The Great Debate : Over or Under?

So yesterday, I was arguing with my DH that more people put the toilet paper on the roll OVER than UNDER. He seems to think more do under than over. So I bring it to the DIS....Over or Under...help me settle this great debate of the times.

If you have a playful cat under is the only way to go. If they rub anything, they will rub down and that will keep the paper rolled. If you use over, and they play with the paper it will be all over the house.

over...always(no cats here!) If someone is over the house and they replace the roll under, I will take it off and put it back on over. Under makes me crazy!

Over always--and we've had cats for 14 years. I guess it depends in the cat. We've had 7. (4 now as 3 have passed on.)

I don't put it on the dispenser any more because one of our cats will unroll the whole roll and rip it apart.

But when I did, it was under, every single time.

We did under and one of our cats still unrolled TP consistently.

I can understand why you would want it a certain way if you have animals that can unroll it but other than that, who really cares what way it goes? It's not like it's any softer coming from the top than from the bottom. I couldn't even tell you what way mine is in the bathroom right now. I never think about it.

So funny! I never thought about it until DH told me I was doing it wrong. Whichever way it happened to face was fine with me. What?? There are toilet paper rules? I actually have to think about it now? Anyway, over must be my vote.

for me, I find it easier to grab on to the paper if it is over because it's right there in the front When it's under, the end of the paper is usually behind the roll, making it hard to find which annoys me

I'm with the majority, over definitely!! Paper towel must be over as well!!

If someone changes them and puts them under, I "fix them" immediately!

Agreed.

It's always over. If someone puts the roll on under, then I always change it (at home anyway).

Another vote for OVER. I think I once read that people tend to use less when it's over than when it's under. Maybe that's another reason hotels always have it OVER?

Over - and we have 3 cats! They have never messed with the TP but my 3 year old has unrolled several lol.
