The Golden Girls Do Disney! ~ FINISHED!!

Angel - My husband and I did the Dessert Party last October had I posted about it in one of my TRs. I will need to hunt down that link if you still want to read it!

Elin, If you could give me a link that would be wonderful! Thank you :)

Disney has tweaked the April hours but it won't make a change in our plans for the most part. The changes include DS being open till 10:00 on Friday and Saturday nights with the addition of 2 Fantasmic! shows. We are skipping DS this trip so this won't affect us.

The other change is the second Spectro parade on Sunday night. We were planning to see Spectro at 9:00 followed by the Wishes dessert buffet at 10:00. But now, I might suggest that we go back to our rooms after Tea at the Grand and rest a bit. Maybe have dinner at Mara or Boma and then head to the buffet followed by the last parade at 11:00. It will mean a long day for us since we are doing the Sunrise Safari that morning too. Plus, we have to get up really early for ME the next morning. I need to think about this a lot. The dessert buffet was going to be a surprise for my friends but I may need to rethink that and ask their input. :scratchin

I think if you guys are able to rest during the afternoon, you can make it to the second Spectro. Hey, you can sleep at home, there's no sleep at DisneyWorld!! :rotfl:

You may want to run it by your friends though - they may not share the above philosophy!

I need to add this...my DS7 just came in and asked what I was typing. I told him that I was giving my opinion on either staying up late at Disney or getting more sleep because you have an early plane the next morning. He said "stay up late of course...you can sleep at home!" Well-trained! :rotfl2: He still remembers fondly our night at MVMCP when we literally carried them back to the AKL at 1:00am - both boys thought it was SO cool to be riding BTMR at midnight!!:thumbsup2

Rest mid-day. :thumbsup2

Just saw this on MouseForLess: "Reservations for the Wishes Dessert Party are currently being accepted beginning March 28 until May 31, 2010, except for April 23, 24 and 30 and May 1 when the party is on hold for Grad Nite in the Magic Kingdom. Reservations should be available throughout the summer as soon as the calendar becomes available for Disney reservationists which could happen at any time. Check our Wishes Dessert Party page for the latest prices and information."

Don will be busy tomorrow! ;)

My mantra, with Disney and Vegas, is "planes are for sleeping".

One of the reasons this trip is so important is that we don't rest at home! We are coming home on Monday morning so we can teach n Monday afternoon and evening!!

We are workaholics and we are worn out! :rotfl2:

And, Laura... Don already booked it. Love him!!

I think I will tell them I have something planned for out last night and present our timeline of the day. Then they can give me feedback without knowing what I have planned.

Thanks for the help, everyone!

Pictures with my new camera. So far I am very pleased with my Kodak Easy Share Z950. It seems a little slow to process the photos, but it could be user error!

I have photos I took with the camera without zoom and then with zoom. I also tried the macro setting for flowers that are beginning to bloom. Let me know what you think!

Great shots with the new camera! You are smart to buy and test it out a bit before the trip!;)

And I will be another vote for resting at home, not at Disney!:lmao:

I love the pictures. We have to get a new camera, so you'll have to let me know how you like it. That is such a cute town you live in. I was born in Virginia (Portsmouth).

Thanks, Susan! Our downtown area is not indicative of the area we really live in... we are midway between Richmond and DC and are considered to be Northern VA. Our area population is now about a quarter of a million people. And then we run into the DC suburbs! But downtown we have that old-fashioned feel. I love it. The best of both worlds!!

So far I really like the camera. I will let you all know if my mind changes for any reason! ::yes::

Great pics! The macro and zoom will come in very handy!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Those are just a couple of the things that I was less than happy with on my Panasonic Lumix camera. The Optical Image Stabilization seems better on this camera too. I am hoping to get better fireworks shots with this. I probably need to invest in a small tripod, and am looking at a gorillapod but would love to actually "touch" one before buying. I can't seem to find any place locally that sells them. :(

I think the closest *local* place would be REI at Short Pump. But, knowing how busy you've been, that might be too far away right now. :sad2:
Oh, and your pictures look great!
