Boy...thats a whole lotta ugly! Ya can tell they worked hard on it...and spent alot of money....but ugly is ugly.

I think, with a little modifications, this would be a great rig for Shan-man. Just think of the possibilities for making this into a Shanta mobile, he could zip all over the campground next Christmas.

$4,500 is WAY outta my price range, even if it didn't look like a Checker's restaurant! LOL My wife balked when I suggested paying $200 for a pair of fix-it project carts, so I think it'll be a while before I get a cart My wife's company just announced they are laying off about 13% of their employees, so we have other fish to fry! If she keeps her job, and I finish the master suite, maybe then I can get back to cart-dreamin'!

It took several years for it to be right for us to get a cart. Then 9 months later we bought another. So hang in there you never know what you might find.

What is that shift in the middle of the floor board? Is that a brake, or an actual clutch and gear shift?

I noticed that to I was thinking forward and reverse. My dad has been wanting to build floor shifter for ours.

Ive seen carts with F/R shifts similar to this...but if THATS what he did, he didnt bother removing the original stock shifter....you can see its still here in this pic...

and with all the customizing this guy has done...(although hideous customizing)I dont think he would have left the original shifter in place after going through the trouble of installing a floor shifter. But maybe his "finishing touches" are as bad as his decorating tastes!!!

Looking at the above pic...it seems like its an electric cart...isnt that the charging recepticle next to the original F/R shift? So the floor shift cant be a clutch since its an electric motor...so, im thinking its either an extra brake(why would anyone need an extra brake???), or its strictly for show.

The add says its a gas cart that runs 40 plus mph.

Does your gas yamy have a recepticle there? Maybe to charge the battery that the starter uses?

No but that would be a good idea. It does have a choke near there. Same spot but the other side of the shifter.

Tungpo1 and I got together today and he lifted my cart 6". Ron ordered me the lift from Jakes and I got the wheels and tires from Lawnspecialties (Jamie). If you look at the very 1st picture on this thread those are my the tires I got from him. Anyway, I didn't get to Ron's til about 11:00 so we didn't knock as many beers down as we would've say if this was a Friday or Saturday project lol.

Here's the cart on the jack before Ron actually started unbolting the old suspension.

OK The back is done. I think that was around 3-4 beers.

Front after the old tires were off.

Ron's like why won't these old spindles come off. Donnie, grab me another beer will ya. Some kind of air tool with a screwdriver looking jackhammer majiggy thing and they came right off.

After it was done. We went on some dirt trails behind Ron's after this.

These didn't come up in the other post. This was when I brought it back to my mom's house where I keep my camper.

All in all I'm really happy with it. It doesn't fit in the camper no mo lol, so I'm either going to trailer it behind my camper or try and buy Lonestar's Swivelwheel to attach to my camper. The next step is to order the light kit and that should rap her up until it get's scratched up and becomes a Gator cart.

Thanks Scott. It's taken me a while to get it here but it's coming along. MrsGus has no hubcaps for her cart. I think in a drunken stooper I pulled them off last 4th of July. Just kidding. Anyway, I'm going to give her mine since they obviously don't fit my wheels.

Ron really did a nice job. I knew there was no way to try this trick at home and Ron helped out a lot doing this for me. It's kinda hard to think too much of my cart when I'm standing next to his Harley cart all day lol.
