They vote in Carly's school, but they use a classroom that is next to a side door and block the area off with a gate.

I'm so glad that the election is over. I got to see a side of a few relatives that I wish I hadn't seen. I simply cannot believe some of the emails I have gotten in the last couple of months. I totally understand that there are always attacks on the opposing candidate, and that never really bothers me, but the blatant racism and xenophobia that people were passing around was ridiculous.

Okay, rant over. At least for now. :rolleyes:

There is voting in my children's school and usually they just put them on "lockdown" for the day. This means that NO student is allowed in the hallways alone, you always have to be with at least one other person. This year(I'm assuming because they expected such a large turnout) they had parent teacher conferences for the end of the quarter Monday night and closed the school tuesday for teacher's workday. I liked this much better. That way I dont have to worry about my children all day.

I am glad when my DD went to school they would be closed. They never used her school for a voting place. But if they had and do not close school I think I would have kept her home, To many wackos in the world

Oh your town does not tell the kids the reason they have a Cafetorium in all the schools is because the adults in town do not care about the schools.

Okay so I was watching Judge Judy today. As I am watching I said hey that girl looks like someone I know. I then go about doing what I am doing. Then it shows a name and home town under one of the other girls. Then next thing I know I see a women that used to work with me. Her daughter is a very bad bad girl. :rotfl2:

Once, I was flipping through the chanels and I saw my best friend. I flipped back and it was a commercial for the next day's Ricki Lake show. :lmao:

Needless to say, I set the VCR right then and there! :rotfl2:

Our P-T Conferences are mid-quarter, but I think a teacher work-day is in order for the future. I should bring it up but it's my sons last year in elementary school and I don't want the fight. I will suggest it to my neighbors who still have littler ones.

Really? I never thought of it as a bad thing. Now they call it a multi-purpose room. And they ended up having to build-on another one because they didn't have enough gym space for all the kids. They only have PE every other day now, if they hadn't added the gym it would be every 3rd or more.

I do not think of them as a bad thing.But my town loves to use the kids to try and bully the adults to get what they want.

I don't remember the details. It had something to do with a love triangle. They got a free trip to New York out of it, though.

Good morning Freaps! Sorry I've been AWOL the past couple of days. We have been busy working, voting, avoiding the tv, yada, yada. :laughing:

The good news is DH FINALLY got my photos downloaded so we'll go with Halloween first and then backtrack to vacation later.

Here is the whole bunch that we trick-or-treat with every year in my inlaws neighborhood. My kids and all my nephews on DH's side.

And here is DD as Jessie.

And DS as a dragon.

We had a really good time walking around with the kids. I love seeing the excitement on their faces when someone hands them a wad of candy.

I'll probably skip the full report since it's been so long but here are some photos from our Charleston/Edisto Island trip. I noticed one thing, there are never any pictures of me because I'm always the one with the camera. :sad2:

Also, we sure don't take many pictures. Anyway, here is one of the few photos from Charleston in one of the cemeteries(we were never there at night so no ghosts :sad1:

Hi all. I've been obsessively lurking on the Codes board watching the rumors fly about the new discount to be issued tonight for next year. Since we are planning to go then, I am VERY interested. Unfortunately, it is supposed to be released at 5:00 and I have to go to work tonight. :headache:

As a typical O/C Disser, I'm sure ALL the rooms will be gone by morning. :laughing:

We are contemplating getting a puppy again. It's from DH's secretary whose Great Pyrennees had pups again. They are still alive this time and are 5 weeks old. She says we can have one next week but I want to give it a few more weeks with it's momma. We also have a little girl stray that showed up around here. I guess someone dumped her. She is very friendly but soooo not the kind of dog for us. She's one of those little dogs that looks like a dust mop. :lmao:

I've been feeding her but we need to find a no kill shelter to take her to. She is full grown and barks all night long and has been defecating(see, I'm not TOTALLY illiterate :laughing:

) on my porch. :scared1:
