The Good Ole Freap Chat ~ Sequel Part III ~

Well, I'm gonna go have a glass of wine and watch Alpha Dog...Looks like a strange flick...I'll pass judgement later...

OMG! I LUUUUUUUV the movie Alpha Dog!!!!!! It is based on a true story- Emile Hirsch is great in it- and as much as I hate to say this- Justin Timberlake cracks me up!

Oh- I cannot forget Ben Foster- I love the character he plays!

I watch that movie eery time it is on!

I hope you like it!

Well since it's slow I'll put in my boring night;) . I just finished baking my favorite snickers cookies....like I need them...but they are SO good:love: . Kids are in bed, Dh is at work so it's just me, the dog and my computer....very quiet and relaxing. I am a HUGE college football fan so tomorrow I will be sleeping in (that's like 8am) and then getting ready to watch the Michigan Wolverines (hopefully) beat Notre Dame:cool1: ! Then we are off to some friends house to watch some more football and maybe a little drinking:confused3 :rotfl: . That's about it....wish I could go to the garage sale though Madd, I love me some second hand stuff, I even have the kids hooked....they're always asking if we can look for some sales:lmao:

Ive been lurking around the freebies for quite some time but I decided to come over here and check out the joint. Great place you have here!:rotfl: Plus, it means more JD pics to drool over if I look over here too...:worship: Happy weekend!

Morning Freaps,

I have only 4 days till disney. Two days left of work, that being 4 hours on Monday and Payroll on Tuesday morning.

Today I am trying to make a Pocohontas costume from scratch, without a pattern and that fits correctly. Lucky I have 5 new sheets from work. I am on dress #4 right now but it is getting close.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I need a favor. Does anyone have a good banana nut bread recipe they use that does not require buttermilk or shorting. My DH is really craving this and I lost the one I had when we moved.

So How is everyone? We have had rain none stop for 2 days and I am in a gloomy mood. Some send some sunshine my way....

We have been rainy for about2-3 ays now too, probably the same rain you had, just a day later:) . Not very good football news either (unless your a Notre Dame fan) We are under a high wind advisory and flood watch right now....sounds like fun huh, plus it's very hot and humid! But on the good side, after this passes tonight (remainder of Ike) we are supposed to cool down into the upper 60's lower 70's for the rest of the week. I feel bad though because Extreme Home Makeover is in our town right now and they were supposed to "move that bus" today! I guess standing in the rain isn't so bad when your getting a brand new 4000+ square foot house though:lovestruc

Wow! Do you know the family getting the new digs?

I don't know them personally but the news has been all over this so everyone here knows everything about them. The dad is a firefighter, the mom is a minister, hey have 3 kids of their own, adopted 3 kids from Toledo, and have 5 adopted kids from Haiti. The mom went to Haiti for a missionary thing with her church and called and told the husband she was bringing 5 of them home:scared1: ! And he went along with it! They had a 4 bedroom house that was just over 1000 sf. and like I said the new one is 4000+ Sf. The show came to my work and taped on Thurs. We made them a 8ft by 4ft light with an american flag on one side and a palm tree with some writing on the other for their new basement. Rib, one of the carpenters from the show, came in and took pics with everyone, it was cool, I would rather have Ty but that's ok;) .

Did you find one on allrecipes.com? I think the one I have doesn't use shortening and I know it doesn't call for buttermilk. I will check and post tomorrow.

I am sitting down for the first time all day. We are re-doing our shower which led to many other smaller bathroom projects. Today's was painting and generally getting ready for the plumber to come install the drain and valve. Tomorr we start tiling! I shouldn't complain--DH has done all the hard work of removing the old shower tile and bathroom floor tile.

I did find one but it was not as sweet as I would of like. I am always looking for good recipe ideas.

Good Monday morning FREAPS! Sorry I've been AWOL since the "SecreTARTY" incident. DH installed a new Firewall(I have no idea what that even is:confused3 ) and it blocked me from getting on the internet on Friday.:headache: I was at a loss on how to entertain myself.:lmao: Then I worked all day Saturday and we went to my folks house yesterday. We got very bad winds from Ike but no desperately needed rain.:sad2: The kids and I managed to pick some apples but had to cancel our usual hike in the woods because of the wind.

nothing going on around here.
The movie does look funny. Brad Pitt looks like such a silly silly man dancing

OK- I saw the movie! I must say it was not as funny as I thought it would be, but not bad at all! IMO Brad Pitt was the most entertaining character in the movie! HE MADE ME PEE! But that is all I am going to say about him:rolleyes1 .................At the end of the movie, even though everyone was just left staring at the screen- almost everyone was walking out with a smile on their face- it was just bizarre:lmao:

You know what? They did a house a few towns over and the people just lost it b/c they could not afford to keep up with the utilities and the taxes! I can only imagine what their taxes must have shot up to! I would guess maybe 8 or 9 grand a year! (maybe more!)

NJ property taxes are a %$#@ing DISGRACE! <sorry for that one! but I think my fellow NJ peeps will agree 100%!

My community yard sale I went to On Saturday was also a disgrace! 100+ house with nothing but crap! There were 5 of us that went and NO ONE did well! That should tell you something. :sad2:

Hey Hadley!? Did you like Alpha Dog???

I have packed, cleaned the family room and DS bedroom, now to the upper level! I have my bathroom, Living room, kitchen and foyer to clean up. I like to have the house spotless so when I come home tired I don't have to think about cleaning house.

I have work today in the pm and payroll tomorrow. Oh yes, for a bonus to the trip, I got my period last nite:scared1: I think I am a little old for this.

Wishing everyone a great day, back to house work, then the last vampire book is waiting. I am 3/4 of the way finished.
