Have a great weekend, Tanya!
We had a great time Kathy. Left Danny's work at 4:30 Friday, pulled in the drive today at 4:28 - gone 48 hours.
Spent the night in Indianapolis, supper at Cracker Barrel (always yum!)
Drove on to Columbus the next day and got there around 1-ish. Checked in, room was ready, changed shoes and went to the fair. I didn't realize we were going over there that early, I thought we would go eat lunch somewhere and go to the fair later. This is where it got a little scarey.

We pulled in to the parking lot and realized how far we had to walk to get in to the fair grounds. Not a huge distance....but back 6 months ago I hated having to walk from the front of
WalMart to the cart corral, let alone all the way from the parking lot....so walking all the way across the lot into and through the fairgrounds was daunting. But victory was mine!

We walked in and halfway up the midway until we found an indoor (read "air conditioned") building that had various booths of displays. In the middle of it it had a little food court area. As much as I was really wanting some Deep Fried Kool Aid

or Chocolate Covered Bacon

an air conditioned table beat walking the midway with a corn dog. So Danny had a cheeseburger, and I had some General Tso chicken and rice from Chinese stand.
We spent the next few hours looking at displays in that building and a few others, we walked the length of the midway. I did take a couple breaks for a few minutes, but overall I probably walked more than I have since my Disney trip in 2007 when I thought I was going to die.
A little after 5 we went over to the Center where Meat Loaf was performing and waited until doors opened at 5:30. The center held just over 10,000 people and while not every single seat was full I didn't see any sections where there were large areas empty. The two seats next to us were empty, but a couple days after we had ordered our tickets we went back to see about getting another one for Ryne and the closest we could get was about 3 rows away.
There was a family in front of us with 2 little girls, the youngest was about 6-ish and the older 10-ish. The little girl sang along with just about every (innappropriate

) lyric he sang, and the older girl was recording with her phone throughout the whole concert. I would say ages 6-60, but heck, Meat is 63, so 6 - 80. Doesn't sound as good, but is much more accurate. And everyone there seemed to love it. He played for a little over 2 hours and, while his voice isn't as strong and clear as it was in 1977 on the original Bat album, well, that he was half his age then

Once he got going on some of the songs though he was just as great as ever!
