wrong.
Its not just the prizes, it is the overall GIVE ME MORE attitude people have been showing here lately.
OMG they were only giving away a magic table!
OMG Where is our MAGIC
Why are the host so slow and games so unfair...
The greed has taken over!
You know what...those of us that have been playing VMK long enough to know, KNOW that VMK isn't always what we would like it to be.
You can complain but know those complaints usually fall on deaf ears.
We have a local family resturant that we used to LOVE to go to, then slowly the service got worse and worse and we complained to management and got our free meal coupons to shut us up...but who wants free food at a bad resturant??? so, we DON'T go there anymore.
So the way I see it is you can play the game and DEAL with it's inadequeicies, or..you can quit.
If you Dont like the prizes for a host game save the room in the Q for those that DO.
If you don't like what is on sale for the week...Don't buy it.
Why do we have to sit here and whine and complain when we know VMK is NOT listening and is NOT going to change.
Hey...if they do great! I still love the game and the fact that it even exsists!
If more magic comes out...BONUS!
If not I am ok with what they have already released.
VMK made a mistake, they changed the prizes without so much as an OOPS we are sorry...but in the history of VMK has there ever been a "sorry we screwed up" nope there hasn't so just like any place of buisness you either choose to stay a customer with sub par service, or you don't
It is not the way things SHOULD work but..it is the way of the world today whining is not making it better.

Wednesday(?), I stayed up to be able to do the first quest, I was hoping for a treasure magic bc yes it is magic month, so getting a MAGIC table for staying up that late was a bit deceiving me. Today, I wake up at 3:00 am because I went to sleep early and already got my full sleeping time, and the prize in the quest that I miss by my fault (I know it) bc I went to bed like normal people was treasure magic, it is normal that I had the reaction I had.

First of all, I was not angry .. Secondly, I did not got up early .. Thirdly, it was a not a host room .. Finally, I wont deceive myself for a prize .. it was deceiving and to deceive oneself is not the same thing. so then you must be talking about one of those incredibly easy quests that take all of a minute or so to complete. I for one, was happy about the table, it meant I did not have to spend my credit on it and could save them for another confetti.

You seem rather bitter about this though, but why? It was not deceiving and you were not decieved. This is perfectly normal VMK behavior. Or were you not around for Christmas month when the prizes for quests were 200 credits and a 100 credit gingerbread piece?

I am arguably the most PRO vmk person to ever write on these forums. I would agree with most of the underlying sentiment in the thread, and there is of course a but...

but... I do expect different reactions from adults than from children.

But it is the HUMAN thing to do. If you don't like what people are saying - use the delete key, skip the thread, don't read--- but let people feel and think what they want.

I guess I need some clarification. What do you feel makes me greedy? The fact that I was told I would receive a participation prize one day and told I was not the next? That doesn't make me greedy, that makes me angry. For myself? Not so much. For the kids, to whom this game is supposedly geared? YES! Will I continue to fight for those kids? YES! Is there a reason I shouldn't? NO. If you feel it's okay for vmk to give something and then take it away, then that's all well and good, for you. Please, continue to do nothing to improve the game. I don't think it was right and will continue being the 'greedy' person I am and tell vmk how I feel. That they should at the VERY least, own up to having made an error and apologize to the CHILDREN who are their target audience.
This forum exists because there are so many of us who actually enjoy the game, mostly. We have every right to lodge are concerns and complaints here, as well. If you don't want to read them, ignore the thread. That is your choice, but to label us whiney or greedy is just plain wrong.

Let me get this straight, you are complaining - that we complain too much about vmk in our discusion here on the VMK discusion forum on Dis. Is that about right? Ok, well, thats your right. It is, however why we are here - to discuse our experiences on vmk. Over all I would say it's a lot more exciting then some of the threads I see other places and even here sometimes. The discusions tend to stay constructive most of the time each side gives their input and certainly it build community and help us learn about each other. I am sure avoiding threads that look like they might upset you with complaining would help you, or there are some places that sugar coat things for you if you do not enjoy it here. Either way, it's your call and It's your right I guess to complain that there is too much complaining.
By the way your room was very nice, well deserved of your prizes. I also thought the trailer park was creative.

I agree to much GREED out there, that SOME people have. I think people play the game for many different reasons, can only speak for myself, I play for the social aspect, have met some nice interesting people on vmk and Dis, met others also who are all about them, and others who maybe don't have much of a real life and the game is all they have.The game is just a game, and not EVERYONE will always be happy, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.Though I have to agree there is alot of negativity from some people, but then, I don't have to read the threads either if it bothers me.

I agree with everything stated but I also do agree with aengus's point people will have many reactions and here's the thing why do we bother listening if we don't like what they have to say just ignore it and move along no one forces you to listen I know we all do enjoy vmk to some extent and that's all that matters if you like the game it's you no one else's opinion matters if you don't like them only yours if you choose to go about it that way.
