I'm not exactly sure what you're asking?

The cabins are not the silver bullet things. They are regular cabins, look like log cabins from the outside. They have a big bedroom with a double bed and set of bunkbeds. There's a murphy bed in the living room for 2 more people. Fully stocked kitchen, and daily housekeeping. They have a deck, picnic table, and a grill. They're very nice! Not exactly "roughing it"! LOL!

They replaced the old "Wilderness Homes" a few years ago. They were not silver either, but way outdated trailer homes, with wood siding.

I wanted to weigh in and say that we LOVED the cabins. I was orignally worried that they would be to rustic for me. However, it was so wonderful to have that much space. We would put DS8 to bed in the bedroom while we stayed up and enjoyed a comfortable adult evening in the living room. We had so much more space than a hotel room. Although we have stayed at the Poly twice and loved the ammenities, having so much space was a huge plus.

We also brought some basic food (cereal, oatmeal, rasins, coffee) and supplemented with milk and fruit from the store on the resort. This meant we didn't have to go out for breakfast. We could eat at our leisure before heading out to the parks. If we wanted to go out for breakfast, the brunch on-site was great!

We only went for a long weekend, but are now planning a full week in the cabins.

When FW first introduced trailer accommodations, they were Terry trailers (hence the old Terry Trail across from Cypress Knee Circle.) These trailers were the first trailers to have a slide out. They cost $10 more a night than a standard campsite. The problem was that travel trailers aren't really made to be lived in year round, so these trailers kept wearing out. Eventually they replaced the trailers with dedicated loops of "Wilderness Homes."

I just got back from a week at the cabins. They are absolutely gorgeous! I am completely impressed with them, and the whole Wilderness area. I've stayed at ASMusic and CB before, and on this trip I checked out a couple more resorts, and I would never book anywhere else again. It's wonderful to have so much space, and a full kitchen, a huge bathroom, and so much privacy! Cudos to Disney for having such a terrific place to stay!

Stayed in the trailers back in the 80's and thought they were wonderful! Stayed in a cabin our last trip down with DH and 2 DD and thought they were even better--decor was more like a small apartment; it felt like we were coming "home" at the end of the day. Currently planning next summer's trip, and I'm having difficulty persuading the family to even consider anywhere else! By the way-- I LOVE your trip reports!!

No, the old Disney ones were made by Fleetwood. The silver trailers are made by Airstream.

Being a WDW history nut I'd like to find out more about the "Terry Trailers".

Here's the info I have on the history of trailers at FW:
No rental trailers were available at FW from opening until 1972.

Airstreams were introduced sometime in 1972.

Sometime between 1976-1978 the Airstreams were replaced by Fleetwood Travel trailers, which were in turn replaced by Fleetwood Travel Homes in 1988.

In 1992 Wilderness Trailers were introduced, only to be replaced by Wilderness Homes in 1993. (This may only be a name change and not two different units)

in 1997, Wilderness Cabins began replacing the Homes, and this changeover was completed in 1999.

so basically from that history - it started out being trailers and evolved into cabins which is basically what I was asking.

I distinctly remember staying with my family in one of those trailers when I was very very young....

When I was a kid when disneyworld first opened we stayed in an airstream silver bullet we rented from disney. I was only about ten but I seem to recall a master bedroom, a kitchen and a nice awning in the front. That was the beginning of my disney obsession.
