it has begun, several toys in our store were 30% and a few big items were 50%.

We go the jungle junction roadway playset for 50% off.

Ours started a few weeks ago. We picked up the Jungle Junction set as well, my girls love it!

Technically, that is the toy sale, but most people don't buy until the discount reaches 70%, which should be around the 26th. Of course, you risk not getting the item if you wait, but my baby won't know either way if I do or do not get her the certain toy I'm interested in.

I am buying some things today, and figure if I see it later for 70% I can buy it again and return the higher priced one, yes/no?

Yes, I've played that game, but it's not fun. You have to buy it a second time and return with the first receipt for the higher amount. I just wait now. I would like to buy one specific thing and they had about 10 last time I was there.

It's also my personal belief that Targets consolidate their stuff, at least at holidays. One near me will be wiped out while the other keeps hauling stuff out from the back. Toys vary between stores as well.

My best score was the big Lego Nijago set that sells for $120; got it for $30. :thumbsup2

I am also waiting for slightly bigger markdowns on the sale priced toys at my local Target; then it will really be time to do some Christmas shopping :)

Are any Lego sets marked down this year?

I did not see any legos at the one Target I went to. They had a few hot-wheels items I picked up and some Chuggington trains. I also got a couple wrestler playsets b/c my DS seems to have an interest in wrestling :confused3 but mostly I think he'll like smashing the guys into eachother! ;)

Both the Targets I went to had some Legos marked down, mostly the Star Wars ones, but those cost more to start with-- the Star Wars franchise represents a significant licensing cost. And the markdown wasn't fantastic on those.

At this point, I'm willing to say I'm "sooo done" with both Target and Kmart's "big" toy sales. I picked through what they had and got what I thought would appeal to the kids... the rest I wouldn't take if you paid me...:rotfl:

Actually, that's not true... if the Lite Sprites dolls got stupid-cheap, I might go back for those... but I mean, REALLY cheap, like less than $5 each. Right now Target has them for $10 and Kmart has them for $15. (that's for the add-on dolls, not the starter wand or the Tree of Lite, those are still $20ish and $28ish, respectively)

I paid full price for the Lite Sprite set (the $28 one) last Christmas and my kids never played with it... so it went to Goodwill a few weeks ago. Hoping I have better luck selecting things my kids will enjoy this year... I'm thinking it's going to be a light Christmas just because I refuse to buy filler junk just to take up space because I took about 20 bags to Goodwill of new and like new "stuff." A bad case of me being overindulgent (even if it all was bought on sale, etc).

I do all of my grocery shopping at Target so it feels like I'm there every other day. Who am I kidding?!? I AM there every other day. I scoured the mark downs when they first started happening and didn't really see anything I must have... I did buy an Innotab Spongebob cartridge for $12.48 tonight and once the fisher price "my dough" stamp and store rollers go lower than the 30% off they are currently marked at my store, I'll be all over a couple of those (perfect to take to the World to keep them busy during line waits or at restaurants).

I'm kinda stumped as to what Santa will be bringing this year. :confused3

Traditionally, most toys at Target follow the 30-50-70% off pattern. Legos follow the 15-30-50% off pattern meaning they won't make it to 70% off. Legos will be salvaged before that point. To the PP who got the big set for $30, that is a very rare find indeed. Congrats!

I'm so annoyed at the 70% instead of 75%. I know it's only 5%, but it always bugs me when I see the 70% signs now. Buuuut, I'll still definitely get some things when it hits 70%. We always buy a ton of things for work for the campers' end of summer auction. They help clean up the building (clean, pack, etc.) to earn auction dollars, and they get to buy the goodies.

That was me. I found the dragon fire temple big set last fall. It was the only set on the shelf and marked 50% off, but knowing it might not be right, I scanned it anyway. It's tucked away for my son's birthday, plus I might pick up the Lego Nijago DS game to make a great set. I am waiting until he's a little older because it's a set of over 1100 pieces.

I also have the Lego City advent calendar set aside. Got that after Christmas, and I think it was 30% off.

My DD5 has been playing with her lite wand from the set a lot lately... have no idea where the sprite that goes with it is, somewhere in the toybox, I imagine. She has the one that came with the wand, and Bleak, the "bad" sprite. Whenever we're out and she sees all the other sprites, she gets excited and points them out, so I'm hoping she'll still be that way when Christmas comes. She is very into "sets" and "families."

As for what she'll want at Christmas... she'll want whatever those danged ads on TV tell her to want... it's amazing how effective those commercials are on her impressionable little mind... but as for what she'll actually GET... yeah, that's a different story. :lmao:

Y'all talking about these toy sales and the Christmas thread, you're killing me. I have a big pile of WRAPPED presents in my living room waiting to go back into the closet.

It's 4th of July and I'm wrapping Christmas presents. :sad2:

We were at 2 Targets today and the toys were all 30% with a few not so popular ones at 50%.

Went to Target again today (and probably back tomorrow). I got some Girl Scout lip smackers sets (they had 3 different sets to choose from). One has 3 GS cookie flavored glosses, another has 1 gloss, mini nail polish, and 24 nail stencil stickers, and the other set has a gloss and clear shine gloss. Clearance on end cap for $1.74. Perfect stocking stuffers as my girls are in GS.

Make sure to check out the summer "pool" toy section. I got an automatic bubble gun for $3.78 that is similar to the one I overpaid for at Animal Kingdom. It was on clearance and the last one my store had (the others you had to dip the gun into the solution whereas this one has the bubble solution bottle attached like the clear ones in the park). Also went to WM and this gun is $4.79 reg price there so at least it was a small savings. I will check out another Target as the clearance goes deeper to see if I can get more for our next trip.

I bought school supplies like the teacher nerd that I am... but I also saw the following that went 50%: moshi monsters, creepy crawler bug making refill kits (the bug maker you need was still 30%) some Liv dolls... There is a coupon out there (not sure if it's a target q or man q and even if it is still valid) for $5/2 Polly Pocket that would score you some (essentially) free Polly's. I didn't look into it bc my kids don't play with PP but there were only 2 clearance packs left so obviously someone is popping on that deal.

I'm stalking Minnie Mouse Bowtique items and 1 Lego Duplo set... What about y'all?

My sister's little girl loved the Lite Sprite and watching videos of her going on about it is the reason I rushed out and bought it last year lol. I may have just missed the target age group for it because my 6 year old wanted what her 9 year old sister got... My now 10 year old probably wants what my 16 year old niece wants lol. I don't have this problem with my son though. He's just about to turn 4 and he is so easy to shop for! Lego duplo, mega blocks, floor puzzles and he's happy for hours.

Sorry so long winded!
