The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

Yea Madd we are going to WDW for a week. I am so excited...DD is taking a friend this time.

Oh wow!!!!!! In case I do not get a chance to tell you before you go, Have a great time and enjoy!

I have been listening to Mouseworld Radio all day and my heart is aching for a trip soon!:guilty: I am already mentioning to DH about our MAYBE trip in 2010!!!!:cool1: That is how I ease him into it;) I just keep talking about it and then one day- I just book it:rotfl2:

If I can make one request- plase have a Grey Goose slushie for me! That will be on my agenda for my next trip- but you have to tell me how they are, and of course, reap the rewards! (take one for the team:laughing: ):yay:

Ahh i wish you could take DH & Me along! He's been having a hankerin' for Ohana's..lol. I sent him some food porn emails today just before lunch time!! HAHA!! have a wonderful time!! Know that we are all so jealous!! Take a lot of pictures too!!

I need some Freap support. I am sitting here crying from total exhaustion and my DS is driving me over the edge.:sad2: I put him to bed with the usual warnings about how "he has to take a nap, I have to work tonight", blah, blah. Well, he laid there for five minutes and then starts yelling "I gotta go peepee!" So he went to the bathroom and I put him to bed with the same spiel again. Then he starts yelling again. Meanwhile I'm on the couch with a blankie pulled over my head just quietly begging him to nap. About 20 minutes worth of him down there yelling "Can I get up now?" and then he comes trucking upstairs with one of those stupid Christmas presents that only an aunt with no kids(sorry Madd:hug: ) would buy-one of those books that make a hundred different noises when you push the button.:headache: I threatened to take it away if he didn't stop so he sat there and screamed "Stupid Mommy!" over and over about 15 times. So now "Stupid Mommy" is upset and definitely not getting a nap today and even more worried about driving home tonight. And then I have the usual worries that I'm raising a serial killer instead of a nice normal little boy. So, any advice on how I can stay alert for another 12 hours or so?:confused3

Oh I wish I could give you a great big hug. Take a couple deep breaths and remember not everyday is like today and I do not believe for one minute that you are raising a child that would be a serial killer just a normal pain in the butt 3 year old boy.

  I cannot give you any advice, but I will send you ALOT of big hugs

When will DH be home???

BTW :snooty: - I am not one of those aunts who gives those kinds of presents:rotfl2: I like to give moolah and savings bonds- the kids will eventually, and the parents do, appreciate that much more than a noisy gift that will be sold at next year's yard sale. ;) Or, in your case today, stomped upon and thrown out the back door:eek:

Maybe you can look at working tonight as a little escape?:confused3 :flower3: What time do you leave work tonight?

I am so sorry, but I forget what it is you do again, I am certain I know what you do, however, as they say, I would forget my head if it were not screwed on tight!:headache:

I just wanted to share this will you all-

I am sitting here posting payments for work and I got a check from one patient. He put a note w/ his payment that read:

"To Whom it May concern: (that would be me b/c I sent him the statement)

At least you could have included a SASE (self addresed stamped envelope) along with a bill that is due.
Open MRI- Great Invention!
Phone and Front desk help- Great!
Technician- Great!
SASE- PRICELESS!!!"

I was peeing!:lmao:

There is no way our bookkeeper would allow us to send a SASE with every statement- but I am going to send him one with his next statement though and put a happy face on the envelope:laughing:

I work for the Lexington Herald-Leader, the biggest paper around. I understand that it is like the mail and has to be done but it still stinks that I'm having to work tonight.:headache: I'm going to talk to my main supervisor tonight and tell him that if he wants to keep me(which I know they do because I AM AWESOME except when I'm Stupid Mommy) then I have to either go down to just one night a week and Saturday during the day or I will have to quit. I just feel like I'm doing harm to myself working these two nights in a row each week and then having to drive home 50 minutes exhausted.:headache: We really need the money right now, but I have this horrible fear of dying on the interstate one night.:scared1:

BTW-Madd I think you are an awesome aunt! I really wish people would just give the kids money or savings bonds instead of junk. My Dad drives me nuts. Every year for Christmas he gets all the kids coins-usually gold.$$$$$ I think he thinks he's doing them a favor for the future, but I think that those are things you wouldn't want to sale to buy a new car, pay rent, etc. with.:confused3 I wish he'd just put the money in a savings account for them.

Yes- I DO remember where you work!:headache:

I would talk to your supervisor, even though you need the $$ it is not worth it to feel like you do, and worry like you do about driving!

You have GOT to get those negative thoughts right out of your head miss! Right now! This is what you need to do, when you drive home late at night- picture your car surrounded by white light- that will give you some possitive energy to keep you safe:hug:  :wizard:

Things will get better when you tell them enough is enough.

Just wanted to stop and Wish every one

Aww, Marna, how frustrating for you! I am soooo sorry but I just had to laugh at your posting about the serial killer that won't take a nap! :rotfl2: I am wondering, if your work situation can't change right away, if you can send little sleepless out to play on the morning of the second late day you work. Maybe playing outside, in the cold, for 15 or 20 minutes, then a warm bath or shower, might make him sleepy after lunch???? Just a thought....

We are in the midst of another snow storm. I don't even know what is happening in Spokane and Seattle at this point...that is the direction our storm is coming from. Between the wind and the snow, our driveway is blown shut and the storm won't be over for hours yet. Not much point to trying to clear the driveway 'til it is over. We have had DGS today and he will probably be spending the night. He hasn't had a nap, either, and I believe it would be fair to say he is "getting testy". :rolleyes1 DH and DS went outside to feed the animals and try to clear the walkway a bit. I sent DGS outside to burn off some of that negative energy. He should sleep well tonight. So, we have all been "in for the night" all afternoon. I wish everyone to have a safe New Year celebration and we are all back posting in 2009!

Oh Marna kids can make life so hard for us sometimes.
I would tyr to just have him know that if he is not going to nap he must play in his room without noise.
I do not think you are raising a serial killer. Just a little boy who knows when mom is very tired and how to push buttons. So he is a normal little boy.
now for staying awake try oranges the vitiam c is good for you and will pick you up.

I know if I drive at night and I am sleepy I will open the window. The cool air will keep me awake. I also shut off the heat in the car if it is winter.

Hey, thanks for the pics!! My DH walked into the room just as I was looking at them, I told them they were of Montana. He likes that white crap, I hate it...LOL...

OK, here is the readers digest version of our 2 week "vacation". After a very rocky start we got to POFQ late on December 17. We spent the next 6 days alternating between having a ball and pulling our hair out by the roots. For the most part, it was exhausting but fun. You know how that expectation vs reality vacation works, don't you?;) On December 24th we left my dream home and drove to Savannah, stopping at Jacksonville and hopping a plane to be with my DILs on Christmas. We got the best prices on flights out of JAX. We spent the next 5 days visiting and eating and drinking. Came back to JAX and drove the rest of the way home on December 29. Got home at 2 a.m., Santa came that night. We had Christmas yesterday after I went to the kennel and picked up the dogs to the tune of $500+.

I don't have many pics, but I will post them when I get a chance.

I am still exhausted!! Don't want to do that again..no, no, no....

soooooo, how was y'alls Christmas? Was Santa good to ya? Hope so.

Hope everyone has a great NYE. Please be careful tonight, I want to hear from you guys tomorrow!

Hey mtblujeans, this Disser actually WANTS to come out to your snowy area. Maybe you can give her the low down.... I love your area in the summer, I imagine you still have it in March and April..

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2044613
:rotfl2: Oh, yeah, we aren't warm yet, in March OR April! :rotfl:

Man, you have the most hectic life!! How on earth do you keep your energy level up!?? Looking forward to pictures.... :goodvibes

Marna- My oldest decided he didn't want to nap at about 3 yrs old (or go to sleep at night either :confused3 ) , not that he didn't need it! What a fun few months THAT was. Hang in there, freapy  . The driving while tired thing is not good- talk with your bosses, hopefully work something out until your little guy can rest (so you can rest). My mommy move was to save video time for what used to be nap time- my little guy would hang out on my bed and get to watch tv while I got to rest. That would be the only tv/video time of the day and he was quiet as a mouse.
I like Madd's idea about the white light- I'll be picturing one for you-

Welcome home HRH! I want to see pics too! We stayed at POFQ in 2006 and loved it! How as the weather in Disney??

Mt. I know you are probably sick of the snow by now- but yesterday was the first time this season that we had any! It only lasted about an hour- but I was so excited. It was a very odd situation though:confused3 all of a sudden the sky turned dark- and the WIND! The wind picked up and was crazy! Of course, right before this all happened, I was planning on going to the grocery store (which was more chaotic than the impending snow "squall":rotfl2: but that is another story!:scared: )

As I was getting ready to leave for the store- the sky opened up and the snow was blowing like crazy! It was great!:rotfl2: I got out of the car at the store and could not even see to walk b/c the snow was blowing so hard in my face. When I came out- it was all calm and the snow stopped:guilty: That was my experience so far this season with snow:sad1:

I want sa'more:sad1:

We have had an interesting winter so far. :rotfl: It was dry past Thanksgiving ~ which it usually isn't (the local ski resort on the mountain usually opens Thanksgiving weekend) ~ and we 'got winter' all in one day with really cold temps! The temps have come up to about 20, average, and stayed steady. We have been having several storms coming from the ocean/west and heading across to the east. Over the past few years, our winter storms have been coming down from Canada....not this time. :confused3

It snowed and the wind blew yesterday, snowing our driveway shut. Today, it has been snowing pretty much all day. We got plowed out this afternoon and both the boys took off as soon as they could get out of here. I think they said we are expecting another 8" by tomorrow. DH, DS, & his DGF will go skiing if they can get out tomorrow. That sorta makes us sound like crazy people....:rotfl2:

When the temps dipped so darn :cold: early in December, we set the heaters and left them. In the past, we have turned the heaters down at night and back up during the day. We aren't doing that this winter and the house has been cozy at a steady 70 degrees....which has been very nice. :)

It really made an 'attitude difference' that we went to California & Mexico for a short time last January. It made the loooong winter more bearable for me. DH has high blood pressure and he is never cold but I have low blood pressure and I just freeze my buns off in the winter! I told DH we should go south for a short time every winter and he just  at me. :rotfl:

It has been inconvenience that the bucket on DH's tractor isn't usable this winter and we have had to rely on someone else plowing our driveway but we have been dealing with it. I have been trying to talk him into getting a tractor with a cab and bucket. He keeps clutching his chest when I bring it up...they are pretty spendy.

DH grew up in Iowa and I mostly grew up in Illinois so we are used to snow. Out here, you have to also be stubborn and accept being isolated to get through the winters some times.

Have there been no more ice storms or other winter maladies in the east? You guys don't have much snow yet? Is January the worst winter month on the eastern side of the Mississippi?

Mt I hate snow. If it was not so clod I would like winter. But the cold seems to no matter what go right thru me.
I do work with a women who loves the snow. Everytime it snows she gets giddy. I want to throw things at her.:rotfl2:

Have there been no more ice storms or other winter maladies in the east? You guys don't have much snow yet? Is January the worst winter month on the eastern side of the Mississippi?

Well- I am in NJ and our winters have been getting very mild with every passing year:guilty: In a few years I think they may start referring to us as the "South East":rotfl2: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: If I wanted to live in the South East I would move to the Carolinas. :sad1: Darn Global Warming!

A few weeks ago NYC was getting hit with snow and in NJ we had nothing- and we are only an hour and a half away.

I do know people further North have been getting hit pretty hard the past few months.

Our bookkeeper MOVED to Iowa just a few years ago, Prescott- (she still works for us from her home, so I am always talking to her about the weather) We think she is crazy that she chose to move there. But she seems happy! That is all that matters.

She always tells me their thinking is a world away from those of us here in NJ/NY- she cannot get used to that and it is one thing that she will always keep with her and that makes her so different from her neighbors.

:lmao: :rotfl2: Whenever I have to mail her something- I slap one of my "PETA with a pic of a cow" or "Don't Eat Meat" stickers on the envelope for a laugh :lmao:
