I'm not trying to drag out this subject from last week but I e-mailed Sportsman Guide on Saturday about the "issue" I have with them and this is the e-mail I get back from them today:


Dear Dawn,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately, the coupon SN888 is for merchandise only. The shipping charge of $4.48 is not included in your discount. We do state on our coupons whether it is a discount towards merchandise or towards shipping. However, it is not valued for both. Only one coupon is valid per order.

We were made aware of this coupon being posted by a 3rd party on numerous websites without our consent. If you would have received the coupon directly from our company you would have been made aware of our coupon policies. You will not be receiving a refund for your shipping. This order has processed for shipment and cannot be cancelled at this time.

We discourage customers from obtaining discount information from an outside source as it removes our responsibility as the issuing party. We have honored the coupon as a one time only courtesy towards the purchase of your merchandise.

My issue is that they neglected to include the shipping charges in both the confirmation email and shipment email, the cs lady wouldn't even address that when I spoke to her. She just kept repeating the above about 12 times and wouldn't respond to my ??? about the emails.:sad2:

I just re-checked my CC & they charged my CC $3.49 - I understand what the coupon MAY state but it should be reflected in my statement and I should not be charged a fee after the fact and AFTER I get a receipt showing a different amount. I should have the opportunity to cancel the transaction in full if I do not want the item, do not want my cc charged. I have filed a dispute with my cc and have faxed them the 2 receipts they emailed me after I completed my transaction. As I stated last week....many companies when they have gotten caught up in a quandry such as this have emailed everyone and cancelled those orders completely to avoid such situations. This company has taken the low road instead of the high road IMO. They could have honored the "mistake", cancelled all the orders, or ticked off alot of people. I guess they would rather lose a lot of potential customers instead of taking the middle road or high road options.
 

I have an idea for the future. I only use a prepaid cc that you get at the mall for all the freebies that I am not sure of the card only has $3.00 on it and this way I am never charged anything I shouldn't be charged. They had to cancel my order because they could not charge the shipping. Just a thought I know this does notchange the fact that this company does not practice good business sense. Just thought this might help out for the next time something maybe iffy on the hidden or shipping charges. :)

It seems that I can not have enough pamprin! I was cleaning out my med cabinet and I had **6** different bottles of pamprin! LOL. I always know that I am about to start when my DH brings home a bottle of pamprin and chocolate, throws it in the door and tells me he has things to do as he is running back out the door! :teacher:
 
I just had to tell ya'll...I have been getting worried because everyone else was getting their freebies and I hadn't seen anything in weeks. So today I went to my mailbox and SHAZAM! :yay: Freebies galore! I got toilet paper, Dove body wash, Pledge multi surface, P&G coupon book, Kashi cookie, Fiber One cereal and cereal bar, Stride gum, Gain coupon, and tampons!!! :dance3:

My postman must have thought I was crazy! :laughing:
 
Okay, I found this on the People website, I filled it out minus the cc info and said to bill me later. Then just write cancel on the bill when it comes and send it back. You should still get your free mags. Fingers crossed.

One thing about this, sometimes you have to send correspondence to an address other than the one on the bill. Read though it to see if that is the case. Payments usually go through a clearing center that doesn't read/forward written comments on the payment stub. This is coming from someone who has used the "sign up for free and cancel before payment" trick a few times...;)
