The gift receiving dilemma

If someone gives you a gift that they're really excited about giving you, and you don't like it or it's really not "you". Do you return it or keep it?

My wonderful husband gave me a beautiful ring for my birthday and I feel like a horrible person, it's not something I'd wear, but I'd admire it on someone else.

It needs to be sized for my finger. I've lost weight and my hands got smaller I'm thinking when I take it back to have it sized I should just pick out what I like. Or should I just wear it and maybe it will grow on me.

MY DH also got me a ring, not exactly what I wanted. It is a very nice ring and I do wear it.

He told me if I didn't like it to take it back, but he spent alot of time picking it out and it meant alot. I think he would have been upset if I exchanged it.

Someone once said to me - if you take back what your spouse gets you they won't buy anymore gifts for you - something like that.

I'm a sentimental person, so I would probably keep something even if it wasnt something I loved. My husband is the exact opposite, he'll return anything. I've learned to not be bothered by it. I think it really depends on you and your husbands relationship and personalities.

I've done the opposite. I told him the truth and he returned it to the store.

Just talking with his sis, she's going by the jewelers tomorrow, so she's going to drop it off and pick it up on her way back. So I'll keep it and wear it.

If I returned it, I know it would hurt him. My dd said he was so happy that he picked out something that I liked. I'll admit I'm a hard person to buy jewelery for. I really only wear my wedding ring and earings. I can never find anything I like.
